By the grace of the Hyspian Crown and in the spirit of our forebears who carved their place from the wild, Hyspia stands today as a testament to unwavering resolve and noble ambition. From the days when King Cesar de Rivera led our people to claim the first settlement of Tierra Natal, to the enduring reigns that followed, Hyspia’s people have proven their worth in both might and wisdom. As our people continue to rise in strength, so too does it flourish in times of peace, where the crafts and labors of its people have become the lifeblood of our prosperity.

 

In this same noble spirit, Hyspia honors its merchants, whose dedication has brought forth the luxuries and wealth we now enjoy. To commemorate their vital role and to ensure their continued success, we hereby establish La Ruta, Hyspia’s Guild of Merchants.

The Grand Registry

 

All who wish to trade within the lands of Hyspia must be registered in the official Merchant Registry, where their businesses and contributions will be recorded. This registry shall ensure order within our markets and grant members access to the privileges of La Ruta, under the protection of the Crown.

 

Neutral participation in the guild’s affairs require no additional responsibilities or commitment. However, rare privileges and grants, including royal patronage, will be awarded to those who uphold La Ruta most. 

 

Tiers and Patronage

 

Hyspia’s renowned patronage system, whereby a merchant is relieved from taxation, now finds greater refinement and structure. In this expanded form, La Ruta operates on a tiered system that recognizes and rewards those who serve Hyspia with excellence. The tiers are as follows:

 

Novice Traders:

• Newly registered members of the guild, recognized as holding a presence in Hyspian trade but yet to prove their skill or dedication. They form the foundation of the guild and are encouraged to grow within the ranks.

Freemen of the Market:

• The first true rank within the guild, given to those who have demonstrated commitment to their trade and loyalty to the Crown. Freemen are the backbone of Hyspian commerce, forming the general rank and file of the guild.

Patroned Traders:

• Merchants who have excelled in their craft and proven their worth. These traders are granted access to more lucrative market locations, a taxation-free stall, and the esteemed patronage of the Crown, allowing them to flourish further in their ventures.

Guildmasters of Commerce:

• The highest echelon of the guild, these distinguished merchants have built vast enterprises that bring significant wealth to the nation. Guildmasters enjoy royal patronage, exclusive privileges, and the invitation to take part in the guild’s governance.
   

Meetings and Events

The Guild shall hold regular meetings and events for its members, ensuring cohesion is regulated amongst its ranks. Regular auctions and premier privileges will be awarded to those in attendance.

 

La Ruta’s Governance

La Ruta shall be governed by a Merchant Council, under the direct supervision of the Tesorero of the Crown, Andres del Maravilla. This council will be responsible for resolving disputes, organizing trade ventures, and setting policies for the guild. Council members will be selected from among the Master Merchants and those appointed by royal decree.
