Elynora’s Final Rest

Since the Fall of the Republic of Salvo at the hands of the brutal Bandit President Mitch McCanon the Salvian people had looked towards their once President Elynora Maude af Brasca for guidance though some doubted her leadership, and ideals of a new future, many stood beside her and marched towards the west eager to find a new homeland unified by a single ideal to rebuild what they had lost. On the furthest shores of Aevos, the Salvians built the Fort of Verdant which would eventually be declared the capital of the First Republic of Antium. Though the ideals of the Republic were held dear they did not last long as war broke out across the continent and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan marched with the very people who stood aside as the Republic of Salvo fell, the same people who watched the vicious bandits of McCanon cut down Salvians, and the very same who called the departing Salvians cowards for leaving their homelands behind. At that moment, President af Brasca turned her people towards the Principality of Celia’nor to defend against the Unholy League alongside those of the Horenic Covenant whom the Papal States had also wronged.

 

However, upon their arrival in Celia’nor, something had happened on the long road East, an ailment had come across Elynora one that had her coughing blood, and bedridden for weeks at a time, knowing that her time was near Elynora called close to her friends, to say final words to them. Ultio Octavianus of Antium, and Estevot Heymor of Balian. As they stood around her bed they’d talk lightly and softly about the Salvian Coup, and the Grand Schismatic War, as several items are passed from Elynora to those present she states her last words. “Antium shall persevere in the Steel of Battle, and her people shall be free!”
 

In the Principality of Celia’nor, surrounded by friends and fellow citizens of the First Republic of Antium, the nation she cherished above all. Her dream of a peaceful future for her people remained elusive, harried by foes and betrayed by fate, yet she had fought for it until her final breath. Elynora Maude af Brasca is dead.

Wow.. Elynora when given to me by @Lyonharted 8 months ago was just a throwaway character for the rp after the fall of the Heartlander Confederation, but over time she became so much more.. It was such a pleasure to rp on her for the last four months actively, and I am so happy for the friendships I made during her arc. @Crshirk@GaggedBrainyou two are like my closest friends on LOTC now after this character, and I can't wait to see what you do with our community in the future.

Estevot sat by the bed of the woman who once saved his life. He had lived nearly double her age. Now she was gone, and he could not repay her for the debt that he owed her. So he sat there and cried, holding her hand as he just stood vigil until the sun rose before heading home to mourn and prepare.

 

Prepare to honour her last wishes…and see the Holy League fall.
