The Orcs | Urukim

The Orcs (also called Urukim in-game as of the Aevos map), the progeny of the Descendent Krug, are a race on Lord of the Craft since the server’s founding defined by their ruggedness & idiosyncrasies. Whether it is the Uruk strength, size, & affinity to differentiate between clans & tribes; the Ologgish extremes of height & wanton brutishness; or the Goblin whose savant intellect places them in interesting positions in Orcish society as tinker or scholar; the Orcs are well-positioned to cater to players’ different aspirations. If one wishes to express a more creative side leveraging Minecraft’s ingenious design around redstone or the server’s well-structured system of alchemy - a Goblin might be right for you! If one wishes to explore conflict roleplay, the ***-for-tat of competing clans & tribes & personalities - an Uruk might be right for you! If one wishes to explore thematic & cultural elements of non-European real world civilizations - the Orcs are the best place to engage in those themes & elements.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Throughout the centuries since Krug & the first Orcish generations, the race has evolved with three primary subraces branching off.

 

The Uruks   The Uruk makes up the bulk of Orcish populations with a wider variety of personalities & temperaments found among them. One can expect to find Uruks with the skin tone varying from muddy brown to sunburnt orange with various shades of green & greys between. In terms of strength, the Uruk is stronger than a human with good physique, but weaker than an Olog. The Uruks typically have horns by the time 300 years of age.   The Hobgoblin or “Troll-ork”   Hobgoblins (or Trollorcs) are more of a recent cultural phenomenon due to the recent settlement of the southern jungles of Aevos. Hobgoblins are leaner than Uruks, exchanging some of the brute strength for more nimble capability. There is one clan presently called the Taunttongues.

The Goblin   Witty, savant-like, & easily prone to be the polymath learned in many sciences & arts; the Goblin are the shorter cousins of the Uruk & dwarfed easily by the Olog. Goblins are respected for their ability to learn quickly & apply their learning in all manners of alchemical, engineering, & other practices. Their idiosyncrasies, excused for the immense benefit they provide to Orcish society, may rub foreigners the wrong way.

The Olog   The Olog is much larger than even their Uruk relatives, but whose incredible size & strength is offset by being unsuited for quicker tasks both physically & intellectually. However, it is not uncommon to find Orcish society prize the Ologs & in return train Ologs intensely to be vessels of Orcish society, language, & primal wisdoms. Ologs are a CA (Creature Application) race, meaning that a Creature Application must be filled out on the forums and accepted before roleplaying.

 

 

 

 

The Orcish tongue is a full-fledged language that has spawned with it an assortment of accents. With the reign of Skalvor Rex, the Blah is now a codified language with the extinguishment of most accents save for a few. OOC Note: You do not have to use Orcish language in RP as an Orc. Typing regular English is perfectly acceptable. You can use Ctrl + F to navigate and see what words are found in the Orcish language that some players opt into using.
