What’s the rule you agree with the most?: The no meta-gaming rule. It makes things far more fair and realistic and I probably wouldn’t be applying if it weren’t one.

What is roleplaying?: Acting as a made up character that perhaps you created as if you were that character. Your actions will be directly influenced by the character you are portraying.

What is metagaming?: Taking information from the “real world” or information that your character did not learn whilst you were roleplaying as him/her and then using it while roleplaying as your character as if your character did obtain this information whilst you were roleplaying him/her.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Taking complete power of a situation while letting nobody else influence the fate of the situation. Powergaming is usually performed during quarrels where the victim has something that the attacker wants. It is completely unfair because it doesn’t allow the victim to influence their fate.

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.):

     Rhyaak is a bastard child born in a port town far to the west of Salvus. His early years were spent peacefully with his mother in a small country house inland of the port town. About 14 years after his birth his mother became ill with a terrible sickness. It was okay for a while until it grew worse. She was bedridden, forced to lay until her time had come. She sent Rhyaak off to live with his father in a pirate’s cove near the port town’s docks. Upon arrival, Rhyaak was greeted by an abusive brown haired, middle aged man who reeked of alcohol and tobacco smoke. They lived in a two room shanty next to the cove’s docks where shady merchants would come to do shady business. Rhyaak learned to keep his mouth shut and only speak when spoken to. His father got jobs wherever he could. Since they lived next to the docks these jobs usually meant he would go off sailing for days on end. Most of the trips were made to the wood elven town of Laureh'lin. His father would drunkenly ramble onto him about its giant trees and massive walls before yelling at him about some unfinished chore that was never mentioned in the first place. Rhyaak was used to his father coming home drunk and him spending all of his money on rum and women at the local swinger’s saloon. When his father would run out of money he would beat Rhyaak until he gave up his own.

     Rhyaak usually worked for the merchants and pirates that would dock for the day. If it was a merchant’s ship he would accept food and other goods as payment and if it was a pirate’s ship he would ask for sword fighting lessons in return. Rhyaak would distract himself when he wasn’t working by sparring with the other poor kids that lived in the cove. Rhyaak dreamt many nights of being able to wield his own dwarven forged sword from the heart of Kal'Akash. It’d been rumored that their blades are made for, and are only to be wielded by master swordsmen.

     Once on a particularly hot day after Rhyaak had finished cleaning a docked merchant ship’s deck he wandered to a lower deck in attempts to escape the scorching sun. He laid under the stairwell to rest for what he meant to be only a short while. When he awoke it was night and he was on the sea between his cove and the Isles of Vailor. For 3 days he stayed concealed in various places on the ship only coming out at night for morsels of food and water. Upon arriving at the Caliphate docks, Rhyaak jumped overboard and swam to the shore. He spends his days wandering Vailor roaming the lands searching for sword fighting lessons and places to stay.

 

Personality Traits: Rhyaak prides himself on being quick on his feet and being skilled with a sword for his age. He’s very expressive about his views and rarely censors his opinions. Ryhaak was never taught how to properly act and speak. His rough upbringing taught him how to take complete control of his emotions.

 

Ambitions: Rhyaak constantly daydreams about the stories he heard pirates and merchants telling at the cove. He wants to sail the seas and lead the life of a pirate. A life filled with adventure, treasure and danger at every turn. Furthering his sword fighting skills is also a primary goal.

 

Strengths/Talents: For his age he’s excellent with a sword. His lanky stature makes him quite quick on his feet. He understands that the quickest way to finish a job is to start one. Most of his skill rests in his sword fighting ability as that’s where most of his time is spent.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Rhyaak’s overly adventurous nature makes him very impulsive and reckless. This combined with his lack of etiquette makes him give off that gritty pirate essence. He constantly finds himself getting mixed up with the wrong people. Rhyaak’s over expressiveness causes him to get very easily depressed and irritable when he has to suppress his audacious nature. This causes him to be overly verbally abusive to his peers from time to time.

 

Appearance: Rhyaak stands at about 6’4”. He has thick brown hair and bright yellow eyes. He wears a dark bandana around his head as well as a pair of goggles. A gray hood is worn around his neck. His clothes are ragged and his hair is quite messy. Rhyaak’s build is average. He’s got many various tears in his clothes as well as the cuts and scrapes to match. Most from sword fighting.
