A fine parchment, framed back and sides by thin pieces of oak, is hung upon the local notice boards of Oren.

Searching for a Vintner & Vigneron

Hail and good tidings;

House Horen is pleased to announce the delivery of several different varieties of grape seeds, kept safe from the time of the Holy Oren Empire in Anthos and throughout the Exodus.

Winemaking has been an important part of Oren’s past, and these particular varieties each have their own history. House Horen is in possession of a reference book written by the old Imperial Vintner, who was in charge of Abresi’s stock of wines, both for cooking and drinking.

The three varities include: A deep purple grape known as ‘Black Dragon’, discovered by Knights of the Order of the Red Dragon during the early exploration of Anthos, and was used frequently to make a popular dry red wine. A very light green grape dubbed ‘Empress’, found in the barony of Ari Horen before she was married to Horen V. It was named after his coronation and a bottle of the wine produced from it presented as a celebratory gift, which she cordially accepted but did not imbibe, as she did not drink. Finally a dark, vivid maroon variety of grape, grown and kept since the time of Al’khazar. A favorite of Oren’s nobility in Aegisian times, this variety is referred to as ‘Pervanin Rossa’ or sometimes simply ‘Rossa’ or ‘Rossolino’.

With the arrival of these well-kept and storied grape varieties, Dragon’s Peak is in search of a Vintner and Vigneron; A winemaker and grapevine-keeper, two positions which may be one in the same.

The most suited candidate for either or both of these positions would have a strong background in a related field of some kind. They must be a good, loyal canonist, one who does not indulge over-much in the drink itself, but with a distinct palate for taste testing.

The accepted candidate would be provided a home at the base of Dragon’s Peak, and whatever supplies required in order for them to perform their duties. They will be educated on the proper making of wines in the historical fashion, and the caretaking of vineyards if necessary.
They will, of course, be invited to experiment on new and interested blends of wine and working in tandem with Dragon Peak’s local botanist, the selective breeding of specialty grape varieties.

Dragon’s Peak does not seek to mass-make wines, and in fact a very small, select amount will be made, and only of the highest quality. It will not be made widely available to taverns due to the small quantity, but while some portion of production will need to be provided to Dragon’s Peak in lieu of rent, the remaining portion can be sold at the Vintner’s whim to the nobility of Oren.

If interested, please inquire at Dragon’s Peak for Alicia Horen or place a notice on this posting and we will attempt to reply in a timely manner.

May you walk always in the Creator’s light.

((OOC:: Hello! I had an idea where I wanted to do some more thorough wine roleplay and such. If you’re someone interested in that or are contemplating a new character please give a post. Vineyard will be around the bottom of the peak in the nice sunny Valley area. Isn’t build up yet so if you’re not sure yet don’t worry, won’t be starting it for a little bit yet. Will be basically 100% roleplay because there is no wine plugin

Posted from tablet I am sorry no fancy stuff.))

Bigg'un wine cannot stand up t' the power of Hollowmead and Mousini grapes.

The bigg'uns do not ingest anything made with grapes squished by hairy halfling feet.

Fumble notifies the ignorant bigg'un that they have a rule to wipe said feet before squishing!

Would be willing to create a new halfling to make wine, maybe we could get a GM to make a special drink like normal Mulled wine but renamed

I'd be interested in picking up a new character. My current one is getting a bit stale. I'm GMT but should still be around for American prime times since I know most of you lot are. Pop me a PM on the forums if you still need someone.
