  1. May I make people be aware of the fact the correct sigil is
  2. Amber is my main character, she is the daughter of Alexander de Stolistes and Melissa Iban Stolistes. Early Life Amber.. Amber was the second child of Alexander de Stolistes, the second High Chancellor of Oren. Her life sounded rich and extravagant. Does it not? Being noble and landed, her father one of the most powerful men at the time. She was raised to be a perfect timid lady, like all noble women should be. Her childhood was bright and happy, more so uneventful with no major incidents. She was loved by her parents, her godfather Adam Green. Her father… often busy with his own ordeals. Her mother much more influential towards her, was the pretty red haired mother that fed her. She vaguely remembered those days while she would tug her mother's hair, urging her to feed her. As she grew up, she grew physically as well as emotionally attached to Joseph, her brother. He was older, male in which she lacked her father, and he genuinely cared about her. He would always include her, protect her, teach her. One might say Joseph spoiled Amber, but it was a brotherly affection. One day, their father came. Amber a small child, confused why he would come, all she hoped that was he would bring some toys or candies. No.. It wasn't at all. It was something horrendous. He told her that their mother died. Amber didn't know what was dying. Her father told her that her mother went to sleep, forever. Her brother shaking with sadness, burst into tears. She clung to him, buried her head in his clothes and cried with him. She remembered how her brother told her to dress in black, she remembered how the aunts and uncles would pat her head sympathetically, she remembered how she stood next to her father, him so stiff and formal. She grew, no longer chubby, more quiet and self reserved. Her brother had taught her to read, himself less attached to Amber, striving towards his own interests. She would stay at home, reading books, scraps from her father's table. She would go out, feel the soft grass beneath her feet, feel the warm sun, and imagine. Imagine she was this princess, appointing her lovely maids, wearing pretty dresses. That was all. The constant repetitiveness slowly grew dull, her mind dull. She would go, seek her brother, who dismissed her in an annoyed attitude. She would once more go back out. The first time she wrote a poem. "The warmth is returning, As the sky blushed and flushed. The wrong all erased, Receiving the forgiveness of good. The flowers are swaying, As the branches wave at me. Pearls of moisture stuck to petals, As they bloom of renewal. The wind crisp and clean, With an air of importance. I swept the scene with a single gaze, It was a new day." It was then, she started seeing her newfound friend, the pen and paper. But then it was another shock, when her father announced that he would send her to this Ladies' school which she would learn to be a proper lady. Her dreams would be filled of perfect ladies, so pretty and composed. She was given a large suitcase which she would pack her stuff into. She folded her dresses and books into the suitcase, but ever since her mother left, much of her dresses were too small. The large suitcase was very much empty. So that was how she was put onto a carriage, waved goodbye to her family and left towards the school. So she entered the school, feeling the stares piercing her back. Most importantly, she felt the firm hand of the Head Mistress. She shivered. She shivered for the rest of the 10 years. Every morning, she would wake up, dress in the coarse white dress, wash her face, stare at her gaunt face. Her back stiff from the wooden boards she slept in. Following the many other girls, she would fall into the graceful steps that she was taught to, and so "march" into the long bland dining hall. Then taking the speckless white plate, she would go up to the head cook and await for a thin porridge to be poured into it. She would return to her seat, and quickly finish it while it was still hot. Lessons in school commenced, first lesson was dining etiquette, second lesson was embroidery, third lesson was poise, fourth lesson was manners, fifth lesson was cookery, last and Amber's most favourite literature and religion. She would often hold the book gingerly in her hands, slowly open the first yellowed page. Her face slowly smiled as she saw the page of words. She inhaled, the smell of books. It was also for the first time she met Heather. Amber and Heather slowly developed into friends. Both sharing the same interest in literature. They laughed, they shared, they cried together. Together they passed the quiet nights, hoping tomorrow the Head Mistress would inform that they received a letter from their parents. Together they went through the years of puberty. Years passed, as it went past so fast. "Time is my Friend, Time is my Enemy. Never does a Favor, Never waits for me." Almost all students in the school was cloned, cloned into the respectful, composed, quiet, obedient daughter that all stereotypical family wished for. Amber slowly built with resentment towards time, the older she got, the worse she felt, it seemed like the older she was, the worse things went against her wish… Nevertheless, in hope the end of the course, Amber and Heather proceeded with their lessons, as usual. The day ended, Amber and Heather returned to the room they slept in. In the only private time they had, Amber and Heather lit the candle they saved, as the soft glow illuminated the book they had in had. Together they giggled about some handsome knight in the book. Time passed, they yawned, snuffing the candle they both returned to bed. Around the middle of the night, nearing the morning, Amber woke from the shifting and crying above. Seeing what happened, Amber found Heather sweating, crying and clawing the air. Frightened she quickly ran to see the Head Mistress, still in her night shift, she frantically told the Head Mistress of Heather's incident. The Head Mistress worried, returned to the sleeping quarters to inspect Heather, only to find the situation worse. Heather was soon transported to the nurse. Firstly the nurses suspected that Heather was in a bad dream. However, after many attempts to awake Heather, they were unsuccessful. Amber sat at Heather's side, greatly concerned, she would constantly wet the towel and wipe Heather's sweating face. No matter how Amber pleaded Heather to wake up, she did not. Morning came, noon came, evening came. The nurse came in shaking her head, the Head Mistress did too. She said, "Student Amber, you have been here for the whole day, it is an exception, however this cannot continue. More importantly, it is very unlikely student Heather shall awake.. from whatever she is in currently." Amber pleaded, but the Head Mistress kept her stance. Soon, the Head Nurse came, saying that she would put Heather out of her misery. Despite Amber's feverish protests, Heather was heavily drugged. Amber, being held by the strong arms of the the cook, cried, wept, lost pretty much everything she treasured. Amber continued to stand there, the cook still supporting her, cried until there was no more tears. Soon the cook and the rest of the nurses left the room. Amber fell, knelt beside Heather for the rest of the night, her mind empty with denial. Several weeks past after Heather's death, Amber was quiet, monotone, constantly shivering. All she could remember was Heather's cold hand. Nights where no where better, shivering, turning in her sleep. Amber constantly awoke with a huge gasp. The days passed more, Amber slowly recovered, time no longer meant anything, she just wanted it to all end. Miserably lost. That was all that could describe her. She returned to her quiet, self reserved attitude. Back to step 1, wasn't that all a waste? When she was 18, barely remembering her own birthday, the Head Mistress informed Amber that it was her last day here. Amber wandered in the empty halls of the school, passing the books, the bland dining hall, all the classrooms, in the end she wound herself up back at the sleeping quarters. She sat at the stiff wooden board, gently folded the cotton mattress. She once more opened her suitcase. It was empty except for books and some dresses. Quickly undressing the coarse white dress, she once more took out the colourful dress she came here wearing. She put it on. It was.. short. But only what she had. She stood, stared at the small mirror near the water basin. Bobbed a curtsy, tried to smile sweetly. She blinked, eyes empty. Who knew how to recognise the "twinkle" in the eyes mentioned so frequently in the books? Cheekbones high, taunt, pulled down to the chin. Smile, bitter. She rubbed her face, wound her hair into a pun, fixed it with a hair pin. Bobbed a curtsy once more, looked shyly, smiled tentatively. She closed her eyes slowly, inhaled and sighed in her mind. She opened her eyes once more, fingers found the suitcase clasps, closed it. Her deft fingers found the door knob, she twisted, she stepped out, she didn't look back. Perhaps somebody noticed, Amber shed a single tear as she remembered Heather with her gentle smile and clear glasses. Riding the carriage back home, she fondled the suitcase nervously. As she arrived, she slowly opened the door, her head peeking out, found her father and brother. She stepped down slowly, lightly placing a hand on Geraldes' arm for support. Amber lowered her eyes, then raised them back up, traveling from her father to her brother, offered a small smile. She said in matter-of-fact. "I'm back." Life as a Countess Soon after Amber's return, the county as well as family went along their work. Other than her brother giving her a leather bound book, her father giving her now favourite red dress, her return was soon forgotten. Now knowing her place in the family, Amber spends the day preparing the food and clothes for the family. She started with woollen scarfs for her brother, her brother had thanked her, their relationship once more driven closer as Amber hears the news that their father married a blue haired, cold woman when she was away. Together, they spent times speaking bad of this woman, how she was so much worse than their real mother, how she had somehow seduced their father. Amber, more passive of the two had only learnt to loath and avoid her step mother. Her brother instead, had developed quite a strong hatred to their stepmother. On some particular day, Joseph decided to draw his sword upon his stepmother. Amber had been preoccupied with her duties, only to find her brother emotionally as well as physically hurt. Their stepmother, had spontaneously found the strength and awareness to figure Joseph's attack, as well to defend herself in time. Joseph scowled and scoffed, somehow not accepting such defeat. Amber just quietly worked with his wounds as he told the incident with great detail, giving him a cup of warm milk, she left him to his own. During these times, Amber practiced her sewing and embroidery, her cookery, as well as writing. Finding her rank in two highly competent and educated males, Amber continued to develop the habit of suppressing opinions and avoiding decisions. She did what she thought was her duties and continued to do so, nothing else unless somebody told her to. After a few months, Alexander and Joseph decided they would leave together, on some kind of mission to retrieve something. It was all vague, but swift. Soon they left, leaving Amariel the holder of the county. Hoping that Amariel will not do anything destructive to the family, Amber spent much of the day worrying around as there was nobody to cook for, or make clothes for. Her relationship with Amariel had not gotten any better as Amber avoided her at every opportunity of confrontation. After a few more months, Amariel has mysteriously given the title of countess to Amber and soon left. Amber had quickly developed a census and recorded the residents and employees of the county. She and Nicodemus had also developed a set of laws to be abided in the county. After that, it seemed that Amber's creativity restricted her from further doing anything at the county. Except the sale of houses and the building of the tavern, nothing much happened. In one particular day, Amber caught an old, ragged woman in the Stolistes Chapel. After inquiring her name, whereabouts, its seemed as if Amber's mother had returned. Most unfortunately, the woman named Melissa had no memory of Amber's family. Amber couldn't force the woman into becoming the mother in her dreams. Before Amber could confirm such, the woman disappeared once more. It ended empty. Days after, Amber would simply ponder the thought and the feeling of having a mother. The county continued to stay with low profile, until one day, a notice came saying the land belongs to Duke Adorellan Kamura. With desperate hearts, Amber quickly informed the Duke that the land belonged to the Stolistes family. The seemingly good Duke decided to return the land back to Amber. Now with taxes and activity required from the Duke, Amber found Ambassador Christophe Babtiste, quite a compassionate man who had leadership skills. Though little improvement was made, they at least kept up with the tax. However given several warnings and threatens to be removed as vassals. Traitors Somehow, the Duke had heard about the rumours that House Stolistes would move to the newly founded Kingdom of Herendul. Those rumours was falsely based, however it was true that Amber that been starting to see Prince David Winter on a regular basis. Upon several occasions, Amber had found David, in quite a worse situation. Amber rather kind hearted, possessing some basic knowledge at the Lady's School tried her best to seal the bleeding wounds on David's body. They had met several times until David had asked Amber out for the first time. They set travel to the lands in Herendul. However, along the way David was ambushed by an elfess named Sha, who had a history torturing David. On an isolated, cold road, Amber had no strength to pull David to civilisation. Setting up a temporary home at the side of the road, Amber spent several harsh days with David on the road, testing her most primal survival skills. Finally arriving at Herendul lands, they entered all small house, in which Amber had dutifully provided a bath and dinner for David. But he later excused himself quite spontaneously and left. Amber rather confused had cleaned up the dishes, and waited for quite a long time. Then decided to find David on her own after his delayed return. Travelling far to Abresi, following a man's description, she had travelled to Salvus. Asking for directions once more, she heard quite disturbing news about a elfess and a male turning into a dark alley in Salvus. Rather afraid, yet determined, she ventured to the alley, only to find David injured once more. Slowly, she had acquired assistance and helped David into the Salvian Clinic. There, Amber spent once more many days at David's bedside. Learning many medical skills from the nurses and doctors there. Ever since, Amber had been carrying blissfoil with her. Nearing David's full recovery, they shared a quick yet intimate kiss that had sparked their confession of feelings. Though so, Amber left David to his work and never saw or heard him since. Returning to the county, Amber heard the news that her title was revoked as well as branded as traitors. Incredulous to this incident, she immediately traveled to the new King Silus Horen to plead innocent. Once more, her titles were resumed. Her brother's wife, Aloisia also gave birth to a healthy son, soon named Marcus de Stolistes. Amber was also reunited with her half-brother, Carlito de Stolistes. As the family grew, the county seems to energise once more. Carrion Reign As the former King Silus Horen was exiled and Ostromir Carrion crowned King, the reformation had been decided. The county to be demolished. Receiving the disappointed news from the High Chancellor Tuv and Lord Siegfried Varodyr, Amber submissively started the deconstruction of the county. At the same time, Beltran de Stolistes, their cousin had also returned. With their county destroyed, themselves homeless, they sought refuge in the capital Abresi. There Amber rediscovered her love in writing, following her father's footsteps, she had started writing edicts once more. Her nephew, Marcus also found a position as the Steward of Abresi. Hearing rumours of her father's return, Amber started to grow more intense loath to her father. Her father had not visited her at all. Her father was not there at her most despairing times. Her father was more concerned about her step mother than her children. Her relationship towards her father was built upon respect and admiration of the height of his career. Amber was approached by the High Chancellor offering a post at the Privy Council. Amber quickly accept, now working at the Lady Privy Seal. She immediately started drafting the edict of the Privy Seal, the Grand Marshal, the Lord High Steward. The Archbishop and the Lord High Chancellor's edict was yet to be completed. In Abresi Amber once more went into Lord Varodyr. Her nephews were in a heated argument with Lord Varodyr, until Amber entered. She was rather polite and calm, Lord Varodyr seeing so invited her to a walk. Soon Amber found herself confronting life's decisions that she had avoided so long. Lord Varodyr, dominant yet genuine at the same time seemed to offer many wise suggestions that would help Amber's position within the Human Empire. Amber who normally would crumble under such "interrogation" had somehow managed to stay unbroken, slowly building her characteristics once more. Bit by bit, Amber slowly recognised Lord Varodyr as a man who sincerely cared about her welfare and saw potential in her. Engaged So it happened, in one of the most spontaneous times. King Carrion had summoned Amber, she had went with haste, expecting it was related to the coming Privy Meeting. No it wasn't, she hadn't expected her to go into a private room with her, she didn't expect him to say so in matter of fact, "You need a legal heir, my family needs to continue the bloodline, Lady Amber you are to marry Prince Franz Carrion." Amber tried to be most polite, "Accept my thanks for the compliment you are paying me, I am very sensible of the honour of your proposal, but perhaps I could have more time to ponder?" No.. Amber in return got something like, "You dare to deny my offer?" In the end, she meekly accepted, the marriage was going to happen in a fortnight. Trying not to crush her hopes entirely, she had talked to her fiancee. He was serious, very, she couldn't seem to read him well though. But she was sure to try her best, if love does not spark, she was still determined to serve and please him.
