History
Formation of the Barony of Adylith | Circa 1649
A few years after landing upon the Island of Atlas, House de Hartcold, which was led by Thomas de Hartcold I, Grandson to Hugh de Hartcold, founded the Barony of Adylith with the help of his brother, Richard de Hartcold and his cousin Leonard de Hartcold-Honneur.
Removal of Power | Circa 1658
Due to insubordination, Thomas de Hartcold was obligated by Lynette, the Curonian princess-consort to transfer all of his titles over to his wife, Auralia de Hartcold, and instead being granted the title of Baron-Consort of Adylith.
The Death of a Matriarch | Circa 1659
Only a year after Auralia de Hartcold became the Baroness of Adylith through the usurpation of her husbands lands by the Princess-Consort of Curon for his so called insubordination she was assassinated on the streets of the City of Cyrilsburg by an unknown Kha, with her death her lands were passed back to her husband.
The Rise of a Duchy | Circa 1659
Shortly after the death of his wife, Thomas de Hartcold bought Rivia off of his wife’s close friend, Alison Skion. Along with help of his trusted advisors they remade Rivia into a strong and proud nation after the fall of Curon. Some say Rivia taken Curon’s place in the world.
The Cantwell Uprising | Circa 1670 - Circa 1675
Lady Sarah Thomson, Baroness of Blackreach and Captain of the Order Of Nightfall, declared the Barony of Blackreach independent from the Duchy of Rivia after many mistreatments from Rivia’s allies, as well as the mass executions of the Cantwells by Renatus. This would start a five year long war between the Duchy of Rivia and their allies against the rebellious Barony of Blackreach and their allies. The Duchy of Rivia would begin a six month long siege against the Barony, which ultimately failed because of the Rivian soldiers and volunteers’ disorganisation, ending the war and giving Blackreach their independence.
