Royal Poetry Volume 2 - Leopold

Foreword

Inspired to write his next piece of Royal Poetry, Felyx Colborn sets the aged Prince Franz Leopold in his visage - otherwise nicknamed the Oracle. This would be a difficult poem to write, although by all accounts it may be worth the process... That is for the reader and receiver to decide...

'Leopold'

An orb, levitated and perfectly shaped

Amidst a forest your very breath smothers-

A whistling wind contours the berate

And a blackness threatens to consume all your brothers.

Yet in desolate coal the bones whip with strength,

From tip of toe to the crown, all the length -

A figure appears in the mist with a cane

To whisper the truths like none other.

A Lord of the Shadows, his heart echoes golden,

In his hand the honesty of life he does weigh -

In the folds of his mantle his lifeblood unstained

With each bated breath, the beholden.

Below naked feet: a pattern of brown,

Perfect in chaos of seasons.

Yet soft tread the soles 'twixt borders and rivers

They smother the land of the heathens.

That land which God has shaped; that beautiful orb in the clearing awaked.

The servant by the leave of the Peerless can see - his eyes unclouded like none other.

Even in Death the man's sight in the sphere does not shiver - nor by Cupid's quiver remove him from his Lover.

The large agèd lion reserves his last breath

To respire the truth to kin that comes hither.

Do not beg evil spirits to blow out their cigars

Call to the Prince:

"Franz Leopold Barbanov-Bihar"

Afterword

There is only one copy of this poem in circulation (IRPLY) and it is the original, signed by Felyx Colborn himself. What has been writ cannot be

undone, and more royal poems are sure to come...
