Etienne Halcourt for Mayor!

The Campaign for Mayorship of Elizabeth for Etienne Halcourt

 

 

To all great Citizen of the City of Elizabeth !
Tis with great joy that I apply as candidate to be your Mayor! I very dearly love our great city and our community,

as a journalist I get to engage with all of you. thanks to my Local newspaper, the Citizen Compass I get to listen to all

of your stories, interviewing many of you already and sharing all these local stories with you, it is a job I love to do and will continue to do

but I hope that I can do much more as a mayor, continuing to bring together our great community !
 

 

1. Negotiating a Charter for our great City :

Something that our City is missing is a Charter! one that defines the working of it

as well as the rights and duties of the city and of course the rights of its Citizens. 

I am a strong believe that a City is like a special vassal, a community which should 

be defined by law. This would strengthen our sense of belonging & community even more

and set in our inner workings to efficiently run our great city. 

 

2. Holding Town Hall meetings. 
As a Journalist, I of course know of the importance of listening, and as someone conducting 

regular interviews I also know the value of asking the right questions. As your Mayor

I would be your representative, and as such I would need your opinions to do so adequalty

Lastly, while a single person can have good ideas, the greatest ideas are those shared together! 

thus, holding town Hall meetings are a valuable tool to keeping our city great 

 

3. Strengthening our sense of Community and Pride of our City

One of the reasons I created the Citizen Compass is exactly for that very same reason,

I want my readers to be proud of their city, their region and read about local stories of

local peoples! I wish to continue this as mayor as Community is important to me, when

peoples come into our city and see how proud we are of it, how strong we are together they will

surily want to be part of it 

4 Organise Sport events with other Cities
what better way to bring together a Community through sport competitions?
I certainly love that idea, creating a Sportsteam for our city, encourage other cities to do the same

and have special games every few years !

 

So this is my bit to be mayor, that and of course so much more! Just because I do not talk of buildings projects or local

economy does not mean that I do not care for them, I just think its more important, mostly looking forward to establish good

administrative structures as well as strenghening the community even more ! make peoples say , I am proud to be Alban, I am proud to be a Citizen in this City.
