Issued on the 24th of Sofia's Beauty of the year of 124 D.R.

 

INTRODUCTION

 

With the growing population of the Sovereign State of Hyspia, the role of Alcalde was instated last Saints month and proved to be a welcomed addition to our city. It is with this in mind that the Crown is pleased to announce the opening of the second Alcalde elections, for citizenry in good standing to campaign for.

ON CAMPAIGNING 

To campaign, the individual must have lived within the Sovereign State of Hyspia for a period of eight (8) Saints weeks and own property within our nation.

This will be checked via the most recent census of Hyspian citizenry, alongside their standing within our lands.

 

Those of the royal family or the Sovereigns council may not run, due to their already prominent position within our nation.

 

When campaigning, posters may be made, and speeches and events scheduled to put your best foot forward. Upon the publication of this missive, an individual must announce their intention to campaign within two (2) Saints days.

 

The election process lasts for one (1) Saints week.

 

ON PRIVILEGES AND DUTIES 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the privilege of requesting a meeting with the Sovereign.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to take petitions from the citizenry to present before the Crown.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to keep the notice board updated with current events within the Sovereign State of Hyspia.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to oversee the Hyspian tavern.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to oversee the cleanliness of the city.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to oversee the creation of jobs within the city.

If you are a Hyspian citizen of good standing and the age of majority, you may announce your intentions to run for Alcalde!

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WOULD DO AS ALCADE?:

We, the current Aclalde and Vice Alcalde of La Dorada, have been immensely honored to watch over our beautiful city for 4 years. In that time we have successfully lived up to our original campaign promises, and have overseen a prosperous time for our Capital - with new faces popping up every day.

As promised, we have installed a new way to petition and gain justice through our Alcalde General Assemblies, an event that has and will continue to provide our citizens with the chance to be heard and acknowledged. Through these Assemblies, we have seen reform and progress, resolving various issues that our people once had to suffer through silently.
We have also overseen, as was promised by our initial campaign, the formation of a new Law Code - which will be promptly finished if we are re-elected - to replace the vague and outdated "Lex Hyspia" that our nation has lived under for many decades now. Headed by myself, Alcalde Dante Fontesar, we have made great strides in ensuring our Law will be just, fair, and most vitally clear. Gone are the days of uncertainty and subjective justice.

In our second term, we will continue to serve the people of La Dorada, watching over our events, resolving disputes, and bringing in visitors and new citizens to fill our markets and our streets. We believe, as Vice-Alcalde Diego has often said, that the heart of Hyspia is its culture, and we intend to protect that with the same fervor and care that it deserves.

Additionally, we intend to fully re-open La Escuela de Veronica within our Second Term. It was a promise made during our first campaign and one we wish to see through now. As a new generation of children is born in our city, we feel it is imperative that they are provided with proper education and instruction to grow into productive, intelligent members of society.
