Out-Of-Character:

Minecraft Account Name:

carlmartin10.

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?:

I have not signed up to the LOTC booth or ever been to MineCon, but did watch the opening shows and the highlights on YouTube.

How old are you?:

I’m 17 years old.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

+00:00 (GMT) / England

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Having known myself for 17 years I would make the assertion that this is correct!

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I am currently living in England in the Midlands. I study hard and play hard with ambitions to be happy, with enough money, and a great job! Computers are a fascination of mine and hope to have a job working with them.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

I would usually play 1 and a half hours a day or so, on average, (8 to 12) on Minecraft a week.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:

I have not had much experience of RP servers, although the Yogiverse server claimed to have been one - but it never had much of a community feel. Roleplaying to me is to act on the intentions and thoughts of the character you are playing and to fully immerse yourself into the community helping others and making new friendships.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming is when a character acts on knowledge that he should not be aware of but the player discovered out of game or character, for example when you can see an enemy nametag heading towards you - your character would not know that they are coming towards them - so you must act as if you have not seen it until you can see the physical character in front of you. Whereas Powergaming is levelling up your character without roleplaying or acting like your character simply for the sake of increased power or powers, for example a player kills another player without any intentions by the character thoughts or beliefs.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I have been told by my friend, D3LLI5, that it extremely fun and enjoyable. He told me that the challenges are good fun and that his guild is the best!

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Yogiverse - left due to the fact that it closed down.

SiegeCraft - again it shut down.

My TechnicPack Server - my personal server with the TechnicPack Mods installed for my friends and I to enjoy.. we have completed the TechnicPack challenges, as it were, and are looking for exciting new challenges!

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

I swear it on my Mother’s Cake! (Yes).

How did you hear about us?:

D3LLI5 suggested that I try LOTC as he thoroughly enjoys it as it never gets boring!

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?

Yes.. I believe I was vote 3304!

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?:

Carl.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Asbrind was born in the far north of Aegis. He was brought up in the large stronghold known as Winterfell. His mother, Maratham, worked in the tavern to scrape together the few coins they could survive on and his father, Forsoforth, worked as a low-pay blacksmith. Together they were happy - Forsoforth often told him of stories of his past as a powerful warrior. And so it was that he laid the foundations of Asbrind’s inspiration and aspiration. As the Undead swept through the lands of the North, they desperately fled to the South, to the city of Al Khazar. Unfortunately they nabbed Maratham on their journey south. Even to this day he has not seen her again, leaving Asbrind and his father distraught.

And so it was that they could not rescue Maratham. His father forced him to continue south, despite his love for Maratham, he knew that he would only be endangering the both of them. They made refuge in a Forest where they discovered a gang of bandits. The bandits held Forsoforth to sword-point and demanded money and items of considerable value. But they didn’t even have a stick to barter.. they had nothing. His father laid down his life for Asbrind, and told him to run.. to start a new life in Al Khazar.. find his mother and not to worry for him. He had no choice but to leave his father, he had no weapons, no money, no defence.. it would have been a slaughter.

He trained at Al Khazar every day for many years in the nearby forest. He ensured that he was at peak physical fitness before setting out on his father’s ancient trail. He took an iron sword and wooden shield. On his way he befriended a Wolf, which he called Wolfred. For endless weeks on weeks, months on months, they travelled together. During their travels, they stumbled upon wolf armour at a passing stall. At last they found the bandits that had that threatened his father. He and Wolfred confronted the rogues. He hurdled towards them, sword in one hand with shield in the other. Thrusting his rock encrusted sword through his heart, Wolfred hanging from his leg, he moved to the next. Their ruby-red blood rested upon the sword. But it was to no avail. They were truly outnumbered. They were captured and hung upside down by their legs. He was forced to watch the brutal murder of his fearsome and trusted companion. He was whacked on his head, just as he thought he caught a glimpse of his long-lost father - knocked out.

He woke, broken boned and with a purple patchwork covering the extent of his body. A few monks from the East bored into his eyes, lying in the tinted waters of the lake. He was taken back to the guild, where he received emergency medical attention. He was taken in by the High Monk, who he hunted for in return for the kindness he had shown. To this day he misses his mother, father and his kindest friend Wolfred. He is a tall swordsman from the snow covered north. Kind and generous, though brutal in his punishment of evil, he hopes to join the Knights of the North. Asbrind is a middle-aged fearless swordsman, of tanned skin and black blood through hatred of the undead and bandits. He feels that revenge must be accomplished in order to die a happy man!

Your characters ambitions:

Asbrind is driven bent on finding out what happened to his mother and father and find out whether they are still alive. He also has aspirations on becoming a Knight of the North.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Asbrind has no quarrel with the Elves. However he has had terrible past experiences of bandits. He decides that he must help the defenceless Elf, as he knows the horror of being in that position. He strides from out behind the trail where they were beating the Elf. He slowly drew out his iron sword for dramatic effect, engraved with his motto.. ‘Wolfred the fearless would like to introduce you to death’. The bandits chuck the Elf onto the floor with complete disregard, and smirk with their rotten teeth. They too draw their swords and charge at Asbrind, who remains still and silent. Suddenly he thrust himself into the air and pounced onto one of the bandits. The slow trickle of blood appeared from his mouth as the sword stroked his heart. The other looked at him terrified. Took a step back and ran for his life. Asbrind is not a light-hearted man. He reached for his belt, where a jewel encrusted dagger lay, with a single swift move, the bandit fell to the floor with a thud.

He walked upto the bandits corpse, took a second glimpse and ripped his head off, before throwing the body into the bushes and turning to the Elf, struggling still on the forest trail. He spoke with his deep voice booming into the depths of the forest, ‘are you ok?’ As she replied with a near-silent yes, he turned his back on her and walked on through the forest.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

His deep voice boomed to touch through to the shopkeeper’s spine, which suddenly shivered, ‘I am looking for the Knights of the North. Would you know where I could find them?’ The shopkeeper quivering looked into his bloodshot eyes, ‘What’s it worth?’ ‘My good wishes.. and silvers.’ With a newly found grin, the shopkeeper grew happy, withdrew to his bedroom before returning with a map of old. He pointed to the whereabouts of the Knights of the North on the map and received Asbrind’s coins, ‘I am true to my word!’
