Man of Respect 5471 Share Posted October 22, 2016 "The ones whom seek nothing but merely bones are the bearded vultures." An orcish plead during the genocide. Once upon a time A proud kin stood, father. We were young, oh, how we were young! Pillaging houses, raiding settlements, murdering innocents, burning houses and breaking men of a weak will. We were once strong people, father, powerful and mighty, cursed by Iblees to endlessly wage war against our enemies, but blessed by the creator to not bend our knees. Some have already felt on their putrid knees that are so easy to bend and bow to simple humans. I've never and I shall never bow my head while my conscience exists, not even to the spirits if they demand so, father, not even to you. Pride, pride father, pride was what hath lead us to our doom, and I like this pride, father, it allows us to keep our honor. An axe strong enough can last for eras, but with time, they will be chipped, rustied, and eventually, broken, scattering it's many pieces across the earth, being known as a legend. These axes are held by one that we give the power to; give it to someone strong and he'll make use of it even when it becomes something akin a dirk, or give it to someone weak and he'll use it poorly. This axe has been on my hand for two years, father, and I do not really know what happened during that time I held it, but, with time, we became more violent. It's our nature, father, it can't be changed; I wouldn't dare to pacify the axe, nor would I want to. But if you swing it too much, the enemy's axe will swipe, father, bigger, thirstier, angrier. We have served the axe, but it's time to retire the axe; there's no more handle, only the blade. It needs a sucessor, father, a strong one, one that won't succumb to the false claims of the humans, one that won't bow his head, one that won't hide from the pillagers, but an intelligent one that will fight the pillagers off. I have a feeling that I must broom together the broken pieces of the axe and make it anew. It won't be the axe of Krug, nor any special tool, nor a feather as I plead for clemency or understanding to foreign brutes. I will forge a new axe instead, father. Have the strong-willed take the iron, the intelligent shape the iron, and the sage pick the branch. With them, father, the once upon a time shall become today and forever.
