HOUSE ROSIUS

 

 

“Pro populo, pro regno, pro Deus”

 

The House of Rosius d’Baelius, founded and created by Louis Joseph Rosius d’Baelius upon the diaspora that had occurred after the Brother’s War from the House of Rosius. While the mother of Louis had a bitter quarrel with her half-sister; Gisele Chloe de Rosius, Louis sought to pave a way to peace by giving all the branches of the House complete independence. As far as Louis knew, the quarrel had ended; though there is one part that remains as a personal matter which had not been resolved just yet.

     

With the decree ‘On the matter of Rosius’, the Houses were able to create their own branches within whatever realm they pleased. With the decree that was enacted by Louis and with the High Pontiff Pontian IV as witness; the Houses had officially split into three, later two due to the sudden death of Yves Michael Rosius d'Levesque. So only House Rosius d'Baelius, House Rosius-Valens and House of Endor were left upon the world.

     

Louis, chose to swear allegiance to Prince Charles of Alstion, the one man who he saw as the true successor of the lands once ruled by the Novellen dynasty. With such; Louis was tasked with establishing a fort within the Arentanian alps to  focus on military expansion and thus security of the realm; doing so alongside von Alstreims from Merryweather. Louis was and still is fully dedicated to the cause of re-establishing a Kingdom; for the Heartlands had to be ruled by someone who is to be crowned by the Grace of God. Unlike Louis his predecessors who only focussed on the legislative and political side; Louis sought to focus on military, much like his grandfather Holy Sir Philip Hughes de Rosius. Louis too is a devoted and zealous Canonist and is a devout supporter of a Canonist league without any diplomacy with heathens whatsoever.

 

Upon disappearance of the Head of Rosius-Valens, Louis was installed as patriarch of House Rosius.

 

 

FAMILY TRADITIONS

Much like their forebears; the House of Rosius d’Baelius contains traditions much like their parent-house; Auvergnian elements are also within these traditions. These traditions continue within the newly reformed House of Rosius.

 

LE COURONNEMENT DE L'HÉRITIER

 

As the heir to the House of Rosius d’Baelius and Rosenfort; it is usual for the heir to marry into a House related to that of his or hers either through culture or family. This tradition had been made by Louis Joseph to keep the future titles within the family and so no one can lay a claim upon the titles from outside their family. This regulation had been enacted to refrain other Auvergnian noble houses from laying claim upon their future titles.

 

Upon marriage of the heir ; there is a week of festivities to celebrate; this goes with a “coronation” with a crown made out of roses and will be symbolically crowned as the ‘Successeur de Valent’ named after the founding father of House de Rosius.

 

LE MEMORIAL DE PASSES

 

With the many losses suffered within the House of Rosius; a tradition has been made to commemorate the deaths of the members of the House. The House of Rosius d'Baelius will once a year be in a period of mourning for two months; specifically two because of the deaths of Valent and Otis, the founding fathers of the House. The House will be wearing black attires and spend time within the Church and pass through the old lands of Redenford; lands once held by the House of Rosius.

 

LA CHASSE AUX ANNIVERSAIRES

 

When one of the Household’s children comes of age; he or she will be sent out for a hunt within the forests of the Heartlands; the person who is to hunt will be given a specific type of animal to return with. Upon succeeding; the animal will be part of the dining for the coming of age festivity within the House of Rosius d’Baelius.

 

TRADITION FUNERAIRE 

 

When the Head of the House Rosius d’Baelius passes away; it is tradition to gather roses according to the number of his age. When the roses are gathered; they will be burned alongside the personal belongings of the Head of the House. The body of the passed one will be brought to the family crypt to be laid to rest alongside the other family members who had passed.
 

SERVICE D'ÉPÉE

 

All members of the Household are required to serve as an active levyman; readily and available to serve the realm and protect everyone who lives within the lands that they are sworn to protect. Upon the age of sixteen every person living within the lands of Mont Louis and Rosenfort must be recruited into the levy so they are trained in future wars or other sort of conflict. It is important for everyone within the House to be trained to be able to defend themselves.
