Saeros 0 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Alternate Account Application Main Account MC Name: itsjohnwooo (Saeros) Alternate Account MC Name: fulldemon400 In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is when you use OOC (Out-of-character) information IC (In-Character). For example, you cannot know someone's name, age and sometimes race when you've met them for the first time. Powergaming is when you successfully declare an action without letting the other person do anything. For example, *A stabs B in the heart, killing him* would be unfair, since B won't be able to react to it. The correct expression should be *A attempts to stab B* Both are bannable offences. Character Name: Elyndia What is your Race?: Human Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Elyndia was brought up from a noble family in a village situated in the Wilds of Aegis. It was a peaceful village and Elyndia was taught vital survival skills such as farming and fishing. She was also taught how to use a sword although she did not like combat. Many men and even some women were attracted to the art of fighting, but Elyndia wasn't. In fact, she tried to avoid learning combat skills at all times. One day, the village was attacked by a large group of bandits, consisting of Orcs and Humans. The village had many competent warriors, but it wasn't enough. Soon, the village was overrun by orcs and humans, stealing and murdering everything that stood in their way. They continued that cycle until they reached a mansion, in which Elyndia was with her two brothers, a sister and her parents. Her two brothers and her dad fought bravely, fending off more than ten humans at once. However, the overwhelming number of orcs crashing through the walls of the mansion meant that the family could no longer hold off the attack. Elyndia and her sister quickly went down to the basement just in time as the bandits captured her brothers and her parents. As Elyndia looked through the wooden trapdoor, she was horrified to see that one of the orcs went up to her brother, who was still holding the sword and not giving up, and struck him in the gut with a battleaxe. She witnessed one of her family member die, to her horror. Ever since that incident, Elyndia was unable to look at an axe without having flashbacks of her horrible past. Elyndia and her sister hid in the basement as the mansion as well as the rest of the village was burned down and looted, everyone being killed or captured. Luckily, the two girls weren't discovered. Elyndia and her sister left the ruins of their village and with a new determination: to survive. It was as if a God has given her protection during her journey; no harm came to her, as she silently walked among the dark forests in the Wilds. During the undead invasion, much to Elyndia's dismay, she lost her sister as they were running away from the undead. Although it was possible that her family was still alive in Aegis, she braced herself, held back her tears and travelled to Asulon. Now, she travels towards the town of Hanseti, wanting only shelter under other humans and looking for peace. Elyndia is a brown-haired, green-eyed, beautiful lady. Years in the Wilds and surviving harsh winters left her tired and exhausted, but the look of determination is always visible in her eyes; the will to survive. She was cheerful when she was young, but ever since the incident with the bandits, she is very quiet and shy at times. Your characters ambitions: Elyndia is looking for a peaceful settlement; to become a part of one. It has been long since she has talked to a friendly face, and she is in desperate need of someone who she can talk to share her feelings. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Seeing as though she avoids fighting at all costs, she watches fearfully from a distance. She hopes the elf would win the combat, seeing as she has heard wonderful things about elves. Elyndia quietly goes around the battle, as there are no towns and villages nearby, out in the Wilds. Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? She replies with a gentle smile and continues to look around for what she has come for; melon seeds for her new farm. After picking her goods, she quietly whispers to the shop owner, "How much... are these?" Blawharag 277 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Not a bad app, but the bio has some issues. I am not opposed to the semi-generic back story you have, however in order for a story like this to pass it needs to be borderline perfect, this is not. Go through and give a thorough explanation of the following, or potentially consider altering you back story. If you contact me directly I will try to help you better understand what I'm looking for. #1 The number of true Orc bandits is limited at best. Most Orc "bandits" are Warnation members that are acting in the interests of the Warnation. These Orcs would work with Humans that were allied to the Warnation, however general bandits are more likely to end up as prey rather than cohorts. I can except that a very limited number of non-Warnation aligned Orcs are among a bandit party, but there should not be an "overwhelming number of Orcs crashing through the walls". #2 The bandit party above is apparently close to a small battalion in size. This village, which posses hardened warriors and defenses was still overrun by this attacking force and the defenders were obliterated with minimal impact on their attackers. Such a force of bandits does not escape national notice, and poses such a risk to the safety of everyone that it is hard to believe there is no government intervention here. Explain at least why no one is doing anything about this host of bandits which compares to a small army. #3 As one who desperately despises combat, please build upon your training with a sword. How extensive is it? Did they stop lessons shortly after they realized you weren't taking to it, or did they press on anyways regardless of your discomfort? If so, why the dire need for you to be trained? One additional side note: I am unable to find the accepted application for your original account. If you could find a link to it, or otherwise let me know around the date you were accepted, it would make this much easier. Thank you and good luck on your re-apply. I do not believe there is a re-apply time restriction for alternate character apps, so feel free to repost whenever you feel confident in your app.
