In magnitude of solemnity is this missive delivered to peers of the realm, wrought of tidings both of joy and mourn from the Imperial Household. Her Imperial Highness, Livia Caesonia took to an abrupt delivery all naught but two hours proceeding the crowning of Marcus I and Valentiná of Asturias. Her Imperial Highness has safely delivered twins in the early hours of dawn, tended to by Her Imperial Excellency, Andromède dey Medford, who operated indefatigably. By the grace of Providence, a daughter survives– her bemoans steeled and her constitution promising. 

 

Yet this rapture of one is tempered by loss. The male child, though meticulously brought forth into Azuras, did not prevail his first breaths. We ask that the esteemed Lords and Ladies of the realm bow their heads in prayer as we proceed the rites befitting of his station. He has been commended to rest with the name Martinus Amadeus. May GOD cradle his hand as he takes to the Seven Skies. 

 

In the wake of her travail, Her Imperial Highness has taken to terrible ailment. The exertions of childbirth have left her debilitated, and she remains confined to her chambers amid constant care. Her Imperial Excellency attends to her without respite, though her recovery shall be neither swift nor certain. For now, she is bedridden, her strengths diminished, and her presence missed in the affairs of Rittersburg.

 

The Imperial family requests that all prayers, well-wishes, and devotions be directed towards Her Highness’ restoration, and for the greater health and protection of the young princess who now relishes under vigilant watch.

Where the hailing of new life so often stirred joy within the Physician, the arrival of those babes left Andromède shaken. For the anguished screams of the Princess had left the Maestra plunged into sorrow. There was relief, yes, that against all odds little Sabine drew breath. But the comfort of it did little to dampen the brunt that followed. Andromède's grief remained tempered, and the woman of few words found herself with fewer still, tending dutifully to Livia from dawn until dusk.
