Sorry if this is the wrong place to be posting this. I'm new here. Almost 24 hours ago I got my application accepted and then it said I had been whitelisted. And when I try to connect to the server it says: "Out dated server! I'm still on {0}

What IP are you using? I am currently using mc.lotc.co and it's working most of the time, although sometimes it does not connect. I have heard that there are some issues with connection for everybody, recently, so maybe there's some sort of internal issue that the techs are working on. If the IP that I gave you still does not work after multiple tries I would try PMing a tech or maybe a GM or Admin.

I am using the ip of mc.lotc.co even when I go to "add server" and use that method it says cannot connect to server

Try connectiong to '1.lotc.co'

Try downgrading your minecraft client to say, 1.7.2 . That should help.
