O’ GUD, VOR HJELP I GYNE ERE,

Since I was but a girl, I have served this house with honor and unwavering dedication. As from the days of my youth, I could only ever dream of achieving feats worthy of my forebears. And so through the years, I have borne witness to countless battles across the realm, and in each, I fought with every ounce of fervor granted to me by God. I stood beside those I call beloved kin, brothers and sisters in arms, whom I shall never forget. For them, I offer prayers each night, and shall continue to do so until my final breath.

It is, in a way, a farewell. Here, I bring to a close a chapter that spans decades of service to my beloved march, my people, whom I have striven to honor since the fall of the Kingdom of Haenseti-Ruska. I endured, as we all did, through the endless battle against the accursed kin of the shadows. But I am no longer the brazen Dame of the old Kingdom. I am worn. And because of this, I can no longer fulfill the duty I once carried with pride. So I shall step down from my place as Kapten.

In my place I call my dear brother, the honorable Caspian Beowulf III. For he has fought by my side as Kossar. And now, he shall continue my efforts anew, in his rightful place as Kapten. 

To those who saw worth in me, Acelia and Caliope, may you both continue to lead our people with unyielding love and strength. To my mentor, and to he who I shall always see as my Knight, Joakim. May your path never stray from the light. To the new faces of the coming generation, Severin and Varrick. Listen well to your elders and lead as they once did: with honor, and with grace. And to my father, Davyd. Know that I will always love you.

 

Until next we meet. And remember, pain is temporary, and remembrance eternal.

Caspian read the missive, his eyes scanning the parchment seemingly trying to comprehend what had happened.

"And just like that.." he murmured before walking out into the courtyard of Herzskar his feet crunching the soft gravel beneath him, before he stopped outside the barracks door...

With a resounding boom the Barracks door slammed open leveraged by Caspian's boot his eyes scanning the mess before him, men of the Guard drunk and asleep.

His voice echoed in the halls "IN LINE OUTSIDE THIRTY SECONDS!" this was no ask it was a direct order, Caspian Beowulf Colborn III was taking no time to Mourn his friends absence, he would succeed for the Dame in her name for her honor.

as the men fell into line they were addressed by the new Kapten "You thought now the Dame is gone that the standard would fall... that would be incorrect, you men will become the backbone of this House Guard, and if you do not make the cut you will be cut, am I clear?"

for a moment silence until the resounding boom of response.

"SIR YES SIR!"
