SECTION I - SUSPECTED ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT OF HIGH PONTIFF JOHANNES I

 

High Pontiff Johannes received a letter from one of the councillors of suffonia on The Deep Cold, 1742 requesting that he travel to Warwick Castle in order to officiate a marriage and then bless a sick man who was of high stature in the Archduchy. The ceremony went smoothly and the congregation soon separated, with it mostly being people who traveled from Orenian settlements. Johannes then moved into the clinic where the Archduke of Suffonia was laying on his sickbed. This was a clinic with not very many exits or room. The Archduke requested that the Pontiff bless him so that he might recover from his illness that was ailing him.

 

This was when multiple armed assailants appeared in the clinic, charging straight to the Pontiff who was performing the man's blessing. There were various Suffonian guards present such as REDACTED and REDACTED. Witness reports stated that when these assailants broke into the clinic, many of these guards turned their nose and managed to slip away from the conflict. The Pontiff managed to escape the assassins with grave injuries, it is believed that his cause of death is related to this incident.

 

During our investigation I spoke with an individual, who is currently a Councillor of Suffonia, John Nicholas who, when I asked about potential Suffonian involvement, denied it completely and cited that the Archduke sustained an injury to his eye. This was very confusing for an assassins goal is to kill and I find it unfathomable that an assassin managed to stab out the Archdukes eye but not harm more or kill him, to that matter.  Both an Haensetic and Church investigation lead to Suffonia being seen as a highly suspected benefactor for these assassins. There are two possible motives to this assassination attempt on the Pontiff, which are the following:

 

- To place the Pontiff in a situation in which the Archduke saves him in order to gain favour or possible sainthood in the future

-  Suffonia are followers of The Great Deceiver and wished to put an end to the head of the Canonist Church.

 

Either of these two possible motives are rather startling and what initially placed doubt on Suffonia’s faithfulness.

 

SECTION II - CONFIRMED SUPPORT FOR THE EXCOMMUNICATED TEMPLARS

 

The templars, a group initially formed on protecting Canonist travelers on the road and rooting out heresy, alas it devolved into nothing more than your average rag-tag group of soldiers but posing as a church-ordained holy order. The Templars refused to cooperate with the church and subsequently joined the AIS when they received an unfounded rumour that Oren had a desire to siege Brunswick. They were subsequently excommunicated for orchestrating a schism against the Canonist Church. In the Golden Bull which excommunicated them, it warned that all those who support these people, militarily or any other way, would face the same consequences.

 

I find it unfathomable that men who proclaim to be the most devout and pious of people, can at the same time, support those who spit upon GOD and his church. The Archduke of Suffonia proclaims himself a righteous and pious man of GOD yet has no second thoughts about welcoming Templars into his palace and amongst his people. I appreciate that they are allies as per the AIS treaty, however if the Archduke was as pious as he proclaims, he would put his faith and soul above his earthly desires, alas he did not. This furthered our beliefs that Suffonia was falling into the shroud of The Great Deceiver. The Archduke cared not that he was damning the souls of his people to further his own ambitions and agenda. This was one of the main contributing factors which lead to our decision to withhold the coronation ceremony from the Archduchy of Suffonia.

 

SECTION III - CONFIRMED SUPPORT FOR THE CHILD-MURDERERS OF LORRAINE

 

Lorraine, a name which once held esteem, honour, piety and meaning, now all men think of when they hear the name are petty highwaymen and barbarity.  Do not get me wrong, I was around their old castle opposite Adria and witnessed the barbaric acts at the hands of Ser John. I still to this day believe that Lorraine did not act first, they fought to keep the roads safe from bandits daily but were forced to become what they loathed in order to survive. Alas, now that they resurfaced they are filled with hate and rage against the Imperium, they have even resorted to abducting the Cardinal of Helena in order to fill their coffers. I recall hearing about when the noble men of Metz and the Soldiers of St. Lucien fought together in the name of GOD against norlandic invaders during the third crusade. Metz then transformed into the home of the Holy Mother Church.

 

It is deeply saddening to see that now these men have returned after surviving Ser John’s wrath, they are full of anger and lust for vengeance. In their lust for vengeance they have committed acts of utter barbarity including the brutal murders of children, children who are inherently innocent by nature. They do not understand the war that surrounds and envelopes their homes, they are unable to defend themselves. They have abducted two men of the cloth in order to bolster their coffers, with little regard to their spirituality and soul, I weep for the men of Lorraine.

 

All good hearted canonists of the realm would speak out against such barbarity, innocent people who are not even a part of the AIS vs Oren war are targeted on the road for sport. The Archduke of Suffonia was once a man a pious man who gave up all his earthly possessions and palace in order to be a true and devout follower of GOD, urging his people to follow the Canonist Church and GOD’s teachings. Yet today the Archduke tosses this all aside in his lust for a golden crown and relevance. The Archduke of Suffonia supports these men who are so riddled with hate and vengeance that they deem the murder of innocent children as righteous, for that he is utterly deplorable and only speaks to how far he has fallen from grace. This is of course, being a major contributing factor to withhold coronation from the Archduke of Suffonia.

 

SECTION IV - CONFIRMED SUPPORT IN THE EXECUTION AND MURDER OF CANONISTS AT THE HANDS OF PAGANS

 

The ongoing war between the AIS member states and the Orenian Empire envelopes most if not all of the realm. The Archduchy of Suffonia chose to desert the Canonist realm alongside Curonia, who later rejoined, deserting their oath to the Pax Orenia, this in a lust for importance, a common occurrence. The Archduke of Suffonia and his councilmen proclaim themselves to be the most fervent of believers in our almighty Lord, GOD and yet they so easily throw away canonist lives needlessly. The Archduke cited ridicule, ignorance on Oren’s side and being blocked from parliament as his reasons for leaving Pax Orenia, all minor in most people's eyes. Yet the Archduke has a most profound sense of importance, he believes he deserves the world because of his past support for Oren.

 

Thus the Archduke forces his archduchy to side alongside a pagan alliance hellbent on ending our way of life. Not only does he condemn his own soul, he condemns the men and women who fight for him, forcing them into a war they should not have to fight in. Let us take a look back at a letter that Edward wrote to the people of Suffonia, back when he had less military backing as he does currently.

The archduke speaks of his regret at shedding canonist blood needlessly and so he turned to a life of GOD and urges his people to do the same, but now that he has more soldiers he became blinded with lust for power and relevance in the history books. He himself, as he believed others were, has fallen victim to the lies of heretics and pagans, forcing his men to fight against Canonist men and women. Fighting alongside men who act with such barbarity, alas the archduke does not even bat an eye as children and women are abducted from the roads, tortured and gutted for their own amusement. How can any man call themselves canonist when they support such abhorrent acts.

 

SECTION V - PERFORMING THE HOLY RITE OF CORONATION ON ONESELF

 

This whole debacle began when His Holiness received a letter from the council of the Archduchy of Suffonia requesting that he coronate Edward Suffolk as King of Suffonia. Due to the previous pages of my report, we refused to do such a ceremony for the time being. The Holy Canonist Church does not simply coronate anybody who wishes just because they have been around for a little while, otherwise we would have dozens upon dozens of Kings and Queens, no. A King or Queen must be of high moral standing and a Canonist, we do believe that Edward Suffolk fell to the whispers of The Great Deceiver a long while ago and was deep within his web of lies and deceit, too deep to climb back out or reach with rope.

 

Edward Suffolk was once a noble canonist who gave up everything he owned in service to the almighty, this was a more peaceful era. Over time the Edward Suffolk we knew changed, he began to grow more and more paranoid as he did age. He became distant and began hoarding items collecting from evictions, he later collapsed and fell into a coma after hearing of his son's death. He awoke years later, we believe this contributed to his intense paranoia. Alongwith the reasons listed, we were unable to crown a man who was so mentality unstable and ill, a man with no emotion, no remorse and no morals, a man who has fallen so far from GOD.

 

After receiving his council received a response from the Pontiff, refusing to hold the ceremony for Edward, they announced a coronation would be held anyway, in complete violation of established Canonical Law. After contacting every bishop of the church and bombarding them with lies and threats in order to have the ceremony held, they decided to crown themselves, much like the Staunton king of Helena many years ago. Even Godric of Norland acknowledges that all Canonist kings and Queens have to be crowned by the Holy Canonist Church otherwise they are considered illegitimate, alas this matters not to Edward for all he cares about is power, relevance and wealth. Canonical Law is quite clear, in order to be crowned King or Queen you must be the following:

- Those to be coronated must be Canonist.

- Those to be coronated must be deserving of their station, as decided by the discrimination of the pontificate.

 

As neither criteria has been met, the coronation that Edward Suffolk held for himself backs all legitimacy. Furthermore, no bishop may hold a coronation without the strict approval of the High Pontiff, and since it was neither conducted by a bishop, with approval, or the High Pontiff, or any ordained clergymen for that matter, this only proves to us that Edward Suffolk cares not for the sanctity of his soul and willingly condemns it to the void in order to experience the earthly pleasures of the realm, lust, greed and wroth.

 

SECTION VI - CONDEMNING THE SOULS OF SUFFONIAN CITIZENS TO THE VOID

 

As I have already clearly established in this report, Edward Suffolk is a man who has fallen so far from GOD I fear he can never return. He willingly condemns his soul to the void without batting an eyelid, all so he can be noted down in the history books. But I believe that even if the AIS wins this war, the Canonist Church shall persevere as it always has, we may have a time of temporary inactivity or hiding, but we will resurface as we have done in the past, as we must do. Edward Suffolk and the Archduchy of Suffonia will forever be marked in all ecumenical history books and documents as a nation who deserted GOD, a man who deserted GOD, a man who plotted the assassination of a Pontiff in his lust for sainthood and to be revered.

 

Edward Suffolk knowingly leads his people into the jaws of the great deceiver, as the puppet pulls his strings, Edward does move. Leading his people as shepherd into sin and damnation. By forcing his soldiers to swear fealty to him as King and Kingdom, he forces them to condemn themselves to the void. By forcing his people to refute the Canonist Church and our Lord, GOD, he knowingly condemns them to the void. For this is Edwards true nature, he cares not for the spirituality of his people, cares not for their well-being, so long as he gets to keep his golden crown and titles, all his well in the Archdukes eyes.

 

SECTION VII - ANALYSIS OF EDWARD SUFFOLK 

 

As I come closer to the end of my report, and with all the evidence surrounding me, I can safely say that the Archduke Edward Suffolk is a controlling narcissist with a superiority complex. The man has little regard for those around him, only for himself. He believes himself deserving of crowns and riches, simply because he exists, his own inflated self-ego causes him to lash out at those who fail to praise him for his genius. He has a deep need, a requirement perhaps, to be noticed, to be the topic of discussion simply for the fact that he is mentioned, he becomes relevant. Perhaps I am guilty of entertaining his narcissism by publishing this report and for that I shall pray for his speedy recovery, if he is able to escape the web sewn by the great deceiver. He has failed in almost any relationship he has had, strangely living to be over 100 years of age, one could attribute this to the sway that the Great Deceiver has over this man. This was evident when he attended an Orenian court some time ago and was noted to be overly flirtatious with much younger women. One might consider that this man is impotent, has to make up for this loss via receiving pleasure from leading his people into the void. I believe this all began when Edward was forced to pitch up his small county in a small tent encampment outside of Curon. During this time he went into Curon where nobody would ever pay him much notice, demanding mina from the cities inhabitants in order to fund his own ambitions. I believe this set back triggered Edwards narcissism and superiority complex. 

 

The man lacks any emotion, empathy or morals, hence why the Archduke does not even bat an eyelid at the brutal murder of children. He is by definition, a psychopath. I fear for the safety of Suffonia’s populace whilst they are led by such a dangerous and unstable man.

 

SECTION VIII - CONCLUSION

 

This report explains why the Canonist Church took the hefty decision to excommunicate Edward Suffolk and refuse to coronate him King of Suffonia. As is shown by the Archdukes own words, he will not stop killing other canonists and supporting those who do, such as the clergy-kidnappers in Lorraine, until he has the crown of Curon, a claim he has no right to. Greed and power being the only thing that drives this man. I however do make clear that only Edward Suffolk and his illegitimate heirs have been branded excommunicate, the people of Suffonia are not. The Archduchy of Suffonia is not excommunicated, only its archduke. 

 

Therefore I urge the vassals of Suffonia to reject this false king and sinful man, I advise you take your own dukes advise, as is written in his own letter to the Suffonian people:

 

“I urge all of thee to follow the true Canonist path to save thy immortal souls and find happiness. Detach from thy earthly possessions, entrust them to the wise hands of the Canonist Church, and let happiness fill the void left by them.”
