[!] A Mali'ker woman looks over the letter. She rolls her eyes and continues on with her daily tasks. "You're insane."
-
The Druidess takes one of the missives posted around the Atoll Grove, a small smile pulling at her lips. "With the support of new allies the innocent may possibly stay safe." She'd comment, taking the parchment into the grove. "Our work isn't over." The parchment is posted upon the Grove's bulletin board for all residents to see. Now her next task, to find the Sunny D and crayons.

⤹⋆⸙͎۪۫。˚۰˚☽˚ Passing of the Seasons Masquerade ➷。˚⸙͎۪۫⋆ ༄ See stars in the changing season and dance among them, shining. 12th of the Deep Cold, 45 SA Autumn by Soumya Ranjan. The chill of an autumn breeze and the changing of leaves usher in a time to remember those that have passed and reminisce on the challenges we’ve overcome together. The time of the Mother has come to a close and the torch passes to the Father’s cold surviving embrace. The dance between Cerridwen and Cernunnos presses the seasons forward in a never ending cycle. To celebrate this waltz, the Mother Circle would like to welcome citizens and friends of the Archipelago Grove, allies, and those with peaceful intentions to the Mother Circle Passing of the Seasons Masquerade Ball. This event will consist of dancing, music, refreshments, and a contest to crown the best dressed. Prizes will be given to the winner. The theme for the events and the contest will be as the title of the event suggests- changing of the seasons. As well, masks are encouraged but not required for those in general attendance. In remembrance to those deceased, a vigil will be held before events begin to clear the markers housed within the Archipelago Grove’s Garden of Souls. Security will be at the gates and throughout the grove for the event. All weapons and armor will be confiscated and returned when guests leave. [[Official festivities will begin Saturday the 16th, 3pm est.]] Penned, Archdruid Emilei, Aconite Druid Signed, Archdruid Aiden, Flora Druid Archdruid Jackdaw, Jackdaw Druid

I joined LoTC at the beginning of 2014 when my college roommate convinced me standing in one spot on minecraft was somehow fun. I thought it was just another way to bond with her but through that decision doors were opened to some of the best experienced of my life (so far). I loved the slice of life aspects of being able to life an escapism fantasy life while the conflict, politics, and wars made those quiet slice of life moments more precious. I loved even more the ability to express myself through writing and being able to meet others that wanted to do the same. Within a year or two of joining the server, I joined every staff team I possibly could- AT, FM, ET, GM, until finally I was an Admin! It was so much fun to meet all different people that were just as passionate to make this server just as welcoming as I felt it was when I joined. I didn't always agree with the other staff members but we were all trying our best to make the server what we felt would be best. Being on staff was probably the worst my mental health dropped too- depression, isolation, extreme jadedness over my relationships. It was probably the first time I'd use the word "toxic" outside of being salty over PVP goons raiding. The hours upon hours turned from enjoying roleplaying with my friends to suddenly stressing over helping others have fun, without really thinking about my own health and happiness. It took stepping away for a while to reevaluate priorities and heal to the point where I can now return and truly enjoy myself again. But this server brought one of the happiest lights of my life. I met my husband while randomly roleplaying one day in the Fringe! He accidentally yeeted himself off a wall in front of me and straight into my life. I also have met some of my best friends on this server that came to my wedding, supported me in my times of need, and people I truly love with all my heart. LoTC might just be an in-depth roleplaying server on the surface but to me it is also a community that I love and know I can call upon through anything.

Last Call for Students! [Accepting Students]
Readicti replied to Consulary Republic of Holm's topic in Atlas Roleplay Archive
Student Applications Full Name: Tayna Xayarath Age: 16 (17 when classes start) Residency: Holm Grove Major Subject: Medical Sciences (Alchemy) Secondary Subject: Fine Arts (Literature) Please compose a well-written paragraph, explaining why you’d like to attend the Holm Academy, and what opportunities you may pursue with your degree: I would like to join the academy to learn about the medical sciences to enhance my understanding of healing and be able to help people. I grew up in the Holm Grove and learning these sciences will balance well with my druidic learning and even enhance what I can hopefully do in the future. Being involved in the academy will also give me the opportunity to interact with others that have different world views than my own- such as students learning void magic. The NEW Mos Le'Harmless Cantina
Readicti replied to Reckless Banzai Screamer's topic in Atlas Roleplay Archive
Anlora hears the spreading word of a Cantina from her fellow citizens, only frowning at the rules. "Well... I didn't want to go anyway." With that she wanders towards a tavern that would welcome her patronage. -
Introduction & RP'ing with People with Physical Disabilities
Readicti replied to PurpleSweetTart's topic in Atlas OOC Archive
Welcome to LOTC! You always seem so nice in the druid chat and I hope we can rp sometime on the server. I remember the first few weeks of roleplaying getting made fun of for how slow I typed... I still do sometimes! So I can only imagine how it could feel for you and I really do hope that this post opens some eyes. It's a good reminder that when you interact with someone on the server, there is also an IRL person you're interacting with behind the character and you have absolutely no idea what they are dealing with. I'm really proud that you can have the courage to make this post!!!! -
Olive eyes rest on the waning candle, the only lighting in the dark, stone room Amuril Des’Nox called home. A small pearl of wax drips from her candle onto the corner of the letter she’d been working on through most of the night. It is early morning now, the sun still deciding if it was going to wake up. Why was this so difficult? With a soft sigh, the woman continues writing with a feather quill onto thick parchment, choosing her words carefully. ~*~*~*~ My dearest family and friends, It pains me to write this letter but I cannot ignore this heavy feeling in my heart any longer. The more time I stay in the Dominion and the more invested I become in its success, the more I realize I need to leave. I never intended to become so entangled in politics or to try to balance a family that is slowly falling apart. I cannot stand tall by the side of my family or my political friends, knowing I am not at my strongest and most of what they see is a facade while, honestly, I am scared. I know most will not forgive me for this choice but I hope you’ll understand that I need to leave and figure out who I want to be. When I returned to these lands, I was a confused girl and I cannot in good conscious say I have grown, only faked it. But when I return, I hope I will be someone others can be proud to stand beside and unwavering in my intentions. To my husband Arveldir, I know this decision to leave hurts you the most. We both know we were living a lie, ignoring the fact I was never going to be the one to fill what you need. I will always be your second choice, your comfort for this world. I need to grow on my own before I can try to be enough for you and to be proud to stand beside you in Stargush’stroh. Thank you for taking care of me and teaching me and loving me through all my faults. Teach Ardreth the softer sides of being a man, it’ll come in handy for him one day. And support your daughter. You might not always agree with what she does, but she does it with passion and that should always be encouraged. When we next meet, I hope you will be proud of what you see. My father Dwyn, Please remember that your own happiness matters too. That happiness you’re looking for will come not from the romantic attentions of others but from being confident in yourself and the attention of your family. This time I have to be the one to leave you and I am sorry that I have to give you more hurt than you’ve already experienced. Lord General Diraar. There is so much I wish I could tell you and will not have the time or the words. I only hope you know that I will remember what happened fondly and with regret that life were not only a little different. If I could, I’d freeze myself in that moment you were given the raffle prize. Please stay strong for the Dominion and try to give yourself a little bit of a break to enjoy the things that really matter. Azoth and the rest of the council. I’ve enjoyed your friendships and wish I had gotten to know most of you more. Remember to always work for the betterment of the people as a whole and not for yourselves. There are many out there that will try to tear us down and it is because of those that sat at our table that the Dominion will always come forward as victorious. Olnin. That question you asked in your last lesson, I cannot answer it at this point in time. I am sorry to be a disappointment but I suppose I was able to lead you to your true student. When I return, I hope I can finally answer your question and prove that I am not such a horrible student that you sometimes believe me to be. I am sure there are many others I’ve forgotten but I’m sure I will have the chance to see them again. Thank you all for the lessons I’ve learned and giving me much to contemplate. I will keep all of you close to my heart wherever I end up going and I hope to return one day a better person. Lady Amuril Des’Nox ~*~*~*~ Amuril leaves the letter for Arveldir, knowing he would share it to others. She moves silently through the clan hall, probably one of the last times she would see the hall and her home as it stands now. “Goodbye.” She murmurs softly, closing the door and continuing on her way to whatever adventures await. ~*~*~*~ (( I should be clear that I am not leaving the server, and if anything I am more active than I’ve ever been! But there comes a point in playing a character where you’ve run out of motivation for to play who they are and I’ve reached that point. Amuril was created as a fun character to run around on in my freetime and somehow ended up a figure in the Dominion with a large family! However, that very growth is what made playing on her difficult. When others want me on her more than I want to be on her, it become a chore and put me in a situation that I never want to be in when it comes to the server. I came back with the promise to myself I’d do this for fun, not to try to run anything again! I’m sure I’ll see most of you around :) Remember, if you don’t enjoy what you’re playing, put it down and come back later. ))

*A soft yell in the distance can be heard from the scary, deep hole of feral app limbo* I've never been one for forcing PK on someone, since it means destroying possibly even years of character development. I do think there should be a downside to deferalization- which is going to required to control the rp quality just like anything else. However, it seems like this amendment has it pretty covered and leaves it open for everyone who leaves the pack to rp it how they wish. They lose their senses, going through probably deep emotional depression and yea, maybe they end up dying from it. But that should be up to the player. If anything, you could add that there is an echo of the abuse on their souls and so even after leaving the life of a feral, the person will always be effected by gold and pained by holy magic but it doesn't really seem needed. I think that this is some good additions and it opens up a lot for the lore to be further expanded and played with, which I think is in the works. I personally want to see more on pack dynamics and imprinting but I totally get why this administrative tracking of alphas and further explanation on becoming/ unbecoming one needed to come first.

The Districts Caras Eldar is made up of three districts, each district accommodating the specific needs of the mali’ame, mali’ker, and mali’aheral. All the districts call under the jurisdiction of The United Elven Dominion. Irrinor District: The Mali’ame district. It is home to the Council Chambers, barracks, and Naelurir Grove. Citizens of this district live in wood crafted homes and tree houses, close the town square- where most of the population congregates to socialize. The points of interest are the Ame Tavern, the central library, and bathhouse! Vallienor District: The Mali’aheral district. Known for its magical and artistic ventures, the Upper District is home to many attractions and services. These include the Bedevere Theatre, luscious living, the Clinic, and research labs for the Arcane. Velunor District: The Mali’ker district. Every home has an amazing view of the ocean. You can find Ancestral Priests and Ker Shamans practicing their arts. The best Des’Nox Dank and Blueberry Ale is sold in the local district tavern. Finding a Steward While any district’s steward would be able to set you up in a home, each district has a Steward that can help you get settled into your new home. While you may contact the Lord Steward for any housing needs and the Lord Merchant for business inquiries, there are also a number of stewards that specialize in the different districts to help. Always try to reach out to the district stewards before the Lord Steward for housing! Here are the current Stewards: Lady Steward: Readicti Lord Merchant: Zilldude Irrinor Stewards: Sythan, chaoticConjurer Velunor Stewards: Riftblade Vallienor Stewards: Inquisitioners Interested in becoming a Steward? Send a bird to the Lord Steward to get started! The Fun Part: Paying Taxes Great! You’ve found a home and have gotten all settled. Now you have to pay for taxes. While a Steward should have explained the basics while giving you a home, sometimes the explanation gets shortened or forgotten. The first thing you need to do is know what house you live in! Next to your door will be a sign with your number. While the numbering looks a little different for each district, each house will follow the same general idea. Each district has their own steward office, which also contains where you can pay your taxes. A map is included for your convenience and a steward would always be happy to show you. You will NOT be able to pay your taxes at a different district’s office, so make sure you know where yours is!!! Irrinor: When entering the gate, take the first right and it’ll be the first building on your left. Velunor: Go down to the tavern, which is under the gate. From the tavern and facing the water, take a right and follow the ‘U’ shape towards the docked ships. The office will be the last building before the outer tower on your right. Vallienor: When entering the district, take a left towards the casino and it’ll be a door on your left right before you actually enter the casino. There should also be signs to help you find the office! Although your district’s steward should have told you how much you owe and you can always ask them, you can also find this piece of information on your tax box! Visit your district’s tax office and find your house number or name. On the tax box, it’ll show your house number/address and how many slips you need! Once you have your money, you can buy tax slips from the steward office and drop them into your marked chest. Be very careful that you put it into your chest and not someone else’s or you might get a strike even though you paid! The slip shops are obvious to see as you walk into the tax office, it’ll be a slab of wood with floating paper over it. Taxes are due every week by the end of Sunday. Money, Money, Money There are many ways to make money around the Dominion. However, the absolute easiest way to make some FREE money is just to vote. It takes about a minute a day and you’ll get 90 minas the first time you vote! That almost covers an entire week’s rent for many houses. If you vote consecutively, you’ll get an additional 90 minas. That’s over 1,000 minas a week from simply writing in your name! On top of voting, you can reach out to a steward to discuss your rp interests and plans. They will be able to point you in the direction of jobs within your point of interest. Some of these jobs include working in a tavern, store, or other odd jobs that will fit your character. A good way to find a job is to reach out to the Lord Mechant and the Merchant’s Guild to see how you can contribute! Evictions Paying taxes is important. It drives the economy forward and allows the Dominion to expand and protect its lands. That being said, when you do not pay taxes there will be consequences in the form of losing the house! After missing one week of taxes, you will be able to find a red marker in your tax box indicating that the Stewards never received your taxes. To make this marker go away, you must pay for the missed week on top of the current one to keep your home. If you do not pay for two weeks, you will find a sign in front of your home saying you have three days to move out your things- an eviction notice. Have your stuff out in three days or you will lose it! Fear not, missing taxes for personal reasons will not be the end of the world. Reach out to a Steward if you are aware that you will be missing a week or more so that it can be noted and you will not be penalized. If you cannot got on the server, you can always send a DM through Discord. We cannot read your mind and cannot keep track of everyone’s personal lives so keeping communication open early on will keep you from being evicted. Note: Evictions can also be handed out at the Lady Steward and district steward’s discretion. If you have any questions about how to acquire housing, pay taxes, or concerns about a recent/potential eviction, feel free to reach out to a steward.

Hail Lord of the Craftians! Many of you might have noticed that the Lord of the Craft has official social media sites- Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, ect. However, for over a year, or more, they have sadly gone almost untouched and left to die out. Recently it was discussed between a few GM’s and myself to try to bring them back up and running. With this revival we will be bringing a few new features to these platforms. I may not be the best twitter...er around but it will be a beginning to something that was once dead. Why Bother? Social Media is a great way to get quick updates about what’s going on the server without having to read the long announcement posts, help build community, and bring new players onto the server. What Do I Get Out Of This? Well, to give a nice start to the Social Media rise there will be a raffle every month giving away fun prizes. These prizes can be anything from minas, tomes, rp items, pretty much anything the Admins will allow me to give away. The raffle will be done at the beginning of every month. You are always welcome to send me ideas on what you think appropriate prices could be! To enter, you simply need to follow our Facebook and Twitter pages. I will announce the winners through our social media channels and you should send a PM through that medium with your MC name to win your prize. Want To Contribute? A thread is being opened at the same time as this one that will be listing out the different themes of that day. You are welcome to send short stories, screenshots, music, art, ect. That relate to the theme and they will be slowly put up! It will be free advertisement for yourself and maybe a way to embarrass a few friends on another public platform. In this thread you may also suggest other, appropriate, themes that you will like to see go into the rotation. For contributing to this thread, your name will be put down once more into the raffle. This means the more you contribute the more likely you are to win! The raffle drawing will be at the beginning of the month and the rounds on social media will start at the same time, once we have some submissions.

[✗] A Means to An End; Deific Moderation Proposal
Readicti replied to Tsuyose's topic in Denied Lore
I honestly don't see a point. If someone is inactive, they are obviously not using the magic, as they're not on the server. From my understanding with working with the Druid Order during my own hiatus' that the magic is simply frozen at where you left off, maybe a little deterioration of being rusty. This seems more like a punishment for players that need to take a break. It should be up to the Order if they want to put this system on their Order, instead of needing to ask to get out of it. But it just seems counter productive to me and like unneeded work. If the Monks or Paladins are having trouble with inactivity, maybe instead they should be keeping track of who is actually active. Like I can see situations where this is useful, like being polite enough to tell your order you are going inactive and to announce when you're back. But making it an actual magic rule just seems like you're overdoing it for the handful of people that are abusing their inactivity. tl;dr: Make this an optional thing that orders can opt into rather than forcing it upon every magic order until they appeal that it's not needed. If Orders can't control their activity, let them use them. Also, what about the.... like Yae'cthulu cleric where there's literally like one and he is banned. When he comes back does he need permission from himself to continue the magic? -
This is actually a really interesting idea ^^ I can't wait to see how it works out
-
I wouldn't mind a few fast travels to bring you to an island or region and that less means less abuse. It could also create more road rp, which right now isn't a whole lot when you can jump into two fast travels that are right next to each other and end up wherever you want to go. I agree with some of the previous peeps when they say, right now fast travels are just bad. And from previous conversations with 5.0 development, the admins damn right know they're bad. So my vote is minimum needed to easily get from island to island or if a nation wants a fast travel within their regions to get some place. Such as a capital wanted one to a smaller outlying town. We need some to get around but not enough where they are literally everywhere. I will keep out of really voting for raids. I don't participate in them and I don't care for them when they literally happen every few days. So either keep the rule how it is, or if you are going to raise the maximum cap, let the cooldown be longer. Not everyone enjoys being raided or wants to participate in raids.

Was a 5.0 release date given yet? I need to know if I can be hyped or if it'll be released on my first week of school.... like it has been for the last like three maps.
