Good evening all, some of you may know me, some of you may not, so I will begin this notice with an introduction. I am Amaury Boucher Fournier, recently appointed Headmaster of the Imperial Academy and the Imperial Library, as-well as the Court Tutor of Natural Philosophy for the Novellen Palace. When I assumed the position of Headmaster, I made a pledge to the Imperial Office of Civil Affairs and the citizens of this fine empire, that I would get the university system up and running again. That is what I intend to do. These times are rapidly changing, and so too must we in order to adapt, more and more techniques within the realm of Natural Philosophy are being developed and we are truly in a golden age of learning and progress. My plan is to have the Holy Orenian Empire at the forefront of that progress.

 

Now, on to the matter at hand. One of my first official acts as Headmaster of the Imperial Academy was to order an institutional-wide review into the conduct and dealings of my predecessor, who appears to have skipped town, never to be heard of again. While conducting this review, an unauthorized section of land was discovered nestled in the underbelly of the hallowed hall of knowledge. As soon as this was brought to my attention, I informed my superiors within the Imperial Office of Civil Affairs, and went to investigate. It would appear as though it was some sort of group, long-since disbanded. While I cannot confirm, nor deny, my predecessor’s involvement in this hidden organization, I can tell you that the organization is no longer active. This presented a unique opportunity for the library, instead of us expanding outside of the walls, we were able to find a large swathe of land right under our feet, in a literal sense. As soon I as received approval from the newly appointed Secretary of Civil Affairs, I went to work. I started dismantling this headquarters and or whatever it was, and began replacing it with rooms of knowledge and learning, which I dubbed His Imperial Majesty’s Laboratorium.

 

The preliminary structure of His Imperial Majesty’s Laboratorium is as follows;

 

• Three lecture halls, with one being occupied by the art of anatomy,

• Two Investigationems, with one being occupied by the art of chemics,

• Two offices for full time faculty,

• One study room.

 

While this may not seem like a lot, it truly is a massive facility. One which will put our empire at the helm of natural philosophical research. The Laboartorium is still under renovation, but I felt it prudent to announce our intentions so that we may hire the required staff. Which brings me to my next point, that being the staff we are looking for, not only for the Laboratorium, but for the Imperial Academy as a whole. The following positions are being developed, with funding, scholarly opportunities, and responsibilities still being negotiated, however we are looking for talented academics and individuals to fill the aforementioned positions, which are;

 

• Associate Professor of Chemics, 

• Associate Professor of Astronomy and Astrology,

• Associate Professor of Natural Philosophy,

  • An addendum on this position being, any individual with experience in any art within the realm of Natural Philosophy may so apply for the Associate Professorship of Natural Philosophy.

• Apprentice Scholar of Chemics,

• Apprentice Scholar of Astronomy and Astrology,

• Apprentice Scholar of Natural Philosophy,

• Page.

 

For the positions of Page, any individual no matter the age may apply and be granted the position should their qualifications and desires be up to par, and should the assigned parents and or guardians provide legal permission.

 

For the positions of Apprentice Scholar, any individual of adult age may apply and be granted the position based on the discretion of the Associate Professor of that specific art. 

 

For the positions of Associate Professor, any individual of adult age, who is an esteemed and distinguished scholar in their respective field, may be granted the position based on the discretion of the Headmaster of the Imperial Academy.

 

In addition to the previously mentioned points, the Laboratorium will also be used by the Imperial Practitioner-General and their staff, to put them at the forefront of Medical Education. My hopes for this announcement is that it reinvigorates our golden age of learning with the Empire, and solidifies a foundation for the future generations. An additional missive will be sent out at a later date which will relay additional information, and provide notice on other teaching opportunities that are not within the realm of Natural Philosophy.
