I've had that - three people sitting on a bench in the square of X. A halfling approaches - looks at the group, is emoted at... responds with a hello, gets some vodka, leaves: Then, 2 minutes later they complain place X has no RP.

...a sentence I've heard quite often recently. Partly due to the fact that we're late in the map and have a lot of groups. There is however another larger issue that is forgotten: RP cannot be found. RP needs to be created. At most times, all major groups have at least one person easy to spot the moment you walk into their city. Yes there is the chance they're afk. Usually they're not. That is what is needed - another person. One is enough. And then you start roleplaying. It gets boring because nothing is happening? Your fault entirely. You could have made your character do something interesting. All characters have the ability. Depending on the size of the city, or well: It's population, a few or sometimes 20 people will naturely join in, if something happens. And sometimes they'll join in even if its not that interesting. What you can do? Depends on your character, but a few ideas. - Have your character accidently walk into someone. - Play a child and run around people asking dumb question. - Have your character take offense by something - Just say hello your anti-social basement dweller - Challenge characters to cherry-spitting contests - Try and sell something. - Accuse them of being a known criminal - Literally do anything that comes into your mind and is in the boundaries of the rules Tldr; Stop being dumb and quit trying to find RP. Start creating RP! If RP is boring it's 90% your fault.

I mean - honestly? If places decide to be in the middle of nowhere, they should also take the downsides. I don't think it would really be fair otherwise, especially for established settlements.

...then a free horse for new players would be a much easier solution, wouldn't it be?

I think its quite irrelevant now that horses exist. I often purposfully ride to places I could SS to.

You cannot be able to start a mage, for example a Paladin Your metagaming and powergaming defintions are on the right track, but read again. Your characters personality needs negative traits as well. There is something else in this regard that I really think that needs to be mentioned. I will not go into the Twi topic - I'm personally biased here because she's my friend. Regarding Liobiletti, Hugh and Ryan, Nectorist, KP: KP got banned after years of knowledge about him doing bad things. Nobody seemed to care. Okay, better late then never. Kinda weird though. Nectorist and Lionbiletti profitted from that, though haven't caused it. Nobody complained besides KP. Obviously. Though it still seemed like a power grab. Next, Lionbiletti basically lost his civil war to Hugh. He reported Hugh for racism. A long time friend of his - really? Let's say Hugh was actually racist - I do not know, I can't tell. But simply the fact that a person waits till it benefits them in mineman politcs is really weird. Same story with Ryan... If you think people are so bad, report them the moment you have evidence, but don't wait till it benefits you.

The Server population has been the same as always. Unless you count the covid times as normal.

After the settlements are placed. I don't really have to add more. For me non of these three maps really were that much different, though I enjoyed the Almaris ones that most. But I'm the most biased person here considering I made probably half of them. I think it's quite intersting how many people actually liked them. In the last maps feedback post everyone hated on them like there's no tomorrow, hence the idea was removed.
