CHRONICLE OF THE FIRST TWO DAYS

Issued By: The County of Silasia

12TH OF HARREN'S FOLLY, 629 A.A.

With great anticipation and the roar of excitement from the gathered folk, the Grand Unity Games have commenced. A season of camaraderie and skill has been ushered forth under the banners of the Empire of Man.

Below is the official chronicle of the first two days of the Games, recounting the triumphs, upsets, and rising stars shaping the standings of the championship.

DAY I - OPENING JOUST

The Grand Unity Games began with great fanfare on the shores of the COUNTY OF SILASIA. Observers took to the stands, filling the air with cheers and anticipation to come.

Seven riders with horses draped in their noble standards readied themselves at the tilts, each eager to prove their prowess. The competitors were: Melissandre Kildrakken, Janos, Aurelian Greye, Henry Thomas Spencer, Baron Larkin Mack Winburgh, Lord Charlie Baruch, Duke Duncan Baruch.

In the first pass, Winburgh quickly took the first win with a flurry of purple and black against Spencer. Charlie Baruch would then compete against the Greye child-warrior, winning and showing the might of the Baruch bear. Lord Janos would topple the elder Baruch shortly after. Melissandre showed off the Kildrakken’s fortitude by defeating Larkin and after Charlie would go onto avenge his Duke by dismounting Janos.

As the final pass arrived, the air filled with trepidation. for the final competitors as both Melissandre and Charlie had taken their places, showing themselves to be expert riders. In the clash of metal and splintering wood, Lord Charlie would prevail narrowly through the finesse of his lance, and secure the first victory of the Grand Unity Games; earning him a prize of 100 mina and points toward the Championship cup.

DAY II - THE GAME OF NIKULTAG

Honoring the traditional game of Nikultag (spleef), the competitors took to the hills of the PRINCIPALITY OF BLACKVALE for the second day of the championship. Onlookers lined the sides of the arena tower to see the brutal contest of footing, instinct, and strength. Competitors for this day were: Diederick van Aert, Sir Carolus van Aert, Melissandre Kildrakken, Cora Vallin, Baron Larkin Mack Winburgh, Lord Charlie Baruch, Sir Lothar d’Amaury, and Lord Kajus Whitewood.

Diederick van Aert went against Cora Vallin, and showed a strong opening victory for the Principality of Blackvale. Lord Charlie and Baron Larkin faced off to test their skills with Charlie besting Larkin and showing that his joust victory was not a fluke. Melissandre faced the fearsome Sir Carolus who won by knocking Melissandre off the side of the arena.

Next was Kajus Whitewood against Sir Lothar d'Amaury. While Kajus managed to quickly drop Sir Lothar to the second floor, his overconfidence became his undoing as he tumbled to the ground in an overconfident chase, thus securing the win for Sir Lothar.

Next it was the young van Aert versus the jousting champion Charlie. Diederick proved himself more nimble than the Baruch and had won over him.

Then a bout between two knights, Sir Carolus vs. Sir Lothar, showed that while Sir Carolus may not like the cold, he can still fight in any condition, beating Sir Lothar with his shovel and securing the victory.

For the fight to win this day, both van Aerts took against each other, Sir Carolus vs. Diederick van Aert. Sir Carolus graciously did not pummel the squire. In a battle of speed hard fought, the elder van Aert took the win!

By popular vote, a free for all was had to pick the champion of 3rd place. Melissandre, Larkin, Charlie, and Sir Lothar entered the ring once more. In the end, Sir Lothar won the free for all for third place.
