What’s the rule you agree with the most?: No Metagaming. It’s a disgusting thing in my opinion.

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is where you pretend to be something, like with acting. You do what they do and try to think what they think etc….  I would say the best way to describe it is just.. playing a role (probably why it was named so!)

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is where you take things you know, but your character does not and say your character does or play as if they do.

What is powergaming?: Powergaming is where you act as if you are all powerful and always win, not letting others respond to you or saying things such as “Jeffers steps forwards and snaps his neck.”

 

In-Character Information

 

Character’s name: Jacques de Norfolk

Character’s gender: Male

Character’s race: Human, Heartlander(Savoyard)

Character’s age: 26

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Jacques was born in the City of Leuvaarden, located in the County of Norfolk to a lowly Footman of the Order of Saint Amyas and a poor peasant woman.  As a child he often spent time around the Keep in the city, instantly attracted to the soldier’s duties and their typical actions and routines. Around the age of nine his mother took a cold and died, leaving him as practically an orphan with his father’s duties taking up the vast majority of his time.

 

When he had just reached the age of nineteen he enrolled in the Order himself, just before the war with Aesterwald, Urguan and the Orcs. Gaining a reputation on the battlefield for being a somewhat eccentric fighter he excelled in orders that involved protection, often throwing himself into the battle with a ferocity rarely seen. After the war ended he renounced his oaths with the Grandmaster’s permission and left to travel to Petrus - newly liberated.

 

He spent roughly a year in Petrus living above the local library, spending his time merely observing. Of particular interest to him was the subjects of economics and he studied in detail the works of stewards, businessmen and local peddlers - earning him a sharp mind if no longer as fit a body. Now having completed his various works of education he plans to return home to his cultural birthplace of Savoy.

Personality Traits: Jacques is a relatively mature man, and his recent reflection has made him more pensive than his former rash self. However, he upholds his national identity as a Savoyard with an uncommonly fierce pride - quick to anger if one insults the culture or a Savoyard. He tends to spend more time observing than engaging, and calculates his moves before he takes them/

Ambitions: Jacques aims to become a merchant, or a trader in the far future. While he does not believe he could ever rival Toveah Goldman, the famous Savoyard Saint, he aspires to be in his ilk. However, his ambition extends beyond just personal gain (though that is a truly major part), he desires to aid other Savoyards through his advances and is in such a way rather charitable.

Strengths/Talents: Jacques is a trained fighter, and has experience working in a unit. He is also educated in matters of reading, writing and bears a self-taught knowledge of basic economics on a street level. He tends to be able to run over the possibilities in a situation if he is calm enough to step back from its immediacy.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Jacques’ fighting style is erratic and agressive, often spontaneous and dangerous to both himself and those around him. His knowledge of history and literature is poor, having only been taught to read and write - not educated, and he is incredibly quick to anger if someone insults him or his culture.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Jacques stands at an average height of roughly 5’9’’. and is rather lean and light. He has brown hair, brown eyes and a slightly tanned skin tone. Often seen in travelling or more rough clothes it is common for him to have a pack slung over his shoulder with some base essentials.

Your application is hereby ACCEPTED, I applaud you on the amount of detail and time you've taken to create this submission. Though, found with minimal issues - Your application most certainly reaches the server's standard.

 

Backstory: Great job in implementing the server's lore into your backstory, evidently it's given you the ability to expand on the content and the amount of depth provided for your character. From my experience, your backstory is rather original.

 

Definitions: Your first definition is rather limited, though still correct, the latter and third are satisfactory and reach the standard.

 

Character: Acceptable, and applicable to the server. I quite enjoy how you managed to involve other profound characters into your application, as well as the server's history. Your application is good, almost too good.
