A festival that is long over-do … The beloved EMA wall is full of wishes once more, and the new fortune tree has done it’s job well of taking the unfortunate fates of our people and harboring the negative energy away within it’s bark. As a way to celebrate the good fortunes, luck, and blessing the EMA wall and omikuji bestow to us, as well as to combat the negative energy the Lich’s Student has brought to our lands, the Capital Sakurgakure will be hosting the second FUKU FESTIVAL specifically organized by the Sakugrakure Shidai Monastery.

In our village, the term ‘SHUKUFUKU’ formally translates into blessing, the abbreviation being ‘FUKU’, hence the festival being called the FUKU FESTIVAL! Fuku for us also means ‘clothes’, so we brought our Kimono competition from the Flower Festival to here! The Omikuji fortunes directly predict the type of blessings and fortune one will receive, and seeing as the bad fortunes and blessings were released via the removing the sacred tree, it seems only right to have the name reflect the reason of the festival!

The Sakuragakure Shidai Monastery has set up the village square to have several attractions for those of Koyo-Kuni as well as foreigners to enjoy. These being:

1. Axolotl Booth: We are bringing back to sale of Axolotls! Though the sea-money adoption drive has been long over, the Monastery has brought back to sale of the Pink Fishies for this very festival!

2. Omikuji Fortunes: The things that sparked the festival, and the things that’ll help bring the good fortune back! At the work-shop front, a spot was set up for a shrine maiden to give out Omikuji fortunes!

3. Post-Cards: Another way to support Koyo-Kuni and the Monastery is by buying some of our post-cards! A stand is to buy such is located beside the Axolotl booth!

4. Sumo: We of course have kept our signature sumo mat and will have a sumo tournament towards the end of the festival hosted by one of our samurai! Winner of the competition will receive a pink axolotl!

5. Kimono Sō: Ladies of Sakuragakure, and abroad, are invited to showcase their finest floral Kimonos; it is recommended that they reflect the colors that are associated with luck, blessings, and fortune! A panel of judges shall award the finest Kimono with a pink axolotl!

6. EMA Wall: For those who ask a present Shrine Maiden, you will be able to buy a paper card for one mon, and place a wish upon the new EMA wall!

7. Kaihō Negai no seishin: The EMA wall ritual that’ll end the festival! The Sakuragakure Shidai Monastery will preform the burning of the old EMA wishes to release the WISH spirit! Then a Kami will come down and grant the wishes from the wall that it deems worthy!

It shall be our greatest hope that no wicked creature accosts this Springtime festival in some damnable display. As is the season, any who would attempt to trample upon life shall feel the wrath of the thawing Sun.

It is also noted that visitors are expected to follow the laws of Koyo-Kuni, lest they face the wrath of the Samurai.
