*A large, map like sheet of paper is spread across the cold stone table that makes it’s home in Frerry’s abode*

(Something to scare off those humans!)

Devised by Tibb and Frerry.

The Plan

It is simple but must be executed well and have no flukes or mess-ups in the process. ( Not really, but nevertheless. )

We shall create a myth that speaks of a legendary aquatic beast that roams the tranquil lake in Branborough. We shall pretend this beast enjoys a nice meal that consists of humans and such, we will make hollow dummies of this fabled beast and place them tactically about in the waters so as to spread rumours.

The Ritual

It may sound silly but may prove vital –

We shall create a sort of tribal ritual where we perform some sort of made-up rites, we will have someone to chant some gibberish and whilst they do so we will dance and run about like a bunch of buffoons. Perhaps around a bonfire? We will need a tailor to provide silly costumes for us when we do so. You are likely thinking “You’re mad!”. Though do keep in mind this is a one-time thing, we won’t do this on a regular basis.

While we jig around, in the background- I best just quote this from Tibb’s note.

*Part of Tibb’s note has been roughly cut out and hap-hazardly stuck down*

“We plan to make a fake Human o' some kind, we're going to tie 'im to a boat with a hole in the bottom of it, we're then going ter float 'im out on the river and let 'im sink. This is the real clever bit. Inside the fake Human, will be a load o' red dye, freshly gathered from the fields of flowers nearby. Once submerged the dye will leak out and float to the surface o' the water, looking like blood.”

Acting it Out

Now, whilst we prepare for this we will give these mountain-dwelling humans what they requested, food- primarily wheat and melons.

When the time comes when we are ready we shall stop providing them with food, they will likely be displeased by this and send someone down to threaten us or the likes. This is when we strike- well not strike but more the plan unfolds.

We will have a scout anticipating this moment and he will give us notice so we can begin the bogus ritual, this man will discover us, see the fake human in the water and will hopefully be horrified. He will then (provided it works) run back to his people and tell them of this and if we are lucky they will bother us no more!

((I'm sorry to completely off topic, but my character is a halfling and I have no idea how to find where the rest of the halflings are. It's nowhere on the forums, like the other races. I just need a way for my character to find the village/gain information as to it's whereabouts. I'm trying to make this as un-metagame-ish as I can, if this is metagaming let me know. The only reason I'm asking on this post is because I haven't seen any other halflings... anywhere. By the way, this idea is so awesome it makes me excited to find you guys! I apologize again for going off topic...))

(( No problem mate, I know the place is hectic to find. I'll PM you about it so this doesn't clog up the thread. ))

* Rill Hollowmead, new to The Vale, sees the plan. He laughs jollifully, exclaiming how fun it would be, and pulls out his fancy, self-carved pipe. He wanders off, probably to smoke it in peace. *

A brilliant plan, lad! I suppose brains run in the Brandybuck family.

[[And this is why halflings are the best. Good work, lads and lasses.]]
