A Grisly Murder in Johannesburg.

A Grisly Murder..

 

 

A darkening sky looms overhead as storm clouds begin to gather above the capital city of the human empire. An unsettling quiet lingers in the back streets of the city as if the city itself can feel the horrific nature of the events that have just transpired. In one of the back alleys of the city a man by the name of Daemon finds himself stumbling upon the scene of a grisly murder. The body of an old and frail man, a follower of Aeriel, lays sprawled out on the floor beneath a beautifully carved statute. His hands clasped around a small golden mongoose necklace hanging loosely around his neck, clearly trying to desperately protect the necklace in the horrifying last moments of his life. Dark crimson blood pools around his limp form, his throat completely eviscerated by what appears to be a broken bottle of wine laying discarded to the side of the street.

 

Bloody footprints lead off deeper into the back alleys before completely fading out of existence, washed away by the torrents of rain as the darkening skies above release their burden upon the city below. The last signs of the attacker washing away without a trace. The only clues as to who it may be are a piece of an orange sash hanging upon a bush near the scene of the murder and a long piece of brown hair.

 

Upon the old mans forehead a symbol is carved.

 

A broken skull with a dagger through the middle.

 

What could this mean? Is this just the beginning of a something more sinister?
