  1. "Let the Stars Fall." Muses a Witch, having foretold this and watches with delight.
  2. Mfers forgetting that Notch decided to make some random video game for the hell of it with no intent of actually developing it, thinking like maybe 4 entire people will play the creative building sandbox. Thanks for the details so others might get a better understanding what goes on in the background.
  3. "DO NOT BARTER WITH THE XIONISTS!!!! KILL THEM THEY ARE WEAK!" Screams a Witch
  4. What if we just make the OSRS Wilderness.

  5. The Witch wanders among the forests of the north, and their bitter winds howl with the company of rain. Her mind briefly drifts to that moment, with but a thought, she rendered forth what the child wished and sought, reduced to a pile of flesh and bone. She had no time for it; those who brought danger to the North like that boy did in an ill-conceived attempt at revenge, only to endanger the very individual they'd seemingly cared for. No more time for fools, no more time for rabid dogs, she thought. She found herself in that spot where the remains were discarded, picked apart by the lingering wildlife, hardly carrion at this point. It was irresponsible and wasteful what she did, but it hardly mattered so long as she had either the cunning or strength to weather through anything that would come about from this. Perhaps it was fated, the very family he spawned from took from her, and she merely repaid in kind, an impersonal act for another. Something caught her attention, despite the night and storm's influence, she saw them. A gathering of wolves approached their maws, still red wet from the feast she'd provided; doubtless, it was to her they sought another easy meal from her. Her sinister, weathered voice spills from that iron mouthpiece "Next time, my Wolves.."
  6. Oh my god they took his Counter Strike inventory.

  7. The Witch in the Stars scoffs in amusement, remarking, "Words, not their deeds." A moment of shimmering spite, having wasted her efforts for a place that no longer respected its origins and values.
  8. "If only they knew." She mused, as if Valindra were aware and present as she rummaged through her belongings, preparing for war.
  9. Holy shit Lord of the DnDCraft just dropped.
  10. A Kindred spots the missive, and in an advanced form of a Blood Magic Hail ((Tech Team permission)) recovers the missing part of the poster and restores it..
  11. Ithariel looks forward to the coming days.
  12. Cross that off the 2025 bingo card of Human RPers doing something weirdly unhinged.

  13. When I'm free tomorrow I'm going to be looking into how to apply custom item models/textures via the NBT/Data Component by having a custom NBT Tag, if all goes well it should hopefully be something easily implemented into ItemEdit without having to rely on names. The main thing would be having everyone using the resource pack, but I could probably fling together one built off Free Use assets that can provide a base line for people to work with, ideally each Nation/Group with the creative players are able to easily come together to make their own resource packs. I'd leave it an opt in feature by way of the player turning on or off said resource packs so if you don't like the style of a certain pack they can just not see it.
  14. Pretend I made an amazing post about this goofy thing I spent like 30 minutes trying to work out. This will require a mod called CIT Resewn to show, but I believe it is compatible with Optifine (idk if anyone still uses that). Within the inventory, it takes any tripwire hook renamed as Lockpick and gives it the model. As you can see in the top right, normal tripwire hooks are left unchanged. Google Drive Link I've included a folder called RAW FILES that includes the base texture and Block Bench Model file so people can change it or w/e. Very simple model and texturing because I was mostly looking to see ways to implement custom item models on the server.
  15. I point to metaplay as being an issue because even minor instances of it I think cascade into making it so it is difficult for any Roleplay to happen. I have personally seen instances where trying to create great Roleplay conflict between different groups was met with accusations of the opposing group poaching, no one is going to force anyone to deal with such nonsense, and that instantly eliminated any desire for the opposing group to RP with the group they had in mind. The issue as well as the server's 'plot' is such a vague thing because ultimately the plot is anything you want it to be it can be as high stakes as you want it, or as laidback as you want. With the example you point out of being a guy that wanders around taverns chatting, if I look through an incredibly cynical lens of a nation, what benefit does that provide outside the shortlived activity so I can continue to exist and maintain my status quo? Are you going to fight for my Nation when I need it, are you going to pay taxes, are you going to generate more activity, are you going to provide me with your time and effort, are you someone I want around, etc. It is seen as replaceable and not important enough to cultivate because you are not providing a direct positive benefit to whatever place you are in. I think that mindset is personally a shame because it isn't Roleplay, it feels like an optimization of the 'game' part of LotC which actively goes out of its way to eliminate Roleplay that isn't of instant benefit, in an attempt to create the perfect place to Roleplay by doing everything in their power to remove anything that can be considered problematic they fail to realise it is the imperfections to overcome and deal with that makes Roleplay fun, be it big or small. I base my mindset for roleplay on a couple of different things, notably I have been reading The Ultimate RPG series by James D'amato, this video here sums up my entire thoughts on why trying to OOCly dodge any and all conflict/problems ruin RP, along with the Daggerfall manual discussing the "Replay the Save Game" Strategy which covers some of the same points of how trying to avoid consequence robs you a lot of the fun you can have on the server. I certainly agree there are things staff can work on, but ultimately it also comes down to players coming together to try to create something new and better than essentially making the same types of groups over and over again, putting the same kinds of players in charge over and over again expecting a different result, I stick by my stance that the Nation that becomes the greatest are the ones that let players have the most freedom without worrying about OOCly how certain things will affect them and simply appreciate the players they have.
  16. Yeah, nothing big happens in RP when you have bad actors in positions that eliminate Roleplay by way of running around Discord rather than sending like letters, envoys or w/e to deal with what ever situation is happening because they want to protect their bubble from any and all disruption.
  17. Metaplay itself isn't the worst thing someone can do, simply the other behaviour that often comes with it is. The chance for an individual to improve themselves isn't removed when they get banned from the server, it just simply is or isn't going to happen off the server, it isn't anyone's right that they get access to LotC and it is pretty deserved if you go against what should be common sense core community values you lose access to said community. Imagine trying to play a DnD campaign and some guy is whispering in the DMs ear about what should be changed about the game so it benefits him, then him approaching you and the other players about how you should roleplay YOUR characters, not for any legitimate reason like discussing story beat ideas to keep cohesion when the moment comes, but navigating you purely OOCly to maintain control over the game and thus the story without any regard to your thoughts, feelings or enjoyment of the game. It has no place in any roleplaying community. Assuming the Cowboys have been breaking rules, then gather whatever info you can and make sure it is properly reported, even if you think it leads to nothing. I know at least a couple of players would be banned if people had reported their behaviour but they haven't because people for various reasons don't report it, however, I also know some cases where bans have been given because a report was made. On that other note, my biggest worry when the whole topic of metaplay was brought into existence was that nothing was going to happen with it, however, it has consistently been reinforced since August last year, and I think genuinely pushing the server towards a better direction, while I do agree with some of the criticism I also disagree with how it seems like they need to push out a perfect system before it can even be implemented. When I came back to the server, about 5 months before even the metaplay post got made, I was in a group and a player got meta rallied against, I had no beneficial reason to help said player as it could have been determinantal to my position in the group, but I did anyway by giving him information so he could report it. My thought process was simple, it was a shit thing to put someone through and it is not the kind of behaviour I would tolerate from anyone I want to hang out with, breaking and bending the rules when it best suits them. Under the new metaplay rules if that happened and I'd remained silent during it I think a ban would have been justified and therein lies my problem, I didn't need the metaplay rules to exist to make a decent decision, because that is all the metaplay rules are really simple principles that should be standard for any RP medium. I as a player told myself I would maintain a standard as best I could at all times, and do whatever I can to foster a decent overall community. What it ultimately comes down to is intention, if you aren't discussing because you enjoy the RP or trying to come up with cool ideas, but basically trying to dominate another player/group it has no place here.
  18. It is case by case basis, I wasn't implying it is impossible for everyone to change, but if admins literally get enough evidence that someone/someones have been engaging in conduct that is degrading of the experience they shouldn't get a slap on the wrist by a warning. Sometimes the ban is the wake up call that you need to hold yourself and others to a higher standard and other times the individual just blames every one else but themselves for engaging in dumb stuff or just blatantly don't acknowledge it, make a convincing enough appeal and do the same thing again. I think asking moderation to basically carry the entire server conduct by way of they need to list out every single nuance of the rules is foolish, even more so when you have people that will push everything to the limit. This isn't just a game, its a community, and looking at the sub-communities that often engage in this kind of stuff they usually self-implode on one another, after letting really terrible behavior slide because they're friends or it gives them benefit IRP/OOCly is sickening. We as players also need to be maintaining the community, we need to be calling out bad behavior before it gets worse, and if you get backlash for telling people "don't be bad" then those people aren't really worth your time anyway from what I've dealt with personally.
  19. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/rules/ https://www.lordofthecraft.net/mission/ https://www.lordofthecraft.net/roleplay-leadership/ Planning roleplay events in Discord isn't the problem, the problem is people think it is their god-given right to absolutely dunk on their "opps" without restraint and do everything in their IRP and OOC power to do so over a Minecraft RP server. If the first thing you think on this server when making any action in RP isn't either "What would my character do?" or "What would make for more fun RP for everyone?" you seriously need to consider what you are doing here. This whole thing works based on cooperation, now that doesn't mean we have to be friends with everyone or like each other, but if you can't be at least cordial when the moment calls for it, and decide to actively make the server worse for someone via manipulation of events and people to ensure your bubble is protected while ruining other peoples' experience on the server I can't imagine the staff will tolerate such behavior long. Regardless, admins can only write so many times, "Please don't actively be horrible to people on this server, even if you are going against them IRP." I think this is a bad idea because what will happen is they'll just go completely underground and remove whoever they think did it or just utterly wipe the slate clean and carry on like nothing happened. From what I have seen recently it'd be better if the people were just completely removed because they don't want to change, they don't see a problem in their actions when they trash people and call them slurs, when they try to manipulate RP so it doesn't cause any harm to their group/friends. When this kind of behaviour goes on, it seriously pushes away good Roleplayers from the server because imagine wasting your time in Roleplay gathering evidence of certain things and possibly putting your character at risk and you get foiled because some guy who barely plays the server in any real way hops Discords to make sure everything is chill and to ignore whatever was happening and then basically getting OOCly blacklisted from related Nation by way of them either metagaming and killing you or just actively ignoring you on all characters. It genuinely makes the server worse when you treat it like a discount CK game rather than enjoying spending time Roleplaying with actual people who've spend time and effort into trying to make interesting characters you can make cool narratives with. Telanir is unironically right when he says you're playing the server wrong if you treat it as a game to win.

Ithzelith looks over the missive after taking it somewhere safe, she gazes over the writing, in her rushed state, mind preoccupied with other matters. She reads the final question, and she drawls out. "The only way it can be made, the only way the Descendants will understand it. Through great violence. Chaos unfettered."
  21. I added a few changes and notes with most of the feedback you've mentioned here to the document. Some of the stuff might be missing/lacking some needed clarification in an attempt to shorten the post. When it comes to the Guise, my main issue with how it is currently is being locked out of Seer spells which makes it overall clunky to use if you want to make a disguise that would greatly benefit from being able to use Seer spells and if you've access to better options, you may as well use them instead, ie Alchemical Feats, I don't think 2 slot Seer is powerful enough to warrant having a spell locking you out of the entire magic aside from passives when in a disguise and I think only would encourage using the spell in a way that most people would hate/find distasteful (disguising solely for the sake of avoiding consequences rather than using the disguise to push a new narrative). However, I'll make sure it is clarified that it is possible to become trapped in disguise. Finally, when it comes to Seers finding other Seers, it is completely doable with Caecic. The main thing with explaining the magic is I can't say to someone "I became blind and suddenly could see and do all these things". It needs to be textured and explained. Sown Fallacies with the currently accepted write aren't possible to be removed, given they're incredibly minor, however a Seer may 'lift' them provided they have decided to sow another person while already at 5 sown individuals. When the Fallacy becomes 'cultivated' it may be removed by Shamans currently. I'm not opposed to Clerics being able to remove Cultivated Fallcies (given it is something they'll wish to remove from someone if they discover it), however, that will rely on a write being accepted. I will, however, be including a way for Seers to remove both sown and cultivated fallacies, this will be to counter people trying to cultivate and 'hoard' for the sake of protecting them from other Seers, but also a way for Seers to collaborate, an example being, an Evil Witch Seer that curses someone, and then they get directed to a faux-cleric Seer who purges them from said curse to build up a reputation.
  22. Lightweaving for the Seer entails they have a max of 3 casting tells, and outlines what you can and can't have (no mechanical blinding lights, but can smell of embers as examples). Charade has two options in combat to gaslight that you are doing real spells, being the illusionary explosion and call down. Lightweaving retextures, as mentioned, any abilities so long as doesn't 'bend' the telegraph (fire mage doing a big fire ball attack but makes it look like a pin hole). For non-combat you can use any of the casting tells within the limits of the tell and Charade to any effect, example being my persona has access to a silver light tell and came across a wounded child, it was a minor wound that I could scab shut with blood magic, so I sparkled a bit of silver light over it in case anyone came in so they might mistake me for a cleric. You can use it to any effect in non-combat, from faking magic sparkles over items, playing cards, crystal ball, etc. Anyway to work, hope that clarifies it. The main reason Charade and Lightweaving (among other spells, effects, etc) was split from another was not to bloat the spell description, one thing that was slightly annoying with the spells in the old lore is it would talk about Botched Translations from slotted exhaustion, which you'd have to refer to the feat level second sight to know what that actually entails.
  23. Charade/Lightweaving feature can still be used in combat, the charade part of having a freeform use of the casting tell isn't allowed during combat specifically due to how over complicated it could make CRP. TLDR, you can have recolored fireballs still.
