de Sola men are few, and de Sola women even fewer, due to the family's virtual decimation. A chronicle of the known scions now under Titus' command has been created, descending by age. Former prisoner to the House of Vladov during which time he endured great torture, rescued by a high elven knight, he now wanders as a warrior monk of sorts seeking to shatter his fears or rather his reputation of cowardice. Squiring under Roderic de Savoie, Vanderus grew a great love for the course of arms, deigning to carve, cut, slash and arc his way to becoming the best swordsman and duelist of de Sola, a title nominally held by his rival second cousin Guilus de Sola, hero of the Duke's War. Vanderus was set to become the heir to Istria and all de Sola, but with his father's journey to Aeldin, Vanderus disobeyed this, disappearing under the cover of night to seek out his fortune as a gladiator. [[vulcism]] Otho de Capua, acknowledged as the bastard son of Brutus. In reality, Otho is the bastard of Titus, conceived when Titus seduced an ailing Teutonic knight's wife. In return for his noted service, he was granted a cadet branch of de Sola, henceforth known as de Capua. With the cowardice of Clement and insubordination of Vanderus, Otho was chosen to act as Lord-Regent of Istria and de Sola in Titus' absence. This caused confusion due to Otho's place as a supposed nephew. He currently oversees the construction of the fortress of Ravenna. [[Donkey_Dude]] Brothers, nephews Brutus de Sola, younger brother to Titus, twin brother of Caius (dead of cancer, 1500). Once regarded as a degenerate and rogue fond of gambling and whoring, Brutus returned to reconcile with his family and clean the stains of decadence upon his name. He once served as Lord Steward of Leuvaarden under House de Bar. [[rockethaul]] Cyprian 'the Half-handed' de Sola, son of Brutus. Two of Cyprian's fingers were gnawed off by an alpha mustang when he was but an adolescent. Once regarded as nondescript and even rather hesitant, he fought directly at Titus' side during the Duke's War and earned a modest amount of renown. With Clement's capture by the House of Vladov, Cyprian was briefly promoted to the position of Heir to de Sola. Adrianus de Sola, secondborn son of Brutus and nephew of Titus. He was but a page during the Duke's War, a cupbearer. His rise in prominence occurred after the Royal victory at Barrowyk, when he took on a more administrative role in his family due to his lord-uncle's absence. [[hotboss]] Cousins Vincent de Sola, cousin to Titus, nephew to Vibius the Conqueror. Once served as spymaster of Dour Watch during the Duke's War. On a mission to the Varodyrs at Saltstone, Vincent went missing. His whereabouts at present are unknown. [[schizotechie]] Guile de Sola, known hence 'The Real Orenian Hero', son to Marcellus the Martyr, cousin of Titus. Never knighted, he was Master-at-Arms of Istria, holder of the title of the strongest man in Oren, as well as the title of Royal Champion. He was a famed war hero throughout the Duke's War, slaying numerous knights on the battlefield. He once scalped a fallen opponent in single combat when the rebelling castle of Barrowyk was under siege. "The weak should fear the strong." DE SOLA - "Pain is the level of all your Fears." The motto doesn't lie to you about the family's reputation. It is, however, not official, merely a commonly quoted statement from a passage in Vibius' renowned memoirs, "Commentaries on the Dwarven War". House de Sola is a small, prolific Kaedreni family with a long record of contributions, both military and scholarly, to a roster of accomplished knightly orders, armies, and monarchs. It constitutes the descendants of the late Imperial Marshal, Lord Vibius Hanseticus de Sola, and his wife Caterina de Sola (née Horen). The family is a Crown vassal, and its sole holding of Dour Watch (as in hour) located a short walk to the south of Felsen serves as its seat. A family hunted down and politically suppressed for generations in the wake of a power grab ending dramatically in Vibius' assassination, its last survivors, shielded by sympathetic nobles, have recently managed to land themselves once more by obtaining the barony and fortress of Dour Watch, and expand their connections and honors by lending their military command expertise to lord and king alike. The de Sola coat of arms is simple and blunt, and arranged by argent bend gules. The horsehead represents this family's power, speed, and its expertise in cavalry affairs. The coat of arms also appears regularly in black and gold. De Sola's subjects include the newly-formed House of Angren, the Ostbo, Lothingberg, Krokoville and Roswell families, and House Appleton, an unrecognized family of Highlander warriors in a blood debt to Titus. The current head of the house is the lord Titus de Sola, Duke of Istria, Lord of Dour Watch. The family is also dedicated to the preservation of martial knowledge and history.
