I deny Fate no longer.

A lonesome night, and Elijah stood, staring forth unto a mirror, though he was sightless. A move of his own doing, of course.

He saw, and he saw by the will of the darkness, by the will of MORDRING, and he would have it no longer, even after the Fire left him blind. But who was he to decide against such?

He thought back to months prior, where he sat in lesson with the An-Gho, and they contemplated the concept of thought. Elijah saw more than most did, of course, but the prophet disagreed. Evermore, the devil failed to understand this, until a night came forth where he indulged in a session of psychedelic reflection upon his own mind. When he woke the next morning, he saw not, his eyes removed. He'd see, but he didn't need his sight to do so.

The devil huffed, and left his room once more, navigating himself unto the Ash-Hall, using his katana as a guide. There was where he'd kneel, and place his ever-burning candle next to him, a hand raised over it to ensure it was still burning. He began to pick through the ashes, determined of a path which he'd never see the conclusion to.

"A single ash," - Those golden words of the An-Gho echoed through his head, "The first to do so will be given a reward."

A prayer to Azdromoth, to guide him, to bring him to the single ash, even if an impossible task. He'd do it today, and the next day, and the next, until the very day he died, or until he found it. Even now, without sight, he could tell an imperfect ash from a perfect one. They were all imperfect, and yet, and it'd take a thousand lifetimes to find the perfect one.

Yet, as he was taught, he searched anyway.

When he rested, Azdromoth gave unto him a prophecy, as he so often received.

"View, child of the Ruiner. Walk the Golden Path. Corruption did not define I, so let it not define you. Only the man who accepts he is blind will see, and in this, Child, you see."

"I am ruined no more."
