What is roleplaying?: Playing as or pretending to be someone else, in an imaginary scenario with imaginary settings

What is metagaming?: Using out-of-game information to an advantage against others or anything in general

What is powergaming?: Developing a character in an unbalanced way in order to win, while ignoring aspects of role-play such as story, character development and interaction with other characters. Generally considered negative due to its unsportsmanlike and lack of realism (within the story.) 

 

In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

 

Character’s name: Lan Callahan

Character’s sex: Male

Character’s race: Human

Character’s age: 20

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Lan was found on the streets of Felsen by Maccus Callahan, where he was taken in and given a bed and food. As he and Maccus began doing things together, Maccus claimed Lan to be his brother, which he now is a Callahan. As Maccus remained in Felsen to serve as city guard, Lan headed outside the city to explore what the world had to offer, visiting places such as Adria, the lands of the High elves, and the vicious Orcish territory.

When he returned to his brother in Felsen, much had changed, and Lan starts to learn the new ropes of the city and its new people. Temporarily joining the kingsguard before Oliver's death, where he moved to the newly stated county of carnith, made by prince Gereon.

Personality Traits: Calm, giving, enjoys company

Ambitions: to follow his brother to success

Strengths/Talents: Skilled fighter, good listener

Weaknesses/Inabilities: A strong moral code developed on his adventures makes it difficult for him to do the dirty work or break the law, even when necessary.
