Hail Lord of the Craftians~
The GMs are hard at work tweaking rules and filling in blanks so that everything is clearer and just… makes more sense! With that we also have gotten into conversations on what rules actually work, and what just don’t make sense anymore.
One rule I’ve been working on changing is the rule on PKs. As of right now the rule is that you have seven days to decide if you really want to PK, no matter what. That means a king could commit suicide and have everything set up that someone else takes over, then decide they don’t like their successor and come back from the dead. Or an event sacrifice for a world story and decide that lel they actually just don’t want to be dead. As you can probably tell, this blanket rule has a lot of loopholes. And in most cases those who actually made a mistake in Pking due to real life situations won’t realize they made a mistake in a week.
The new rule is a little more forgiving! Instead of just needing to be within seven days, you will now need staff permission (that is GM, Admin, or LM) and to follow the basic outlines listed below. Remember at the end of the day it’ll be staff member discretion.
Please note! This is not an outline of when a person has to PK. Permakills have always been at the end of the day up to the players and if they are put in a situation listed below and do not agree to permakill the character, they don’t need to (unless you’re like an event character with a PK clause).
We will enforce a PK’s permanence when:
It was a suicide
The death was public, whether that be you died in front of someone, were executed, ect.
Were apart of a storyline event. You signed up to do it.
A public figure, such as a nation leader
The body was found in roleplay by other individuals (with your knowledge)
Died due to lore reasons (ie, the curses)
We will consider your proposals to return if:
It was alone and out of the character’s control
If it wasn’t explicitly stated that the character died or the post was not written by the player ((connor*cough*))
You have a private reason for making the choice (such as friend drama, health reasons, thinking you’ll leave the server due to real life, ect), this can vary and is by staff discretion
Being forced to by other out of character people or pressures
To be considered for an exception, you must provide documentation of the death and have valid proof for wanting to bring them back. You must also have an rp reason that makes sense within lore. You may reach out to any GM, LM, or Admin to discuss this.
Remember, a PK is a serious thing and it should not be taken lightly. This rule is being put in place to regulate those that shouldn’t be brought back just because it’s been under a week, and also allows the rules to be more forgiving to those who need it. At the end of the day we are here to provide a fun environment for players.
Again! This is not an outline of how a person may PK. Permakills have always been at the end of the day up to the players and if they are put in a situation listed above and do not agree to kill the character, they don’t need to (unless you’re like an event character with a PK clause).
