What is roleplaying?: acting as how your current character would act in a certain situation depending on how the character was made. There are many forms from larping to board game roleplay, such as DnD.

What is metagaming?: using information that your character should not have, to put yourself in an advantageous position.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: powergaming to me would be forcing RP on a character not wanting to partake or an unfair scenario (im god can't be killed etc, type of RP for example).

Biography : (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.)

              Our story begins with Pelagius born in the year of 1524, year of the blackened sun. In the City-State of Sutica, who's mother did not live to share the fate of life but death, during his birth. Living a hollowed life with little to no purpose, with only his father cursing him nearly everyday for his mother's death; along with being constantly reminded his mom also shared the same birthday saying he was a curse. Eventually Pelagius was cast out into the world while his father looked to be remarried, and Pelagius along with any mentions of him removed from the manor during that time. Pelagius was shipped to a boarding school in the heartlands were he naturally took to learning and scribing books. Never getting particularly close to any other student, he often took part in theoretical magic studies. He also loved challenging people on their definitions of good and evil along with morality which followed. He often claimed the word, evil itself was an ethos and pathos benefit to good. He explained that the harder the forces of "good" would push the stronger reaction to create freedom, from these morality constraints would grow. While in school these long and constant debated arguments, often alienated him from clerics and white magic users. He felt no pity for his fellow students, who's schooling was most likely paid for by religious institutions and thus influenced their way of thinking. He felt the harder it was to tell someone something, the more it needed to be said regardless and the world was not simply black and white.

 

              Now at age 23 Pelagius now out of school lacking funds, seeks real world application of not only his theories but the study of all arcane magical arts. At an average height of 5-10 with brown hair and inquisitive hazel eyes. Dawned in a red and black robe completely covering his features, which was given to him as a joke by a student to suggest he was evil. He now set off on his travels to study and record with furious fanaticism the way of magic. From healing to dark magic he aims not only to alter his own destiny but others around him, along with hoarding as much information as possible. He boards a ship preparing to leave on its voyage, quite tired from the walk he heads down to the lower quarters to sleep on his bunk. As minutes turn to hours, someone opens his cabin's doors and a shadow morphs into his drowsy eye's view. Only to push a pillow over his face and among his muffled unanswered screams, his vision fades to black and his body goes limp...

Bookworm / knowledge seeker - enjoys reading and creating books (can be fanatical about it).

Dislikes - people's thoughts on black and white morality, only good and evil. People's inability to understand his pursuit of knowledge despite the contents origin.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?)

A Keeper of knowledge and a mage in some form to defend that knowledge.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?)

Books and the intelligence required to read and write them.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?)

People, He's not a strong people person and very wary of of others.

Assumed cursed one, many people once hearing his story believe he is cursed in some way. Or he just has really bad luck and thus avoid him.

Brown hair, hazel inquisitive eyes, height at 5-10.
