HISTORY

Childhood: Oldest of 7

Jakob Thaddeus Staedtler was born in Petrus' Raevtown, shortly following the exodus of Anthos. He was the oldest of 7 children, all of which lived in a small Raevtown home. Growing up, Jakob worked and ran errands at a young age to support his huge family. He was commonly found working or buying household products alone, from age 7, and at 9, learning from his father, hunting. He received a comprehensive, but poor, mathematics, language, and known science education from his stay-home mother, whom he spent a lot of time with in his work offtime.

When Jakob aged 10, the family moved to Aldersberg in search of a better life, as Petrus taxes were too much for this family of 9. To their dismay, they found little success, and moved from town to town, barely sustaining themselves on cheap and temporary jobs.

The situation improved for the Staedtlers as the children grew into young adults, and got jobs. When Jakob aged 23, the family settled down in Montfort, capital of the March of Adria. Jakob went on to found a business with their Montfort-residing cousins, the Keurigs. This business sold smithing items and various exotic goods.

Jakob enjoyed working at the smithy. He was around his family, cousins, and soon, friends. He gained many skills at hands-on tasks the company required. His life looked up. Then, on 9th First Seed, 1495, his whole life changed again. That evening, his work colleague, Stefan Keurig, sent him a note, via bird.

Reading it, his eyes widened. Stefan and his colleagues had found an abandoned, fully functional town called 'Embermoor', south of Karovia, and made the executive decision to occupy it. They planned to use the building-friendly land to make their own town.. and'd appointed him as the leader.

Jakob accepted the position, the Staedtlers moving immediately to the town, and naming it 'Diamant'. Reconstruction began, and the creepy old Embermoor was brightened. The Staedtlers and Keurigs were soon pressed with a decision, however. Who to join?

After long hours of debate, they decided to pledge allegiance to Oren.
