What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is making a character with it's own unique traits and personality, using it to interact with other characters in an expansive universe.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using OOC information IC.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is doing things outside of your character's ability, doing unrealistic things, or forcing emotes on others (*shakes hand*).

 

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

 

Character’s name: (what do you want your character to be called?): Althalos (ah-thuh-loss) Chaucer (cha-ser)

Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!): 24

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.): Althalos was meant to be a merchant (due to the fact that he was born and raised in Sutica), but one day that all changed. In 1524, coincidentally the same day that Grand King Skippy was assassinated by the Dark Elves, Amber Wolves attacked his house. He ran and ran leaving everything else behind. He knew that if he was stronger he could have prevented that whole thing. He lived homeless on the streets of Sutica. He slightly befriended a lone Amber Wolf which is kind of ironic. He didn't know what they were at the time, so he cared for it. That's when he started his small stealing career. It was just small things at first, but as he got older, he started stealing gold, gems, etc.(p. 2) Many years later, a group of long gone "heroes" found him. They raised Althalos and trained him. There was an archer (whom Althalos hated), a swordsman (whom was his favorite), and a wizard (whom he never trained with. Althalos took the training very serious, and he never quit. Now he is a swordsman himself, and wants to learn some magic. Now, he resides in Istria, waiting for evil to find him.        

 

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?): Althalos loves sword-to-sword combat and sucks with any long-ranged weapons. He is layed-back (as in calm and cool), but can get angered easily.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?): He has always wanted to be the hero, or at least someone known. Maybe if he'd stop hiding from his past then he could become known.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?): Althalos is great at coming up with strategies and he is good at stealing non-expensive-but-still-money-making items.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?): Althalos needs to work on long ranged attacks. He has horrible aim and would be lucky to even get close to the target. He is also bad at working as a team. He has always gone alone so he isn't used to it.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?): Althalos is roughly "6, 4" and has dark-brown hair. He wears a black tunic and leather shoes when stealing or hanging around, but wears a leather shirt, golden boots, and a straw-hat when doing other things such as shopping or fishing. Most of the time though, he wears grey amour.
