Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: Smawton

How old are you?: 17, Eighteen in June! - You'll have to excuse my humour.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: England: GMT

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I'd say so. I am a native speaker.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a friendly guy in general and I tend to get on well with most. Of course, not everyone can be friends but I'll make the effort occasionally. Out of character the same can't be said; I enjoy playing the antagonist and feel it brings much excitement to roleplay for both me, and the victim(s). I currently attend sixth form so I have a fair amount of free time to spend on the server.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I'd say roughly 7-10 hours dependant of course on what's happening during the week.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying to me is experiencing a myriad of characters and adventures beyond the boundaries of real life. Your imagination is set free, able to create interesting experiences and characters for not only yourself, but the whole community.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've been on several Minecraft roleplay servers in the past and believe my skills to be adequate enough for "Lord of the Craft".

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Obtaining and then using out of character information in character to gain an advantage over those who actually abide by the limitations of roleplay.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Breaking the boundaries of your races/characters abilities and gaining sudden skills you'd have no idea how to use otherwise. Secondly, power-gaming is forcibly making another character do something or become affected by something without their consent.

What do you expect this server will be like?: Hopefully an enjoyable roleplaying enviroment where myself, and many others may flourish.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: The most recent server I played on -and still do sometimes- is "The Kingdom of Aeonis". I haven't left, but I like to play on more than one server at a time as I enjoy the diversity.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have, yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I promise.

How did you hear about us?:General chit-chat between a few Roleplayers on Skype.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: No, I'll have to see what the server's like for myself before voting.

In-Character:

Character Name: Dolos.

What Race are you?: "I'm an Elf, isn't it obvious? Wait, no... of course not. I don't reveal my identity to just anyone, especially you."

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Once accepted I will be making a seperate application for the Mori'Quessir.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

"My history? Well I'm an Elf, born and bred. Speaking of which, d'you have any food? This may take a while though, I'll try to keep it as short as I can for the sake of your comprehension and my time.

I was raised in a cave with an old man who claimed to have found me wrapped and dangling from a dead birch tree. Nothing is known of my parents, the man was clueless; but he had a kind heart which unfortunately for him was a weakness. We lived a fairly normal life for outcasts. No one treated us with respect because apparently, living in a cave is "uncivilised". On the contrary, the cave was merely the exterior -as strange as that sounds-, the tunnels and caverns behind were the real home.

We lived the lives of thieves, or rather I did. The old man had no strength, so of course I had to do everything. I did various "missions" in order to claim what was rightfully ours. We lived and prospered, but the inevitable came and the ancient died of a failed heart. That was some time ago now, and since then I have decided to live a quiet, civil life among my race. I think I'll open a bakery... yes, that'd be perfect. As for my age? Well, I don't like to tell but I'd be the equivalent of a fifteen something human... if that helps."

Dolos is a fairly brash character, especially to those who he doesn't like; so everyone. He's usually out for self benefit, but is able to comply to those with similar motives/dispositions. He is clad in a mix of blacks and browns, with pale skin showing at the lower face and hands. He likes to remain covered as he feels safer without an identity.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

"My ambition is to open a Bakery and supply ample amounts of "Gross-eries" to those interested. I may even find a wife if I'm lucky; she can chop the onions."

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): "Cheap, durable and easily obtainable iron swords."

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? The art of deception.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format):

I'll probably use the same skin as a Mori. I didn't make the skin though, credit goes to http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/plasticarmy/

Other Information about your Character: I'd prefer to keep him as obscure as is possible within this application. If you're interested, seek him out for some roleplay.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

My character would remain hidden throughout the tribulation and approach the halfling when the warriors had fled the scene. I would console the being and offer work within my bakery, "It's best not to persue them and die. You can gain twice as much coin with me." If he chooses to accept then I would teach him the way of the baker... my way of the baker. He would grow to trust me and I'd get him to do various tasks for me within the day; it saves Dolos the effort.

If he declines I simply move on and open up the Bakery. Regardless of the halfling's decision, Dolos remains apathetic.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Dolos would eye the character in disgust; higher class citizens anger the Elf. "I don't think you can do much for me... what could I do for you? I have plenty of bread to fill your stomach." Regardless of subjective opinions and feelings, Dolos has to make coin.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Since we are able to steal a small amount in the wild without being a villain, I would choose to take the iron and craft an iron sword, belittling the pathetic golden weapon residing within the chest. Since the hut is seemingly abandoned, Dolos would sleep within and wait for the afternoon to come. If someone were to arrive claiming they owned the house, the Elf would apologise with a smirk, run past and escape the clutches of the stranger. If no one turned up, he would consider claiming it as a retreat; when he has accumulated enough coin through baking, he'd upgrade the shack.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

I respond in a feigned lethargy, uttering brittle words of desperation, "Food... water". When I have regained my energy I attempt to converse further with the traders and become friendly. Once the group had gained my trust I would inquire into knowledge on secret locations or places to make a few extra coin, I may even ask for any work.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

I hide among the trees close to the group, watch in amusement as they fight the bandits and assess the subsequent situation. It is not my place to interfere in such matters and I wander off into the forest in search of meat.
