LevusAnderson 0 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Out-Of-Character Information The simplest section of the application! Simply answer these questions so we can get to know you a bit better. What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: - LevusAnderson How old are you?: - I am eighteen years old. What time-zone do you live in?: - Central Standard Time, USA. Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?: - I have role-played on Minecraft, Gaiaonline, and various mediums in between. Before Minecraft came out, I engaged in character and nation roleplay (I still do so…). Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?: - I have been on too many servers- some which were good, others not so much. My favorite server was a locale called Dragonsreach where it was an actual roleplaying environment, not a Heroes/NoItem environment where you had to grind for months on end to upgrade to iron tools from stone ones. On the other coin face, I've ran across servers which did not seem to know which lore they wanted to follow, making them too risky to invest hours worth of exploration into a server which would reset every two weeks. Have you applied to this server before?(Please link past applications): - No, I have not. How did you hear about us?: - I found this server on Minecraftforums.com What do you think the server will be like? - Far better than those servers which were indecisive, unreliable, or both. I appreciate how lore from previous iterations is integrated into new worlds rather than discarded to Limbo, never to be acknowledged again. Furthermore, I expect a decent-quality role-player base with whom I may chat inside the beat-up tavern. Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - I most certainly have read and agree to the rules postulated in the tab. What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: - "When you set your mine craft skin, make sure it suits your character and race - don't make something totally irrelevant, or non-roleplay. Please, also don't use a nude skin!" - Rule 06 ; I never understood the vogue behind wearing creeper skins, nor am I too enthralled with naked soldiers streaking through an Orcish encampment. At the very least wear a loincloth! DefinitionsThis is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is assuming the role of a character or related entity in which the primary goal is to contribute to a storyline through interacting with a world's inhabitants. What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is using OOC knowledge (I.e. Where that rift sword is hidden on the wiki, unless explicitly stated as IC common knowledge) for IC purposes, or even using OOC means of eavesdropping (Stalking on Skype) to find the IC location/quality of something. What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is the unauthorized control of another person's character to fulfill a certain task. This is not only extremely annoying, but it also eliminates the possibility of your opponent reacting to your character's actions, hence making your character overpowered. In-Character InformationNow you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. What’s your character called?: - Andrik Letik What race are they (and sub-race)?: - Andrik is a Northerner human. What sex are they?: - Male How old are they?: - Twenty-six Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): - Born in the year 1421 in the Month of the Deep Cold, Andrik's first six years were remarkably quiet save for his mother's death from puerperal fever after his sister's birth in 1423. His father was a farmer for most of his thirty year career, having dealt with Orcish and Dwarven cultivators often enough to earn a modest living. Mari, Andrik's sister, lived until her first birthday when a nasty pneumonia epidemic swept through Andrik's town, killing his sister as she drowned in her own fluids. Heartbroken, Andrik's father took the young boy with him as both males emigrated to Anthos amid the final wave, settling in Kingston just days shy of Andrik's fifth birthday. At least Andrik's father earned a subsistent living before the final wave of humans left Asulon, but illiteracy meant that the older man was excluded from his community's economic heritage, and so Andrik was sent to live with a master carpenter after reaching his seventh birthday to obtain an education his father desperately wished for his son. Andrik maintained his own stay by assisting the carpenter's mistress with her domestic chores and playing with his two adoptive brothers… Albeit the older boys often took advantage of Andrik during his first year of stay, forcing him to learn quickly the importance of self reliance by his ninth birthday: In the summers, Andrik applied his minuscule but expanding skill bank constructing canoes- inside which he read scriptures pertinent to The Faith while floating at his master's lake. On Andrik's tenth birthday, his technical training began within two weeks of celebration when his master assigned him a project: "From used willow logs and iron bands, construct for me a rigid brewer's barrel." Andrik locked in the final nail two weeks later as a crude-but-functional, cylindrical brewer's case sat on the family dining table. No less than impressed, the master deemed Andrik worthy of further instruction, split the revenue between his family and Andrik after selling the monstrosity to a local brewery; and called him Apprentice. Eight years passed, and Andrik's prowess with a planer, hammer and nails; and his medium gradually matched that of a journeyman's craft. One of the older boys left home to care for Andrik's ailing father, who was dying prematurely from a persistent throat infection which spread to his heart. Twelve projects, numerous books, and countless lines from The Faith's texts entered Andrik's record as a dependable craftsman, and the master, confident that his pupil mastered the fundamentals of his craft; set Andrik off to a plantation days away. This would be the last time they saw each other: Three days after Andrik left town, The Trog's finest warriors initiated Kingston's fall as the Krughai occupied the city in a single day. Among those killed in the crossfire included both of the master's children, Andrik's father, and numerous civilians unlucky enough to get in the way of the Krughai. Andrik, hearing of the news, successfully fought every urge to return, lest he would become a victim. One month after the attack, in the year 1439, the plantation's guild master bestowed the title of Journeyman upon Andrik, and so the young man took his tools and disappeared into the settlements. For eight years, Andrik wandered human and elven towns, keeping out of sight so as to avoid the possibility of getting targeted as a Kingston survivor affiliated with the former Salvan kingdom. He watched the starry skies one night, wondering whether it was worth continuing his sojourn or if he should settle down. He made a decision, packed his spare belongings, and left for whatever settlement would accept him. What are they like (personality)?: - Resilient and inquisitive, Andrik is a keen man who is focused on his craft. However, the Sacking of Kingston has left him embittered against his Orcish and Dwarven peers, possibly as a result of post-traumatic stress. What are their ambitions?: - Trained as a carpenter and experienced with an axe, Andrik seeks to establish his own workshop in hopes of capitalizing on his trade education. Even if he has to settle along the peripheries of an Orc camp, Andrik's profession, he hopes, would enable him to settle down in a less dangerous village or even join talents with his peers and found a new town. Do they have any special skills?: - Woodcutting/Carpentry: Trained from the age of fourteen by his paternal uncle, Andrik knows how to obtain and work lumber into trinkets, furniture and constructs. Literacy: Though by no means a poet, Andrik spent enough years under his master's tutor to obtain functional literacy in his village. What are their weaknesses?: - Andrik lacks combat training. Sending him into a bellicose town would mean wasting years of training to one lucky shot piercing Andrik's body. Andrik gets nervous whenever he goes for a long time without fulfilling a project. As such, he has a tendency to move from one location to another, exhibiting an apparent lack of loyalty to any empire's tenets. The Siege of Kingston made Andrik become hostile towards Dwarven and Orcish citizens- though especially Orcs- to the present day. As such, he would not work well on an interracial team. Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - No taller nor shorter than his peers, Andrik's body is tempered into a dirt-speckled form after years of studying inside his former master's workshop. A crooked, thin scar runs along from his right index finger's knuckle, around his middle arm, until the scar's tip touches his elbow. Given the possibility of working with basic metallurgy when nailing two planks of wood together, Andrik usually wears a blacksmith-like apron underneath his work clothes. Anything else you want to say about them?: - I have nothing meaningful to add from this point. Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: - http://i953.photobucket.com/albums/ae16/Unknown-Figure1/2013-12-09_161658.pngFantastic, there you go.
