  3. The missive laid open on Sebastien’s desk long after he had finished reading it. Marriage. Sons. Names chosen with care and history. He traced the ink once with his thumb, not lingering on any single line, only letting the weight of it settle where it would. There was no surprise in it, not truly. Only the quiet finality of seeing what had once been a possibility, set firmly into place. He drew a fresh sheet toward him and dipped his pen. For a moment, he stared at the blank page. Then the nib touched down. “My Lord Henri, I have received word of your union and of the joyful arrival of your sons. Allow me to extend my sincere congratulations to you and to Lady Lucrezia. May your household know strength, wisdom, and harmony in the years to come. May Raymond grow bold and steadfast, and Dante thoughtful and discerning, each in his own way bringing honor to the name Carnelle. The capital will watch their futures with interest, as I am certain it will watch yours. You have chosen a noble path. I trust it will bring you all that duty and devotion promise. With respect, - Sebastien Jean Chastel” He paused only once while writing it, the faintest hesitation before the final line, then sanded the page and folded it with deliberate care. The walk down to the aviary of Rittersberg was unhurried. The city square below carried its steady hum of trade and voices, life pressing forward as it always did. Within the aviary, warm air stirred with feathers and straw, the soft rustle of wings filling the quiet. He secured the letter to a waiting dove, smoothing its plumage once before release. The bird lifted cleanly into the pale sky. Sebastien remained a moment longer than necessary, watching until it was only a pale shape against the light. Then he exhaled, straightened his cuffs, and turned back toward the heart of the capital..

  5. Sebastien stood at the edge of the upper steps, looking out over the Lower Square where the city moved in its usual rhythm- vendors calling, children weaving through the crowds, merchants banners stirring in the breeze. Somewhere in that living, breathing expanse, the decision had been made. He had been chosen- by the people. A quiet smile settled on his face, not proud but certain, as his gaze swept across the rooftops and stone. “Well,” he murmured to himself, hands clasped behind his back, “Time to get to work..”
  6. Sebastien Jean Chastel cast his ballot without spectacle, the sealed envelope dispatched by courier to the central office in due course. He regarded it a moment before setting his seal, composed and assured. “Aye.” he said quietly as he set the pen aside. “I stand in agreement.”
  7. RESULTS, NOT PROMISES A Statement from Sebastien Jean-Chastel Endorsed by the Imperial Business Association “Rittersberg deserves leadership grounded in action, not ambition alone. Our capital is not a prize to be claimed, nor a single storefront to be occupied. It is a living city, sustained by merchants, craftsmen, laborers, and families who rely on fair opportunity and steady governance. Public office must serve the whole of the city, ensuring prosperity flows through every district, not just one door. As mayor, I pledge to: • Expand commercial districts to increase foot traffic and opportunity for independent merchants • Review and improve underused civic and storefront properties to better serve public trade • Strengthen cooperation between guilds, vendors, and city offices through proven IBA practices • Establish regular festivals, exhibitions, and public markets to energize commerce year round • Position Rittersberg as the leading economic capital of the Empire through deliberate growth I believe public office is a trust, not an entitlement. It must be used to expand opportunity, protect the common good, and strengthen the foundations upon which our city stands. Prosperity should be cultivated deliberately, shared widely, and guided by steady hands rather than private interest. My work has always been rooted in stewardship, cooperation, and the conviction that a capital must serve all who build it. In recent seasons, while others have reshaped civic spaces for private use, I have worked to widen the circle of commerce. New stalls have opened. New shops have taken root. New partnerships have formed through the Imperial Business Association. Where there was empty stone, there is now trade. Where there was silence, there is now movement. As Steward, I have already begun the work. Today I formally announce a municipal economic initiative already underway: - The Chastel Plan” The Chastel Plan To improve the economic prospects of the mercantile class within Rittersburg, the Office of the Stewardry has ordered a review of all storefronts, stalls, and shops to determine their viability and possible conversion into spaces more suitable for the health of our city. Under the guidance of the steward Sebastian Jean-Chastel, a number of building and investment projects have been initiated. This municipal economic plan, hereafter named “The Chastel Plan”, aims to revitalize the city and invite a higher density of foot traffic around strategically-located shopping districts. Notice I: A new shopping district, located beneath the city square, accessible in a direct line from the city entrance, is now open for vendors. Of the eight venues available, four have already been claimed- LOCATIONS ARE SELLING QUICKLY, BUY YOURS NOW! Notice II: The Office of the Imperial Exchequer has been reclaimed by the Office of the Stewardry. The lower floors have been converted into a commercial property, while the Exchequer-owned shops are to be refilled by the Office of the Stewardry. Notice III: Several highly-desirable shop locations are to be put up for public auction. A bidding forum shall be established soon. 8. ✠ Full Legal Name: Sebastien Jean-Chastel ✠ Age (Must be over 18): 21 Years Old ✠ Residence (Must be within Rittersberg): Mareno Qauys 2 ✠ Are you in good standing with the Empire? (Yes/No): Yes ✠ Provide a brief account (100-500 words) of your standing, trade, or service to the Imperial Capital, by which you claim fitness to represent them as Mayor. I, Sebastien Jean Chastel, was raised in the streets of Rittersburg. Its people are not strangers to me, they are my neighbors, my patrons, my friends. When the city thrives, I thrive. When it struggles, I feel it just the same. I oversaw the expansion of The Pour House, our Imperial Capital’s tavern, watching it grow from a humble hall into a lively gathering place that continues to serve good drink and warm meals to the folk of this city. I also stood among the founding members of the Imperial Business Association, a guild built to strengthen our merchant markets and support the artisans and traders who keep the Empire’s heart beating. In my months serving as steward, I have already begun drafting and setting in motion civil plans aimed at improving daily life within Rittersburg. I do not speak of change lightly. I work toward it.
  9. Sebastien Jean-Chastel allowed a faint, knowing smile to touch his lips as he dipped his head in acknowledgment.
  10. Sébastien Jean Chastel read the charter slowly, the seal of the Imperial Business Association lending familiar weight to every page. When he finally lowered it, there was no hesitation in his approval. “This is the Association acting with purpose,” he said, voice calm but assured. “Not merely opening trade, but giving it structure and direction.” He inclined his head slightly, already thinking ahead. “If guided with care, the Southern Company will strengthen Imperial commerce and carry that prosperity back to the capital. Rittersburg will feel its influence, and so will every merchant who stands beneath the IBA’s standard.”
  11. -A statement from Sebastien Jean-Chastel- Candidate For Mayor Of Rittersberg FOR A STRONGER CAPITAL AND A LIVING CITY Endorsed by the Imperial Business Association "I believe Rittersberg can be more than it is today... I will work to see our markets thrive again, not only for the great houses and established guilds, but for the small workshops, traders, and families who give this city its life! Through my work within the Imperial Business Association, I have seen firsthand what cooperation between merchants can achieve, and how shared opportunity strengthens the entire city. As mayor, I will bring that same spirit of support and practical stewardship to Rittersberg’s markets. I will champion gatherings that bring the city together. Festivals, merchants exhibitions, and public celebrations are not frivolities, they are signs of a healthy capital. As a first step, I intend to see St. Julia’s Day marked with a proper festival, a day of trade, music and a shared celebration worthy of Rittersberg and its people! I will look forward, not backward. The Empire is changing, and the capital must be ready to lead. Through careful planning, encouragement of new trade, and cooperation between guilds and city offices, I will prepare Rittersberg for growth while honoring the hands and traditions that built it. The future of Rittersberg will not simply arrive. It must be built, deliberately and together. If you believe in a thriving capital and a living city, I ask for your vote." A COMMITMENT TO RITTERSBERG As mayor, Sebastien Jean-Chastel pledges to... • Revitalize city markets and trade routes to support both major guilds and independent craftsmen • Strengthen cooperation between merchants through proven IBA practices • Establish regular public festivals and civic gatherings to encourage commerce and community • Restore Rittersberg’s reputation as a forward looking Imperial capital • Promote practical governance grounded in stewardship, fairness, and long term growth Merchant Warden of the IBA Ecuyer of the Golden Oak Company
  12. Sébastien Jean-Chastel skimmed the missive one final time before lowering it, his expression already set with purpose. With a decisive motion, he gestured to one of the fellow members of the Association. “Oui. There. Set the display table by the front. We will have this hall presentable for the people of Rittersburg before the night is through, if I have anything to say about it.” The room bustled at his words. Crates were shifted, banners unfurled, polished wood wiped clean as the space began to take shape. It was not grand by Imperial standards, but it carried weight all the same. A guildhall in miniature. A promise made tangible. Sébastien moved among them, correcting here, guiding there, his voice low but certain. “Non. That goes downstairs, mes amis. Storage below. Let the floor and her wares speak for us.” When at last the showcase was placed, he stepped back, gave it a final, appraising glance, and allowed himself a small nod. He turned then, slipping out into the lane beyond. The sounds of preparation faded behind him as he passed The Pour House, its familiar glow spilling warm light into the street. Ahead, the square opened wide, lanterns flickering against stone and spire, the capital alive even as dusk crept in. Sébastien slowed, taking it in. Rittersburg. The heart of the Empire. Soon, he thought, these streets would hum with new trade, new names, new ambition. The Association would take root here, and from here, it would spread. He smiled faintly, already imagining what was yet to come.
  13. !! DATE CHANGED - February 16th (Monday 2-4pm EST Festival, 5PM Joust !! - A Celebration of Devotion, Bonds & Quiet Affection - - Held Within Little Lorraine, of Rittersburg - Music St. Julia and the people of Little Lorraine invite all to pause and cherish what they hold dear. St. Julia, often called the “Mother Saint,” embodies motherhood, humility, and faithfulness. Though her prominence has faded over time, she remains remembered in the Scrolls as the wife of Horen - wise, steadfast, and far from docile. One verse tells how she entered her family’s holy tabernacle and gathered her three sons, bidding them remain while she walked the camp in search of Iblees. Observing Horen’s absence, Iblees entered the camp to tempt the people, but Julia, recalling her husband’s warning, revealed the Denier and cast him out, leaving him wroth. She is thus remembered not only for care and devotion, but also for courage and discernment. In her honor, the streets of Little Lorraine will be adorned with festive colors, lined with shops and vibrant displays. Visitors may wander through stalls offering exotic foods, delicate desserts, sweet candies, and warm, spiced drinks. Games and small amusements will be scattered throughout the quarter, encouraging friendly rivalry and shared joy. The Burning Crow Distillery will host its open hookah lounge, providing a place to gather, unwind, and share conversation beneath soft candlelight and drifting smoke. Music, warmth, and celebration will fill the streets as Little Lorraine welcomes all who wish to join in the festivities. St. Julia’s Day will also offer a feast of flavors from both Qali and Lotharingian traditions. Hearty, spiced dishes meant for sharing mingle with delicate sweets and comforting treats, filling the air with tempting aromas and inviting guests to linger, savor, and enjoy the company of others. Festival Activities The Joust Of The Fair Maiden - (A Joust - Held Within The Rittersberg Jousting Arena) (500 Mina Prize & Trophy) Cupid’s In Training (A short archery range using bows & targets) Rose Toss (Dice Game/Ring Toss) Lovers River (Lazy River Ride) Lover’s Wall (Lovers may inscribe their names upon a wall within Little Lorraine.) 15. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lorraine, where the echoes of ancient steeds and the whispered counsel of knights still linger, every stone, river, and forest holds a tale. The people of this proud place have, for centuries, lived by the twin pillars of honor and faith, shaping a culture steeped in chivalry, devotion, and courage. From the hallowed halls of noble courts to the mist-shrouded villages of the commonfolk, stories have always been the lifeblood of Lorraine, binding its people across generations and time. It is to these stories, myths, and heroes that The Storytellers Treasury is devoted. Here, we gather the epic tales of knights and errants, the whispered folklore of fae and saints, and the lyrical verse of troubadours who have long celebrated love, valor, and virtue. Our pages seek to illuminate the grandeur of Lothringian heritage, to preserve the sagas of those who upheld the Cross, the lance, and the honor of their people, and to ensure that the songs of their deeds echo far beyond the forests and hills of Lorraine. In the Treasury, you will find more than mere chronicles. You will find the legends of chevaliers who rode against impossible odds, the secrets of pilgrimage and relics, and the vibrant tapestry of a people who prize art and literature as fiercely as they prize valor on the battlefield. Here, the line between history and myth blurs, for every tale carries the heartbeat of Lorraine itself. The Storytellers Treasury is a place for all who seek to step into this world, whether as readers, writers, or chroniclers. We offer a haven where the legacy of Lothringian chivalry, faith, and artistry is not only remembered but celebrated, inviting you to lose yourself in the timeless dance of courage, honor, and wonder. For those who wish to hold these stories in hand, physical copies of the first tale, and future works of the Treasury, may be found at our stall in Rittersburg, Little Lorraine. Authors, poets, and chroniclers who wish to see their works kept, sold, and shared beneath the seal of the Storytellers Treasury are invited to reach out. If you carry a story worth preserving, there is room for it here. Many tales yet remain untold. All business inquiries may be directed to Sebastien Jean-Chastel. A Story By - Sebastien Jean-Chastel The first story kept within the Storytellers Treasury is a romance of oath and quiet wonder. It follows a Lothringian knight sent to guard what his vows did not name, and the presence he finds waiting for him in the deep woods of Lorraine. Beneath gold leaves and watchful stone, duty softens into devotion, and faith is tested not by force, but by mercy. What passes between them is not claimed, nor spoken aloud, yet it binds all the same. This is a tale of vows made where no court stands witness, of love that lingers rather than conquers, and of a knight who rides on changed, carrying something truer than glory. Thus begins the Storytellers Treasury, with a promise kept in shadow and remembered in silence. The Storytellers Treasury does not close with a single tale. More stories of Lorraine, and other realms will follow- romances and legends, myths half remembered, and the lives of heroes whose names deserve to be spoken again. New voices and new hands will soon join the Treasury, each adding their own telling to its growing shelves. 17. I would be happy to help wherever needed. I have previously served as a staff builder on the server with both the Event Team and the World Team. I also run an in character construction shop for roleplay purposes, and I can include a link to that if useful. If you would prefer to approach this from a roleplay angle, I am more than open to that, though it is not required. Builder Portfolio (still updating. There are several live builds on the server that I have completed which are not yet pictured). https://imgur.com/a/starfelt-build-portfolio-NawsG2w (I will reach out over discord too!)
  18. Sebastien smiled as he read over the missive, nodding to himself. “Hughes and Baldwin will never let him hear the end of this,” he said with a soft, amused breath, adjusting the parchment in his grasp as his thumb smoothed a familiar crease. The delay carried its own weight, of course. Such postponements were never without reason, and duty seldom made room for joy.
  19. Sébastien made his way through the newly renovated suburb with a small smile set upon his features, his orange eyes sweeping over the completed construction, quietly noting that everything had been finished to standard. He nodded now and then as he walked. As people began to filter into the street around him, moving into their homes, stocking stalls, raising signs, he slowed and finally came to a stop. He turned to watch as the once quiet stretch filled with motion and sound, the street coming alive, perhaps in quiet defiance of the forces pressing in around them. Even in these times of darkness and uncertainty, he and his partners had secured a place that could kindle warmth, keep the spark alive, and give those who fought something worth fighting for.

  24. Sébastien Jean-Chastel received word of the rising new social club by way of a flyer carried by a courier dove. The small bird soaring high as it clutched the missive, carried on the wind upwards to the mountainous keep overlooking the Imperial City of Rittersburg , the Krak des Châtaigne. The young page sat within the small outdoor courtyard, his amber boyish gaze cast upon the bust statue of Lothar The Leper as he read from a book detailing the Lothringian histories. Beside him a volume on the Lothringian Code lay open on the stone bench on which he sat. The bird plunged into the courtyard, then snapped its wings wide to slow its dive. The white pigeon dropped the flyer by the boy's feet before it darted upwards again, sailing from the keep, out into the vast god-touched landscape. Sébastien bent to retrieve the letter and unfurled it slowly within his grasp, a soft smile growing over his features as he scanned over the upcoming events for the social club. "Impressive.." he uttered as his eyes continued to glide down the parchment. When he finished reading, he rose to his feet and collected his books within his grasp, before making his way through the immaculate halls of the keep, where portraits of knights from ages past lined the walls. The boy's eyes glanced at them with quiet reverence one might reserve for honored guests. Sébastien made his way to his bunk within the barracks, opening the wooden trunk that held his belongings, pulling free a small intricately etched wooden box which was filled with fresh parchment, a cork sealed inkwell, and a small battered hawk feather, with a silver quill-tip. Settling into his bunk, he began to write.. "Dear Lady Devereux, I hope this missive finds you in good health. I Sébastien Jean-Chastel - write to offer my congratulations on the official opening of the Muse! I am sure you are most excited- for I recall we spoke of such an establishment at the ball in Alba, last we met. I look forward to what the future holds for you and this social club, as I've no doubt in due time all the bards and poets will be in fisticuffs over who has the honor of performing at your events. It shall be a great pleasure to soon raise a glass beneath your new banners. A toast awaits you Lady Devereux, and if I am so fortunate perhaps a dance at the upcoming Frostfell Masquerade. With fondest regards" - Sébastien Jean-Chastel Page of Squire, Lord Hughes d’Amaury ----------------------=======================================----------------------
