  1. (lol ur post to rep ratio is already fucked let narthok post it next time hahahaha) "I suppose I don't need an invitation as it will be conducted at my home most likely." Says a bark skinned dryad as she hears news of the marriage in Nordengrad. "How interesting a Nordengradic union will be to witness." She says idly before returning to collecting excess sap from her tree, as letting the liquid drip down the bark and seep into the soil was both dangerous and wasteful after all.
  2. It's not gonna happen overnight. Accept progress. This is already a big change which is why it's making people sweat, but we're never gonna make progress if we want everything done overnight. People will only recognize how god awful the current system is once it's gone.
  3. Plate armor is ridiculous protection, you don't kill someone in plate with sword, you beat them until they're exhausted from the heavy plates and then you open their visor and stab them in the face if you wanna kill them.
  4. I'm sure you've been in hundreds of raids, but I've been in hundreds more on both sides (even dozens on your side), attacking and defending. I've been in the mindset that you have been in before when I played an Elf, and here's why Elves are constantly targets. The Elves are pompous asses both in game and out, always have been condescending towards people outside their clique. Perhaps if you didn't view all raiders as cavemen "ME SMASH ME TAKE PIXELS" You wouldn't have this problem. Act decently and find RP solutions to RP problems and OOC solutions to OOC problems. If someone is raiding you for OOC reasons, get them banned instead of halting progress because you refuse to put in the work to better the server with reports to rid toxic behavior.
  5. Yikes untrue. Don't give people a reason to raid you and they will not raid you. The reason why raids on LoTC are so fun in the first place is the purpose behind it, if this wasn't true then these people would be playing on faction servers where there are no rules.
  6. Another thing that I think is odd is that people think that raiders want to raid their factions for no reason or just to bully them. If there is no benefit to raiding you, no armor, no wealth and no political motive, then you will not be raided... Just don't conduct yourself like an ******* and lay low and no one will bug you, people are looking for a fight and loot, not people who just sit there and ***** the whole way through, that's not fun for either party. Raiders are just going to raid each other and you're going to roleplay. find an RP SOLUTION to RP PROBLEMS, you don't need to rely on OOC barriers for every problem, and if someone is OOC'ly harassing you, get them banned, it's really not that hard.
  7. My only concern is raiders getting into chests, besides that, this will promote raids to be less cancerous for both sides, whether some people want to admit it or not. Before, when the raid cap was 4, people would only ever bring 4 cavalry or 4 full diamond with potions during off-peak times because it was the only way to win, and now you can actually bring other players to raids instead of only the best PvPers. There will actually be close fights, and the fights will be fair and fun. These rules promote dynamism at it's core. If you don't like being raided, people will have to build actual walls instead of OOC ones. They'll have to conduct in diplomacy, bribery. This only promotes more RP if you let it, instead of just looking at it like it's a cancerous blight. This is a step in the right direction and I hope we can at least get to testing the rules so we can see how much better they will be in practice then on paper.
  8. Oracle nods, "Some fellow hunters stalk the woods around Nordengrad now." She says.
  9. "You spelled the name you gave me wrong." Says a Dryad named Delia.
  10. “Thoromir.” A dryad inquired. Her face was devoid of emotion, she could have been staring through the men rather than at him, her deep blue eyes were wide and her expression was neutral, she appeared alien in that way. Her skin was covered in a dark thick bark that closely resembled her tree, the Ashwood, and her hair was made of autumn foliage. “Mm?” Mused Thoromir, the traditional norlandic man replied, black of hair and blue of eyes. He was dressed in his lordly attire, a modest red tunic to represent his people. The dryad shifted in her step, pointing to the brazier’s that surrounded the Ashwood tree. “It is spring.” She stated quite bluntly, and with this, the Earl’s eyes widened in realization, scrambling to the fires. “Do not worry,” the dryad spoke out once more, “it is about that time of year anyways. The tree should burn.” And it did. During the morn of the next day, a single ember was born of the flames in the brazier, and it traveled to the tree, within the blink of an eye, the tree erupted into an overwhelming blaze, it radiated blistering heat and through it all, the village was calm, it was used to this. For now was a time of celebration and renewal.
  11. [!] A post has been nailed to the noticeboard of Nordengrad The Ashwood Tree By The Ashen Lady The Ashwood tree is a deciduous plant related to the Elderwood tree, however it is far more strong, so strong in fact that there has been no proven ways found to shape the tree by any means, mundane or magical. As I had stated before; “A trebuchet would sooner fall into disrepair then bring any harm to my tree.” Adding on to this, explosives are ineffective, and so are axes, the metal of the axes would sooner break on the Ashwood’s bark then cause a scratch on it’s surface. there are more effective ways to harm the tree, but I will not be listing these offenses for obvious reasons. Ashwood trees are a danger to everything around them simply put, every year the tree lights itself ablaze in a glorious spectacle. This blaze has been known to catch the roofing of thatch housing, and start forest fires. This fire may cause other trees to light ablaze to clear up room for the Ashwood to plant it’s seed, the ash from these burned trees act as a powerful fertilizer, perfect conditions for the tree’s children to grow. Ashwood trees produce sap that is incredibly useful, it is both flammable and can disinfect and sterilize wounds or tools. The effects of the sap are incredibly potent, consuming it will cause you to become sluggish and in a general drunken state. If you attempt to extract this sap from my tree, I will kill you. If you desire some, you may ask me. In spring my tree will grow leaves, they will be yellow, orange and red in color, this season of birth and fertility is a time is to show the tree’s beauty, but the foliage will not stay long, and in fact this is the most dangerous time of year for those around the tree. One should be incredibly careful carrying flames around the tree as even the heat may cause the tree to erupt into flames. Should you brandish flames even in the form of a torch during this time near my tree, you will undoubtedly be beaten or slain. My tree is barely more than just a sapling, it will grow much larger, it will make the homesteads appear as if it’s a hobbit village, it’s inhabitants dwarves to it’s gloriousness. This tree will be here long after you die, and long after your grandchildren die, please be respectful of this archaic species for it is sacred. When it is to die, it will rage against the death of the glorious light, it will blaze in a spectacular glory for years until it is nothing, and be born again as a sapling. You have been learned of the tree, do not make the mistake of incurring my wrath, you have been warned.

  13. @DrHope Hey! I'm pretty interested in this lore actually. Any way we can get in touch? I'd like to help make it happen! ? I have a few ideas that could help it out. For example: Treat it like a disease and a curse, once the victim is inflicted with this blight, it eats away at them mentally, this is only natural once you start slowly realizing you aren't remembering things and going on hunts for both beast and man alike in the night. Additionally, the affliction could block ALL magic from the user regardless of in beast form or not and cause the user to scratch at it's skin and generally act more and more shifty as their hunger grows, like they are going through withdrawal from an addiction. (additionally, the victim would have only small time frames to have control of their form, for example, when they're hungry, or threatened.) I think Alpha's are a lame concept, and I always thought it would be cooler to have the option to be a lone wolf or be with a pack if you fancied the idea of your family having a dark secret. Would also be an interesting tidbit if you were able to be detected by certain animal, like cats would always hiss at you, and would also be very fun to have a weakness to silver, much like the undead are weak to Aurum.
  14. Oracle returns from a hunt, carrying the corpse of a stag over her shoulders, multiple arrows protrude from it's body. The dryad begins stringing the deer's carcass to one of the tree's strong branches, then begins using a small knife of bone to begin the process of skinning the animal, letting it's blood seep down into the pools and soil around the Ashwood tree. After she was done with her work, she left the skins to dry and stowed the meat so it could be cooked by the flames of the tree later. She sighed and wiped the sweat from her brow, between chasing the stag with her heavy bark skin and skinning it, she was completely exhausted. Finally after returning to her tree she catches wind of this notice, sighing deeply with relief, the people of Nordengrad had given her the respect to govern her tree properly against those who might bring harm to it.
  15. Oracle nods and heads back into the roots of the tree.
  16. "That coat of arms is a lot more noble then I once remembered it." Said Eirik Ruric from above.
