Out-Of-Character:

Minecraft Account Name:

Synthum

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?:

No.

How old are you?:

23

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

United States- Eastern Time Zone

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I've been told that I'm an affluent speaker and very well-spoken.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

My name is Kevin, and I've been role-playing for over eight years. I've been in every environment, from Dungeons & Dragons to World of Warcraft, and I'm excited to experience what I think will be a very versatile and very character-centered Minecraft role-playing experience.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

On average, I'd be on the server for 5-12 hours a week.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:

I've grown to understand the ins-and-outs of role-playing over the years, and what was once a spontaneous idea to waste away a Saturday night gradually became a sort of lifestyle. Role-playing is, to me, a selfless devotion to an ever-progressing plot in which everyone plays a part, whether they're the victim, the villain, the hero, or the martyr. The character one plays is simply a means of creating a fantastic storyline that, in hindsight, excites and enthralls all who were a part of it.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

When one becomes biased toward their own character, they take liberties; some of them being metagaming and powergaming. Metagaming is a means to use out-of-character information, unbeknownst to in-character elements, to gain the upper hand in the story line. Likewise, powergaming is initiating an in-character emote/action that is unstoppable, irreversible, or contains god-like influence.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect the server to be somewhat tight-knit, with a very esoteric community. However, I expect to see that changing exponentially, as the amount of applications is growing quickly. Both scenarios I'm used to and enjoy.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I've played on various theme-based servers, but none of them quite offered the atmosphere of role-play as well as the freedoms of Minecraft in a tasteful combination.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Yes.

How did you hear about us?:

Through friends who play on the server, themselves.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?

Not... yet?

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?:

TheIdleHand

In-Character:

Character Name:

Rithein Arearos

What is your Race?:

Human

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

On a farm in the territory adjacent to the capital, Rithein Arearos was born unto the numerous progeny of a careless mother and a tired father. The youngest in a band of eleven, Rithein was left, for the majority of his childhood, to the rabble of his fellow brothers and sisters, and the hopeless dark of an ever-approaching future. Left unnurtured and, as he grew, unsatisfied, Rithein found sanctum in the local wilderness. Late-evening musings with the flora of the area and the mysticism of the local unknown, Rithein was compelled to reach greater heights.

At an early age, Rithein learned of the vicissitudes of fate, and took his humble origins into his own hands. Abandoning his home, his bare life, and his family, Rithein struck out for great heights, his only friend being the green life that flourish along his path. Some sixty-and-three years later, fate had found him with it still, in a personal setting, where careful hours of devotion to its study payed the bills. He has been faithfully in love with the tranquility of nature and its potent mannerisms since, and regards them, almost to a level of zeal, as his savior.

Your characters ambitions:

Rithein is solely devoted to the advancement of the fields of alchemical studies. As a byproduct, he is a humanitarian, and respects the earth, of which has given him a proper life, to a level of reverence. He works to preserve it when he can and must.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

The thought does not initially phase Rithein. Instinct does not take over his actions, but rather very conscious thought. Perhaps, since the victim was an elf, Rithein would take the time to lend a helpful hand, and maybe craft something of his own expertise to aid in the situation. He respected the elves and their reserved and conservative ways, and would do what he could to help a man of such virtues.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

"Hmph. No, no... no," would say Rithein, his thoughts expansive and outreaching his own attention span as he'd examine the man's wares. "Haven't- got- wait, I need pumpkin roots. More than one humble market vendor might have, three armfuls, maybe." With a pause and pensive pursing of his lips, he'd tuck his hands in his pockets. "No, not pumpkin roots. Maybe just, erm... slime. Copious amounts of- you know, my good sir?" would say Rithein, his opportunistic persona and experimental attitude getting the best of him. Tossing handfuls of coin on the vendor's till, he'd say, "Give me everything. Everything you've got. I'll find a use for it all."
