  1. I'll be away for the next weekish. If you need me I can sort of be reached on the forums and skype.

  2. I predict it'l be a bit wild with the VA's at first, villains everywhere like mages when magic was set loose, but after a while things will die down and people will play the character they want to play with no ooc restrictions. All in all, Me likey, good stuff
  3. Jonathan snorts as he sees one of the posters Ten thousand mina to build a homeless shelter?A scam if ever I saw one! You don't need that damn amount, you could easily feed and shelter people with a budget as little as a hundred minas! Heck with the right connections you could do it with no budget! he thinks to himself. Obviously he doesn't say it outloud, because he's not like the masses of Anthos's population who seem to enjoy voicing their opinions to nothing but a poster.
  4. Jonathan nods his head slowly as he hears Gil'ead speak, his lips curling slightly in amusement "You're right" he says slowly as Gil'ead finishes "You could not be more right, we do need more delves. But I'm just one man, I couldn't possibly know the location of all ruins and delveable locations on Anthos. I need your support here people. Nearly as long as Lil'Talaran has existed, one of the primary messages on the noticeboard has been to ask all delvers to report any ruin like structures to Regents. I for one, have heard nothing. So if any of you know of such a place, either approach me in person or leave a message for me with the geographical coordinates and or how to get there, and what it looks like. Do this, and I will ensure that something is set up" ((Either find me in game or send me a forum pm with cords~)) Jonathan stops, smiling now as he looks over the crowd "But, there will always be time spent at the base. We can't possibly delve back to back with no down time, there aren't enough places in Anthos. But time spent at the base, doesn't have to be time spent doing nothing and simply 'gossiping'. I spoke with Mr Williams privately and we talked about a Talaran School of magic. We have always been the arcane delvers, have we not? And we're all about finding knowledge? Perhaps it is time we shared that knowledge, in a place where people are taught not only how to use magic, by some of Anthos's finest mages mind you, but also when they should use magic, and with what mindset. Toby has already agreed to lead the Talaran school of magic as a sort of headmaster, and I myself will be contributing as a sort of teacher. Naturally we won't be teaching everyone who comes to us, but those who are....worthy, shall we say" he takes a deep breath, looking at the people "This is yet to come into play....thoughts?" with that he stops to see what peoples reactions are
  5. ((Yay for roofrunning no longer a breach of law~))
  6. ((Errr ley, gal, Ac'talareh is sealed off and now inhabited by (apparently) some necromancers and an apparition))
  7. Jonathan eyes Art neutrally as he delivers his short and bitter statement. As he finishes, Jonathan sighs and responds calmly "Artimec. Your current state of mind was brought on not by this guild or its members, but by yourself. You tried holding the entire weight of this guild on your shoulders, under no ones command but your own, and it ate at you until you became the bitter and emotionally devoid man you are now. No one man should have to hold up this whole guild by themselves and yet you did. Or tried to. I am not aiming to 'make someone this' or say that 'someone else should do that'. I aim to create a council of regents, amongst other positions, that spread out the damn load so that someone like you doesn't take it upon themselves to do it all alone and end up worse for it. Initiative is an excellent quality to posses and one I hope all can posses but that doesn't make leadership redundant. And I will always do my utmost to act within the will of this guild. The day I stop is the day you can show me the door" with that, Jonathan eyes Art cooly to see his response
  8. Jonathan chuckles softly "I didn't mean it in a bad way, I meant without you Lil'Talaran would likely burn to the ground. Would you prefer the title of Delver base master?"
  9. Jonathan breaks into a grin as he sees Toby burst in "Well I'll be damned, back from the grave and in the flesh, Toby Williams, civilized as ever" he laughs "Welcome back mate. As for who said you were dead, that would be an honest mistake on my part. I hadn't seen you in years and your brother mentioned an avalanche in the North. A bird would of been nice, nothing big just 'hey its Toby, just a heads up I'm alive and well and not dead' instead of just disappearing" he lets out a chuckle "Good to have you back. Just so happens I was talking about rebuilding the council of regents. If your still interested in this lot, it'd be great to have you" here he breaks into a sly grin "In fact, you might like to partake a little project I'm thinking of, but that's for later in the meeting~ Welcome back, Regent Williams" he looks over the crowd with a stern yet calm face "I trust there are no objections to that?" Jonathan listens calmly and without interruption as he hears Meridia speak. After a while he nods "Its perfectly acceptable that you want to be a non delver informant. It would be greatly appreciated for you to supply us with ruin locations and the like without being a delver. That said, if you wish to go on the delves themselves, you should really look into rejoining. Past laziness would be" he smiles "Overlooked, provided it does not repeat itself. I have plans on making sure this laziness of the delvers vanishes, but they are for later. As for your suggestion on Miss Isabella as regent" he lets out a sigh and sadly shakes his head "It's not a decision I would support. Izzy is both young and highly emotional. It's not anything personal Izzy however I don't think she would fare well in some of the hardships a regent might face, and the decision making involved. That said, I can recognize that she's done a lot of great work around Lil'Talaran. She could be considered a sort of housekeeper given she doesn't exactly delve however ensures everything runs smoothly at home"
  10. Jonathan Elers appears in the doorway of Lil'Talaran and smiles slightly as he sees the assembled crowd I guess this is everyone. Many have come He thinks to himself. He takes a deep breath before stepping onto the slightly raised platform just in front of the message board "Alright, Alright" he says loudly for everyone to hear "It looks like everyone who is coming has come. Some of you no doubt traveled far and others just walked down the hall from your room. Whatever the case may be, I welcome each and every one of you not as Delvers, but as friends, regardless of weather we just say each other ten minutes ago, ten years ago, or are meeting for the first time. With so many fine people who still care about the Arcane Delvers, our future will surely improve" here he pauses for a moment, to both catch his breath and let that sink in, before continuing "I'm not going to beat around the bush this meeting with pleasantries and talking about how great you all are, so lets get to it. The future of the delvers is the reason I have asked you all here today. Why you ask? Because at the moment, it sure as hell isn't looking as nice as I'd like it to be" he stops to let this sink in, his eyes scanning across the crowd to see their reaction for a moment before continuing "Many of the people here today have been delving long before I, and will remember further and better then I do. Yet I still remember a strong and proud moment in time where our strength rivaled nations and our knowledge was a source of envy. But most importantly, we were all, stupid as it may sound, brothers and sisters in delving who had each others backs. It just so happens that I think I know how it happened" "It started with a disease. I think some people call it "catonia" or something like that, but I'll just stick to laziness. Yes, our deterioration started, in my humble opinion, with laziness. People stuck to the bases and just 'hung out' instead of searching for knowledge, looking for ruins to delve or doing any sort of research. We started delving more up each others asses then we did ruins. Then, came the loss of identity. We all wanted to look pretty and thought ourselves above the uniform, and so slowly the blue and gold colors faded from cities. These days, I know of few who wear it beyond me. And finally, came the breakdown of leadership. I do all I can but alone, it is not enough. Our system of leadership is broken and as I can not be everywhere, it is often non existent" Jonathan stops and lets out a long sigh "I think that's about enough of me harping on about how bad things are, and time to move on to solutions. After all, I didn't call you all here to listen to me yapping. Firstly, I ask, no, I'll throw away my pride for a moment here, I beg all Ex-delvers and those who consider themselves 'delver friends' to join, or rejoin our folds. Whatever may have happened in the past to push you away is just that. In the past. I would be honored to have such a fine group of people helping me rebuilding the delvers to their seat of glory. By coming here today you've already shown that you care about this guild, so please, help it be as great as it can be" "Before I take a break from the sound of my own voice to hear what you people have to say, there is one last thing that needs saying. The council of regents is all but non existent as the only regent I have seen in years is the one I see when I look in the mirror. To pick a council is a task no one man should undertake and so I would like to hear your nominations, be them self or otherwise. There is also an empty guild master position, which I would likewise like to hear nominations for. So please, share with me your thoughts so far and make some nominations. I called you for your opinions after all, not for a crowd to address" With that, Jonathan stops and takes a step back, scanning the crowd for people who wish to speak. ((Alright, and the meeting begins! I was reminded of the cap on forum conversations and since every ones already responded here, I figured its easiest we do things in here. Now you guys get to respond to all this. I still have a lot of points and changes I plan on raising but I figure I've said enough for the time being so go ahead and respond now~ Remember, IC stuff))
  11. Jonathan rolls his eyes as Leyu looks over his shoulder and chuckles "Hush hush this is private Ley" he murmurs before writing out a response Dear Mr Strungrum, I was quite pleased with the majority of your answers. They all demonstrate that you could be of great service to the Arcane Delvers. However, a single answer stood out and that was your response to why you wish to be a Delver. It implies that your reasons are more so aligned to wanting to be a part of something rather then an interest in delving in particular. This of course does not mean you can not join. As such this application is to be considered in process. I would very much like to speak with you in person before passing final judgement. I for one am a man who values how a man presents himself in person as apposed to on paper. I am Jonathan Elers and can normally be found around New Malinor wearing Delver robes and carrying a staff. Seek me out, we will briefly talk and then we shall see where that leads us. Thank you for showing an interest in the Arcane Delvers and I hope this doesn't prove to be too much of an inconvenience. Sincerely, Jonathan Elers
  12. I'll go all Edward Kenway on their nooby Italian asses. Nothing is true. Everything is permitted
  13. Its always a pleasure rping with the necromancers and gravelords, even though I loose most the time :P Keep being the mysterious guys you are. Only thing I have to say is you don't seem to have a purpose. Then again you probably do and I just don't know it cause you're all mysterious. Keep on doing what you're doing~
  14. If Jonathan knew, he would say "You haven't been seen in years, it was natural to assume you were dead. Welcome back though, you're needed now more then ever, Fellow Regent" but of course, he does not know, so says and thinks nothing. ((lol alrighty then. I don't even remember the last time you were on Toby and you said you weren't playing him anymore *shrug*)
  15. New forms of magic that do what existing magics can already do is generally quite frowned upon. As evoking ice is already an established part of water evocation, the only really purpose for having it to be its own subtype would be so you can cut the corner of having to get advanced in water evocation. In magic, cutting corners is highly frowned upon, especially by established mages
  16. Jonathan Elers sighs and leans back in his chair as he finishes copying out the last letter. On his desk lay many sealed letters, addressed simply to"Delver or Delver friend". That should be enough. Now wheres that damn Courier I hired He thinks to himself. After all, speaking your thoughts out loud when nobody is there to hear them is a silly and foolish practice that he does not follow. No sooner had he thought it, then the door to his office flew open and a young and light footed elf lad came jogging in. As he does so, Jonathan stands and gives the courier his instructions "If they wear the Delver uniform of blue and gold, such as I wear, you give them a copy. If you have ever seen them wearing a Delver uniform, even if it was our old one, you give them a copy. If they look to be a mage, be it because they wear robes or carry a staff, you ask them if they are a Delver or Delver friend. They say yes, you give them a copy. Anyone you personally know to be a Delver, you give a copy. Further more, I want you to unseal one letter and pin it up in the Cloud Temple. There's no excuses, every Delver and Delver friend must receive a copy of this. Understood?" The courier simply nods his head and starts scooping the letters into his Satchel "Excellent! Make haste then" he offers the courier a tired smile and with that, the courier jogs out the door. Now to see who will come ((Now then, that gets the Rp out of the way. Yes, a large Delver meeting will be taking place. In game would have been preferable but given the spread out nature of our timezones, it will take place in a private forum conversation. Respond to this thread so I know to add you. I'll give it three days before we start))
  17. Jonathan reads over the application a few times before nodding in approval to himself. He takes a blank sheet of paper, dips his quill in an ink pot, before quickly scribbling out a letter. Upon opening, it would read Dear Mr Redgrave, I find your answers to be most intriguing. The force faction rank known as vigilant that you refer to is a thing of old and has been replaced by the Talaran Rangers, which you shall become. I must confess, I am unfamiliar with this 'white magic' you refer to, and I thought I knew most forms magic could take. None the less, perhaps you can explain it to me when we speak in person. You are accepted and I task you with finding me, Jonathan Elers. I'm a Valah in Delver robes with a staff, shouldn't prove too difficult. Welcome to the Delvers Mr Redgrave ~Jonathan.E~
  18. I actually got my Iron VIP a while back. No problems in game, just decided to (finally) get it set on the forums. Miningtilldeath, Iron VIP, Gracias

  21. I certainly agree that the amount of villainous acts seen on a day to day basis is getting slightly out of hand. However I don't think that its entirely a matter of too many villains per say. I think its a matter of the Villain to Hero ratio being overwhelming. Guards are pretty much a neutral ground who can sway towards the villainous side (I'm talking Stab a criminal in the back, kill first ask questions never) or they can be more Hero orientated guards (get to the bottom of things properly, only kill if absolutely necessary). Now in any story, LOTC included, the job of dealing with the villain will fall to the Hero. The problem is, their aren't enough Heroes. Too many people are playing either the victim or the villain, but not enough rping as the Hero who stops the villain. My point is, I don't think that this is an issue that requires anything to be done ooc wise, but needs to be dealt with in rp.
  22. A letter is sent to Thurak. Upon opening, the writing would be neither elegant nor messy, just simple and legible writting. "Dear Thurak. Firstly, I would like to apologise for the wait which you have had to endure, it was never my intent to keep you in suspense. After giving your application some thought, I'm afraid I must decline it. Please know that it is not because of any lack of apptitude, as I have personally witnessed you to be a fearless and courageous Uruk in battle. However, I do not believe that your interests align with that ofthe Arcane Delvers. Your application reflects that you're primarily interests lie in battle and fighting, therefor I believe you would be better suited to military, perhaps mercenary work, as apposed to becoming a Delver. I appologise for any inconvenience I may have caused you, it was not my intent. Should you wish to discuss your denial further, feel free to contact myself or another Regent. Sincerly, Jonathan Elers
  23. I feel kinda bad that I was able to get my characters hand healed back (with all correct rp) within an hour of it being chopped off....eh

"The magic of the monks allows for the healing of the most severe injuries, including MISSING LIMBS, burns and decapitation." Direct quote from Cloud temple of Anthos wiki page,so i'll continue to rp it as healed. http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/Cloud+Temple+of+Anthos .

  24. ((All interesting ideas, but they are things that need to be proposed and dealt with in an ic manner. Further, this system would only really suit (society and culture wise that is) the human nations (Oren and Herendul). Systems like these are not and should never be an ooc system like the magic system of tiers, its something that is entirely conducted in roleplay))
