Helmet 1454 Share Posted August 14, 2025 (edited) Spoiler Overview - An incredibly simple potion recipe has traveled far through the currents of word of mouth & written documents. It's origins aren't too clear, as multiple Alchemists claimed to have invented this 'potion' first through a stroke of luck/genius all roughly around the same time. Strangely, these supposed inventors reside in locations & continents too distant from one another to suggest that they were working together or stealing from one another. [T1] Alchemix Hardener [Common, Playersigned] Recipe - Base : Ice/powderized crystals, tree sap, or powderized limestone 1 x Mundane Freezing Effects - When added to a finished alchemical Potion or Reagent that is liquid or gaseous it will turn it into a crystaline, rubber-like or chalky substance depending on the base used in the recipe. Hardened Potions/Reagents retain their properties & appearance, but are no longer dependent on a container to maintain a shape. This effect lasts indefinitely until the Hardened Potion/Reagent is broken or used, the entire substance immediately turning back into its original state akin to a water balloon bursting. Talented artisans may even use molds or carving tools to get specific shapes, polish, smoothen or etch into/write upon them without breaking them. Redlines - ◈ Alchemix Hardener cannot be used during combat, & only works on Potions/Reagents that are liquids/gases. ◈ If used IMMEDIATELY on naturally liquid/gaseous Potions/Reagents, it doesn’t count towards the number of potions Alchemists can make each day. - Alchemix Hardener WILL count if made and stored after creation. ◈ Hardened Potions/Reagents are identical in function to their normal counterparts, with NO mechanical advantages or disadvantages. - Does not hide or obscure what it is applied to, & must be used on at least 1 count of Potion/Reagent. - If it has a shelf-life, Alchemix Hardener does nothing to preserve it (ex, Hunters Venom, Genus-rich Blood, etc). - The durability of Hardened Reagents/Potions NEVER exceeds anything above glass, and if broken the entire substance will return to its original state. There are no pieces of 'shrapnel' left behind. Reasoning - Spoiler Potions like Will O’s or Flaming Salves reskinned as crystals would go pretty hard. Making it cheap both in terms of recipe components & the fact that it doesn’t impact the number of potions a person can make each day if used immediately lets it be used relatively freely. You don't want to punish people for trying to make shit look cool. Hardened reagents like Ectoplasm, Blood, Liquid Lifeforce, Biles, and more would also look good.
