Koodini 854 Share Posted October 29, 2024 A FICTITIOUS NARRATIVE OF MURDER & MYSTERY. From the Deputy Grand Lady of the Royal Court. c. 9TH OF JOMA AND UMUND, 553 E.S. ㅤIt was a daring night about Kastell Lesanov, stones long stained red illuminated by only candlelight and the skies’ shuddering. But rainshed’s pattering could only hush so much, and what it failed to silence was the festivities inside. Bound to the Kastell’s recesses was a most frivolous revelry; high-born, their attendants, and servantry bound to the crown alike enjoying the night. And too taken by their alcohol were they to recognize that their gathering had dwindled by just one…What was once mindless chatter and the clinking of mugs which filled the air had been replaced by a blood-curdling scream — a final gift from the fallen. As lords and ladies rushed through the halls, they came to notice the bricks were not all that had been reddened. The carpets seemed stained, the floors they rested upon just as tarnished. Had it been a mess of wine or worse? Before they could mull over such a possibility, their gazes came to the answer. One of their own beginning to turn cold upon the floor. And as thunder filtered out the gasps of queasy women, the pool beneath the slain began to travel, the floor’s tilt bringing what she’d lost towards the doorway once more. It was a beckoning, one which brought their attention to an inscrutable gaze, that of a stranger’s in this strange world. “A disruption,” came her coldness, one heralded by the muzzling of the raging storm outside. It was she who’d seen it all, she who carried the souls of all before and all to-be within her chest; Maan, the Goddess of Death, had come to claim what was rightfully hers. Alas, a soul not ready to leave was a hassle she couldn’t bear. “The stream has yet to take them. Betrayal binds the fallen,” the chittering continued, though the higher hadn’t even split her lips. Lit by the moon and carried by a ghastly mist did the Goddess continue on, coming to paint the grim scene with her hauntings, a most-fitting backsplash. “And now the current requires another.”“Who amongst you will atone for this?” A question none knew the answer too besides he who had done the deed. A question those in the crowd seemed paralyzed by, able to murmur no more than horror-struck whispers. A question whose answer would cause another to fall tonight. ╠════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╣ ㅤAll of Hanseti-Ruska is invited to join the Hope Court’s festivities for Hallow’s Eve by partaking in a round-based mystery upon the coming of Wzuvar & Byvca.
