  1. This should be worked on: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?/gettingstarted/guide -- That way, players like this: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/95976-godz-tloc-whitelist-application/ -- won't be so afraid to get wrong answers that they plagiarize or don't know that wizards aren't a 'race' on LoTC. ( Unless you count Ascended. :P )

  2. Meanwhile, one of the gangs' new initiates is being introduced by being forced to tear down all the posters. "How ya like 'dem apples, bled?!"
  3. The bells rang throughout the night as the formation of Herendul was celebrated by the Winters occupying Castle Wintermont. Kegs were brought forth into the still-in-construction Feast Hall and broken open accompanied by song, led by a rather proud Captain David Winter. Vectis had been woken by one of the Pages he was training. "Master, come join us! The Winters and everybody are celebrating for the new Kingdom of Herendul and the Winter's newfound royalty!" The Captain rose from his cot to tower over the lad. With a subtle gesture, he beckoned the Edict which was promptly produced into his hands. He read over it once, then twice, all in the silence of the eager Page. When Vectis was finished, he rolled it up, nodding as he tossed it back onto his bed and stepped out of his room without a word. The Page clambered behind the Captain in suit, watching Vectis throw on his war tabard and leather boots before exiting the tower, coming out into the freezing cold of night atop Wintermont's battlements. "Come, Page. Let us pray." The Page's heart sank as they descended down the Novice Tower, out into the courtyard, and entered the chapel, carved out from the mountain. Vectis sat himself at the front pew, closest to the large, wooden true cross. He proceeded to bow his head, close his eyes, and fold his hands, the Page sitting behind him and mimicking these actions. "Holy Father," he spoke aloud, "let this union be true and just in the minds of all mortals so that your Prophet and your most Divine descendant work in tandem. Bring peace to our world and unification amongst men so we might see the true enemy which we, your Sons at arms, do combat and safeguard the realm from. Let us pray." Hence the chanting of hymns in the Olde Tongue did ensue as the Page listened and chimed in on which hymns he remembered from study. Thread related. (Click for link.)

  7. Darkness was upon Castle Wintermont. Whilst the Chaptermen prepared themselves for rest, a select few marched out to the standard in front of the fortress. With the call of Captain Andrew, Brother Vectis, the Radiant, marched out to the waiting party whom stood in silence in the dark, no torches in hand. The group was turned towards the standard and they executed their salute. "Ave Domine," they chanted in unison. It was then the Captain turned on the Radiant. Vectis stood there, his azure eyes catching moonlight as he was informed of his promotion to Radiant Knight. Subserviently, he knelt before the Captain and bowed his head. There, he recited his oaths throughout the night and into the morn'. As Andrew's sword was drawn, the snowy landscape was bathed in warm, red and orange sunbeams. A tingle ran up Vectis's spine as fitful lights were cast upon the scene, dancing between the trees that lay in the land below. "Rise, Holy Ser Vectis," the Captain commanded. And he obliged. In the wee hours of the morn' in some forgotten region in northern Oren, a Knight was born.

  9. There was no making fun intended, though I can see why you thought so. To be clear, Guides exist for the ignorant mind.
  10. Thank you for the info, it was very helpful and I'm sure it will benefit any curious, ignorant minds reading this thread in the future!
  11. I read it all. In that case, it would be Self-Taught, but I thought Self-Taught students could only learn through tomes now? Instead of posting passive-aggressive statements, you could have informed me I was incorrect and that you could in fact be Self-Taught just through meditation in this particular branch of magic.
  12. Who the 'Patrons' are is never explained. It sounds to me that holy magic is almost exclusively allowed for members of this mysterious Clerical Order. Is there a possibility that through meditation and determination, a monk or priest could learn to draw upon the energy of the True Faith's Holy Light to use as a source for Priestly Healing and perhaps War Cleric magic?
  13. Horses ride out from Castle Wintermont in all directions, their monastic riders carrying messages of great importance. One by one, they arrive to their assigned destinations. Upon dismounting, they deliver or read aloud a message before the following: King William III and his Privy Council Grand Marshal Kamura and the Royal Army The Chapter of the Lion House Kamura House Valois House de Stolistes Houser Winter House Stafyr The message reads: - Sons of the Creator - - After Action Report - The scourge of the North have struck at Oren once more. At first there was a screech which rung throughout the mountains. Curiously, we armed our men and rallied to the rooftops of our Castle, taking place at the battlements. Dark clouds quickly soared over the mountain tops, casting shadows over Wintermont. We were not deterred, and took up torches in defiance. Figures began to appear on the edge of the northern ice wall. There was no speech nor demands; they began with summoning dark portals directly onto our roof, from which came the North's minions, giant, sword-wielding undead. We began opening fire and struck one of the casters, whom seemingly was situated midair, but this did not slow our foes. Slowly, the skeletons and dark mist drove us back. One of us fell. As we were driven further back, another. They came in increasing numbers, as if the horde had no end. We held our ground briefly upon the southern tower until their numbers overwhelmed us, claiming another. Our doom eminent, we could not last on the tower anymore. What few remained retreated beneath our battlements, sealing the hatch above themselves. They climbed swiftly to the bottom to escape the reach of the enemy's heretical and powerful magics. When they finally reached the bottom, only three remained. They ran out the door from the southern tower across the walls to the eastern tower, with a Novice known as Okari holding off the enemy bravely and falling in the process. The two survivors opened the iron doors, having made it across the walls, and slammed them behind themselves for fear of their lives. While holding out in the eastern tower, they waited for reinforcements. It took three separate charges until the tower was taken. Many men lost their lives to the brutality of the enemy's magic and the sheer numbers of their minions. Let this battle serve as a lesson to all.
  14. What is the matter with the server? Can I get a straight answer?

  15. Having heard of the treaty at the Holy Chapter of the Creator's Sons' castle, Wintermont, Brother Vectis happily proceeded to make the sign of the Lorraine Cross over himself. Glad was he that war had been prevented between His Holiness and the Divine.
  16. Speeches and the cries of hundreds rang throughout the air. Iron clattered as the armies of men, elves, orcs, and dwarves stood before the dark fortress of Urkvorkuhz Ghûl. They formed dozens of lines, the commanders hurriedly reaching the battlefield and shouting at their men to get into formations that would mean little once the charge was called. Vectis Vekon II stood on the rock where the men of Oren had been rallied to stand with the King. There he prepared himself, donning the blue and green tabard of House de Stolistes over his iron chestplate. House de Stolistes had rallied nearly as many men as House Winter had, leading Vectis to doubt in the ability of his superiors. They waited for what seemed like hours as the coalition of allied races made their way into ranks. Finally, the battle ensued and quickly turned into a sea of confusion and blood. Finding himself at the face of the bridge, Vectis came face to face with several of the Glurtzfolok and their Dark Lieutenants. Blades were exchanged and one of the enemy was slain. That is all Vectis remembered before he lost consciousness. When he awoke, it was not to the warmth of the Cloud Temple with it's beam cleansing his mind of the terror of whatever death he incurred, no: it was the stink and calls of crows on the battlefield. Vectis rose, looking around him. Bodies lay all around him, none living. They must have withdrawn. He looked down to his hand to see his sword still tightly clutched, and his shield still strapped to his arm. A sudden pain shot through him, making him realize he was wounded. Slowly and half-consciously, he hobbled towards Adunia, where he was taken in by their kindness. His wound was treated with all they could offer and wrapped up before they gave him a horse to ride home. It would be some time before he would be back up on his feet again. --- (( Basically, just a legitimate In Character explanation of why I'll be gone for one week, due to vacation, and a rendition of the battle from my character's point of view. Hope you enjoyed! ))

  18. In the Spicy Maiden in Abresi stood four Dragon Guards; Vectis, the Lord Commander, Ser Zandros and Ser Jeremiah, his Knight Commanders, and the Squire to Ser Jeremiah, Orgeron. In marched in a troupe of dark clad Lion Knights, demanding the arrest of Jeremiah for treason. "You dare defy the Lord Chancellor?" Jeremiah spoke out, regarding the Chancellor's stance on his warrant. Pertinax Horen began to count down for Jeremiah's total surrender as the crew of Lions surrounded him and Ser Zandros, armor equipped and weapons at the ready. At the other end of the bar, Ser Lerin Hrak came behind Vectis, aiming to stab him in the back. It was all of a sudden when the fighting broke out. Swords were swung as the barmaiden cried out in horror, clambering beneath her counter and heading into the basement. When the dust had settled, the Dragon Guards lay slain at the feet of the knights, being spat upon and stomped on as they relished in their victory. This would be the end for Vectis as his soul passed through the Monks' fingers and into the afterlife.
