Finding the Sea

Nailed atop a door where Acalmaehr’s home once was: now battered doors lay upon the ground and paperwork thrown everywhere, was a letter.

For too long during my two decades as Sohaer, I did not visit outwards often, neither did it seems did I look too deep within, I spent my time meandering and dealing with the miniscule debates, the things that could be better left to others: a failure of naivety I presume. And in this I forgot where it was the river was going to.

So, to whomever reads this, I shall be finding the sea. It is the dream, I think, of all descendants: To know where those rocky peaks of our beginnings actually lead to: the long coursing river of our lives that whip and crack at us in surging rapids and frigid colds, to know what exactly it may mean for us.

I feel that the river of our lives is a seductive one. It’ll take you along so quickly that you won’t have a chance to see the banks on the sides, it’ll blast cold water upon your face if you look forwards, and the back is so dizzying and foreign you know not where you had even started. Do not give into the course of the river, do not accept it.

A Miravaris I had grown to both love and hate said ‘Asul lente karin’ento’ and that is something I wish you all to grip to your minds, grip it so tightly it pulls taught your heart and blisters your skin, know that this is not the end of our people: just simply do not give into passivity either. Grip the sails and choose your own course, one with a brighter future, a potential true Motherland is never far for an elf.

I am no longer your Sohaer, but I wish not to be forgotten, if you could please give me that courtesy that would be kind. I fear that with the accusations held against myself, there is not much chance of me showing my face near any of you all, so perhaps my life shall not contact you it has the way it had over the last two decades, I wish to see you continue and thrive, and I wish not burden you any longer with my dragging metaphors and mind-numbing anecdotes: thrive, for not just myself, but for yourselves.

I will perhaps be somewhere, there in the shadows of the world, watching the prosperous people: for I simply pushed policies, you all created something that was more than what I had thought I could do. So now it is time to see what it is I shall do next, starting with a long look at the sea.

Signed Faithfully,

.
