How it all began

By: Tailion

It was a cold night, I was walking down the King’s Road when out of no where a haggard man stumbles from behind a tree. with my previous encounters I assumed him to be a bandit , oh how I was wrong, this chance meeting changed my life forever. I had pulled my sword and readied for a fight, the man I soon noticed was badly injured he had a sword wound to his stomach, I ran to him I asked him how I could help, shakily he pulled a rolled up map from his satchel, he handed it to me and said “Please sir, please take this map have it deciphered and follow it to where it takes you.” shortly after saying this the man passed away. I took the map to everybody I know and none could solve the mystery of the map it was an enigma. I remember a man form many years ago name Cairo, I had traveled with him on adventures and sought him out, I went to his home and found him there, I handed him the map and asked him to attempt to decipher it, he managed to solve all but where to start from, for that a riddle was all he could come up with, it read, “In the land of ice and snow,, lies the place where people are below“, I left Cairo that day.

I later found out that he had died not soon after we had previously met, I thought on the riddle for weeks and then I remembered a trip to Celestine when I passed a graveyard, I went to this place and I checked the map. I was sure I had found the right spot, so I went for it, along the way I fought waves upon waves of enemies the nearer I got to the end the more they came allowing me no sleep. After many days and with my food stocks depleted, I found, a cave, I entered this cave and found it filled with monsters, on the final monster I could see my last swing missed and I struck the hard rock around us, my blade shattered. I had to finish the skeleton with my last arrow.

I entered into a room that was pitch black I could see nothing. I felt the wall and found a switch, I pulled it, the floor collapsed under me and I fell into a room filled with a brilliant light, the room was filled with an odd stone that emitted a light stronger then the light emitted from a mighty hearth. In the far corner of the room was a chest, the contents of this chest shocked even me, it was filled to the brim with golden ingots and other rare materials. I gathered all that I could carry then climbed my way out of the room and found my way out into the wilderness, I began my trip home. Along the way I had to drop some gold to make room for food, that is when I came across a group of cows and although I regret it I killed them with one of the ingots I continued on my way home, the thrill of adventure set into me, thus began my days of adventure.

A few things need fixing.

- Terrible grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.

- The fact that when someone makes a story, they pull a 'chuck norris' story.

( I.E. The main hero, can do anything even if he is a frail elf, isn't even a fighter. )

- The wordplay/writing itself.

Good luck on your second copy if you don't post something in return that revolves around you flaming and/or responding with appropriate speech. You asked for what needed to be fixed, you know.
