  2. Hail Lord of the Craftians! In honor of Community Month, I’ve decided to make a small video showcasing some of the amazing artists on this server. We have many talented artists and it’d be fun to show that off! So here’s how this’ll work, in this thread you can post screenshots you’re proud of, small video snippets, music you’ve made, artwork you’ve drawn. Anything. If you have an art compilation thread, you are free to post that as well bellow. I will be going through everything submitted within the week and putting it together into a quick, fun video that’ll be featured on our YouTube channel. If you are posting work below you are certifying that it is indeed completely your own work and giving LoTC permission to use the work in this video. Remember, plagiarism and taking someone’s work as your own is a serious offence and if you’re caught claiming another’s work as your own, you will be punished. So don’t do it! On that very high note, please come forward with your work! Even though it’s preferred that the work is LoTC related, it doesn’t specifically have to be. You are also free to submit as many pieces as you wish, so don't feel restricted to one or two. I need to fill up 3-4 minutes of music! The more the merrier and I look forward to seeing all of the community’s art. Format for submissions: Name you wish to go by in the video (irl name, mcname, ect): Artwork/link to art profile: Do you give LoTC permission to use your work in the video? (Yes/No): Is the work above completely your own? (Yes/No): Is there anything you’d like us to know about your work? (Name of person, location, ect.):
  3. Exactly <3 It'll always be up to the player when the want to pk or if they ever want to (unless you're a human over 150 cuz lore breaking or an event character)! That'll never change. This is just to prevent those that shouldn't be allowed to come back because it's under a week and give a little more wiggle room to those that need it.
  4. Hail Lord of the Craftians~ The GMs are hard at work tweaking rules and filling in blanks so that everything is clearer and just… makes more sense! With that we also have gotten into conversations on what rules actually work, and what just don’t make sense anymore. One rule I’ve been working on changing is the rule on PKs. As of right now the rule is that you have seven days to decide if you really want to PK, no matter what. That means a king could commit suicide and have everything set up that someone else takes over, then decide they don’t like their successor and come back from the dead. Or an event sacrifice for a world story and decide that lel they actually just don’t want to be dead. As you can probably tell, this blanket rule has a lot of loopholes. And in most cases those who actually made a mistake in Pking due to real life situations won’t realize they made a mistake in a week. The new rule is a little more forgiving! Instead of just needing to be within seven days, you will now need staff permission (that is GM, Admin, or LM) and to follow the basic outlines listed below. Remember at the end of the day it’ll be staff member discretion. Please note! This is not an outline of when a person has to PK. Permakills have always been at the end of the day up to the players and if they are put in a situation listed below and do not agree to permakill the character, they don’t need to (unless you’re like an event character with a PK clause). We will enforce a PK’s permanence when: It was a suicide The death was public, whether that be you died in front of someone, were executed, ect. Were apart of a storyline event. You signed up to do it. A public figure, such as a nation leader The body was found in roleplay by other individuals (with your knowledge) Died due to lore reasons (ie, the curses) We will consider your proposals to return if: It was alone and out of the character’s control If it wasn’t explicitly stated that the character died or the post was not written by the player ((connor*cough*)) You have a private reason for making the choice (such as friend drama, health reasons, thinking you’ll leave the server due to real life, ect), this can vary and is by staff discretion Being forced to by other out of character people or pressures To be considered for an exception, you must provide documentation of the death and have valid proof for wanting to bring them back. You must also have an rp reason that makes sense within lore. You may reach out to any GM, LM, or Admin to discuss this. Remember, a PK is a serious thing and it should not be taken lightly. This rule is being put in place to regulate those that shouldn’t be brought back just because it’s been under a week, and also allows the rules to be more forgiving to those who need it. At the end of the day we are here to provide a fun environment for players. Again! This is not an outline of how a person may PK. Permakills have always been at the end of the day up to the players and if they are put in a situation listed above and do not agree to kill the character, they don’t need to (unless you’re like an event character with a PK clause).
  5. Congrats teli <3 You'll do great. So happy to welcome you to the team
  6. Community Meeting in an hour! Check it out if you have the time and put your questions on the thread bellow so we can go through them.

  7. If you haven't put in your views on the server make sure to talk here! We had some great talk about antags at the Pre-meeting and this'll help keep everything together.

  8. Weclome Lord of the Craftians~ The topic: LoTC. It’s been about half a year since the creation and release of the Isles of Vailor if my early morning memory isn’t failing me. That’s half a year of both map changes, rule changes, staff changes. And still the community stands strong. The community is important to keeping the server going and therefore the ET, GMs, Devs, and Admins have started coming together to ask you some important questions. Your answers will be used to further event lines, create map changes, and give everyone food for thought. Remember to keep your answers respectful even when being critical and yada yada yada, you know what I mean. So let’s begin! LoTC In General: What do you like about LoTC? What do you dislike about LoTC? What is something LoTC needs to do more of? What should LoTC do less? What did you like specifically about previous maps? What would be interesting to see in a future map? What keeps you coming back to the server? Events and Interaction: Does LoTC need an antagonist? Do you think LoTC needs more incentive to explore? Do you think the server’s players need to work together more? Plugins and Development: What do you think of the skill plugin? Rate the skills plugin on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being your dream plugin that meets every element beyond expectations. What plugins do you think the developers need to work on? Do you feel there are any plugins that you directly interact with that should be changed? Thank you all for taking the time to answer these questions, I know there are a lot of them! Look back every once in a while to see more questions! I know I missed some... The GMs and Admins are also working together to set up a time for another Community Meeting to answer your questions and to discuss the answers given, so look forward to that.
  9. Damnit Dohvi, tryin to sneak into the hall ;) lol I'll fix that up in a sec.
  10. Hail Lord of the Craftians~ As some of you may know, the Media Team was passed into my hands after Aetosion’s leaving. With that came the responsibility of dusting off a team that has been left to their own devices for a very long time and seeing if there was anything to it. As long as I could remember, the team has been known as mostly inactive minus one or two exceptions and content was rarely seen. After discussing it with my fellow GMs and Admins, we decided it was best that the Media Team be disband. This is something long in the making and has been on the thoughts of everyone’s minds for a while. The past leads have done a good job trying to get the team running, but it’s difficult to keep creative content running. Both for the leads and the makers. We felt that it was time to open content creation to the entire community, and not just keep it to a team. I want to say thank you to all the MTs that stuck around so long. You guys have worked hard on videos and the content that /has/ reached the public. It just didn’t work out. I've already talked to a few of you about how to still create content if that's what you wish to do. But with the disbandment of this team, a need for advertisement and content comes up. That’s where all of you come in! I understand there are many of you that are very creative and just happen to not have the time for a team. The GM team will be running contests throughout the months that will allow you to share content as we need it and winners will receive minas, tomes of knowledge, and other fun prizes. As well, your work could end up on our YouTube or other social media sites. So stay tuned for those! If you are looking for pex to help you out in filming or taking screenshots, I am working with Dev and the GMs to set up a system so that you guys can get what you need. Look out for an update within the week and then you'll be able to modreq for the proper pex to help you out.
  11. An archaeologist works hard, digging day in and day out at the many ruins around the Cloud Temple. Finally, he has found something. The ruin hold ancient statues of heroes. The same heroes, plus new ones, that we’ve seen in other lands before. Names carved along the wall and even what looks like potentially a few large statues of the most prominent. The man is excited at his new finding and runs off to the Temple to find someone to show. In his haste, the archaeologist stumbles and falls. To his surprise he doesn’t hit a wall, but tumbles down stairs. At the bottom he finds a tomb with altars to the current skygods of Vailor. He mumbles a small prayer and thanks the many gods at what he had found, for he was either the best or luckiest archaeologist in Vailor. *** Hail Lord of the Craftians~ The GM team has recently been spending time cleaning up the land to make more spots of interest, as well as finishing up builds! The first of our long list is however down and I’m excited to announce the opening of the GM Crypt, showcasing the current GMs, and the Hall of Heroes, where our many donors can be found. On top of those two things, our ET have also been hard at work. Sebs has recently finished building the GM Graveyard where all the past GMs rest. It’s one of the best I’ve seen so far, definitely check it out! If you are a Bedrock or Ender VIP your name is now being shown on a sign in the hall! Don’t worry, if your name is for some reason not there, comment below or shoot me a quick message and we’ll clear it all up. Most likely I just couldn’t find your MC name. If you are an Aether VIP, there are spaces open for your statue! PM me with the colors/blocks you’d like the statue to be made of and if you’d like to have a mage, warrior, or normal dude. Remember that these statues are representing you as a hero, not as your RP character. And I suppose this is the time to say thank you to all the donors, not just those that have made it into the hall. You are the reason that this server is open and I hope that we can continue to make it a fun and welcoming place for all who enjoy roleplay. Stay tuned for the future changes and improvements we will be making!
