A Small Black Parchment

Following along common paths, upon the main road or otherwise, one might catch the glimpse of a small black parchment simply lying on the cold hard ground. It seems so unimportant, so irrelevant. If you weren't making a point to pick up any paper you find lying around, it would seem to be just any random piece of trash.

 

Should you choose to pick it up, you'll find that it does indeed contain a message.  The parchment seems slightly damaged, tattered by the elements it has been subjected to. Upon unraveling it, you'd find smeered and faint writing. Although a bit difficult to read, you can see it was written with caution and purpose.

 

"For too long have I chosen to remain silent and observe. It is time now that I hand to you my message. I will spare you of my name, as any names with value are an insult. I write this so that any who have the sense to find it understand: You can never be safe.

 

Do not take relief if Iblees is to be sent spiraling forever into darkness. For he was only a puppet to Him. If he finds his end, he is simply paying for what he asked for. For the origin of all darkness waits to strike again. The Empty One does not wade in the darkness... For He is the darkness itself."
