-Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I’m an Arts student in my second year of university. I enjoy writing, reading and debating. Minecraft is my favourite game, and I play it frequently.

-How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Approximately 15 hours.

-How long have you played minecraft?: About 10 months, I started playing a few days before Beta was released.

-What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: Roleplaying is taking on a character and becoming that character, and understanding that character to the extent that their motivations, aspirations and actions all align. Roleplaying usually involves overcoming challenges that the character faces in a realistic manner. I have been roleplaying for several years in real life and a few months in Minecraft.

-What do you expect this server will be like?: It will be a different experience, that’s for sure. It seems very in-depth and immersive. I suspect that I will enjoy it.

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Quite a few, including 7craft, Xcraft, Blanketcraft and Blockheads. The first three collapsed after a few months of operation. The last one was a roleplay server that was unable to keep attracting new players.

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: I will follow the rules to the best of my ability. The lore is fascinating, and I definitely want to see it in action.

-Name the 4 races on this server. The Orcs, Elves, Dwarves and Humans.

-How did you hear about us?: Through a friend on another server.

-Did you vote?: I did indeed.

-What was your favourite Law?: Keeping in character – surprisingly, most roleplay servers have no such rule.

-What was your least favourite Law?: No inappropriate usernames – I agree with this rule, but there could perhaps be conflict over what is or is not deemed inappropriate.

-Character Name: Josef Timothee

-Biography: Josef Timothee comes from a comfortable life. His father, a haberdasher, encouraged him to learn about what interested him. His mother, a small farmer, taught him to slow down and enjoy life. This lead to him being a loner interested in reading and learning. His three beautiful, outgoing older sisters clashed frequently with him as they encouraged him to come out his shell. As a young man Josef lacked close friendships, preferring to continue his acquisition of knowledge. He felt like he did not really fit in anywhere, which made him slightly self-centered.

Although Josef is interested in studying many topics he has become more interested in history than anything else. It is his belief that the world can be understood if one knows the how and why of events, which all can be discovered from the past. Unlike other historians, Josef does not focus his research on only those who have made the greatest impact on past events, such as kings. He also likes to learn how ordinary people live and what their contribution is to history. During his studies Josef slowly gained a deep respect for the Elves, based on their seemingly isolated and peaceful lives. He dislikes the Orcs, thinking them uncivilized and barbaric with little contribution to the world. He also studies politics and geography, both of which he tries to tie into history.

Josef has spent many years trying to understand the world, and does not have many practical skills to get him through it. Due to his essentially shy nature he is awkward in social situations and tends to make a bit of a fool of himself. He also has a slight lisp that is most noticeable when he is nervous talking to people. Despite his father becoming fairly successful at his business, Josef never studied economics, and is therefore terrible with money. He tries not to haggle or take up too much time of merchants. The only time he is comfortable talking to strangers is when it is to ask about their past and try to see how their personal history impacts events. Also, a few people have said that he is a good juggler.

Josef likes steak and bread and has an allergy to mushrooms.

-Character Age: Early twenties

-Character Appearance: A young man with blue eyes, light hair and simple clothing. He has darker skin and stretches to a good height. He avoids making eye contact upon contact with another, unless the conversation changes to a topic that he likes.

-Character Personality: Josef is a quiet young man who does not deal well in social situations, unless it is to talk about subjects that interest him. He can be relentless in his quest for knowledge. Occasionally, a sense of elitism can be seen when he considers himself above others for understanding events historically.

-Your ambitions: Josef wants to find his place in the world, which he believes can be achieved by becoming a great historian. To do so, he travels the lands, discussing his passion with people in order to understand what they think.

-Can your character read or write?: Yes, both, very well.

-Can your character mine?: Not very well. He has a better time at it with softer minerals.

-Are you a capable builder? Not at all, architecture is not one of Josef’s interests.

-Can you wield a sword?: Not very well. Josef tends to lose in combat.

-Enjoy Farming?: Yes, he is an adequate farmer and enjoys the solitary aspect of it.

-Does your character have any special skills?:] Josef has knowledge that he can apply to many situations. He is also rumoured to be a surprisingly good juggler.
