~A N N O   D O M I N I  1860~

I, Wilhelm Lucius d’Arkent, hereby officially abdicate my position as Baron of Carrington to my first born child and daughter, Coraline Antonia d’Arkent with hopes she will prosper as Baroness.

Having been made a Baron at the mere age of seven upon the death of my father, I have had a lifetime of mistakes, and a fair share of time in the spotlight whether it be good or bad. For that reason, I am happy to finally be Mister d’Arkent for the first time since I can remember. I wish to thank everyone who supported me and my family, as it has not been an easy time as Baron. I’ve had to deal with title stealing brothers and the friends who turned to support him. A mother who left me in my time of needing her most, and a sister who would become the face of a rebellion.

In the end, I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. It was worth every second of fighting, tears, and betrayals.

To my daughter, Coraline, I have great faith you will be the next Mary Lucille. I will always be around when you need me, for advice or whatever comes your way. The same goes for the rest of my children, Amadea and Charles. I hope to spend my new retirement enjoying my grandchildren.

Thank you.

Signed,

Wilhelm Lucius d’Arkent

A creature in the undergrowth peers out into the incessant gleam of the light, a vague recollection falling— upon his mind. That day wasn’t the same silence it had been prior.

To the new Baroness, he walked.
