WHEN SOLDIERS BOND

The wedding of Aplex Wynn and Jacquelyn Cenobia

9th of the Amber Cold, 1759

 

The Chapel of Selm was bustling once more for the wedding of Sergeant Wynn and Corporal Cenobia, with most of the Imperial State Army gathered to witness the ceremony of today’s minister: Bishop Krisztián of Ves.

 

Sergeant Wynn stood nervously aside from Krisztián, staring at his beloved Jacquelyn slowly approaching the Chapel’s altar. They both weren’t used to the luxurious wedding attire, but felt comfortable nonetheless: for this was their day. 

 

Krisztián began to speak of their cultural differences, one being from the moral wildlands of Sutica and the other from the Empire’s heart, Helena. He then proceeds to give the man a ring on a scarlet pillow, and the woman a ring on a purple pillow. After they both held the pillows, he spoke the rite to the man and to the woman, reaffirming their vows. After placing the ring on each other’s fingers, they held hands on top of the outstretched hand of the Bishop, who then spoke: “With the power invested to me through GOD and the Holy Church of the Canon, I, Bishop Krisztián of Ves, with all before me as your witness, proclaim you husband and wife”. With that, the Groom kissed the Bride: and the realm had one more faithful couple to rejoice themselves over.
